Now wait.... Had she taken a right turn or left coming? Larissa stared at the fork in the road, the young female's eyes jumping back and forth between both ways. The newly joined member of the gang had been exploring her new home but now.... Now she was so mixed up and confused that not even her nose could help her find her way home. Loon, her father, was going to be mad. Or actually, she thought to herself, he probably wouldn't care since he didn't think she was really capable of anything anywhere. She was just a puff ball to him. Always had been, probably always would. The teen huffed and sat down with a plop, turning her gaze up to the sky. Maybe someone would come looking for her. At least, she hoped someone would.

Kep trotted lowly through the tall grass, eyes constantly scanning for predators and ears sucking in any trace of sound they could receive. He dared not tread the outstanding roads alone, especially not at night. The moon was the only source of redemption in an otherwise pitch-black setting, and its light made Khepret's dialated pupils seem all-the-more beady and mysterious.
It was then that a curious scent wafted across his nose: that of another feline. His sound receptors shot up as his body stiffened entirely, and if someone had seem him they might have thought he was playing 'red-light, green-light'.
'Curious...', he thought, glistening yellow gems sweeping the dirt path before him with an interested stare. There was definitely a figure resembling a cat, as he had anticipated, stepping unsurely towards him. It was too far away for him to make any further judgment, but it didn't seem like a threat.
As quietly as he could, the sly thief sank his claws into the large tree trunk behind him and scampered up to a much more suitable vantage point atop a branch. Now he had a good view of her, and a combative advantage. Fortunately, upon a thorough inspection of his visitor, he realized it was a young woman.
"Someone like you shouldn't be out here at this time of night," he called from his perch, slowly creeping across to the end of the thick stick. His reflective eyes and puffy black and red fur gave him the appearance of a demon... and his smooth voice only complimented the act. "What're you doing out here?"

Larissa jumped at the smooth voice, the young cat leaping to her feet. "Who said that?" She exclaimed as she glanced wildly around her. That was when her eyes landed on the dark, feline form in the tree above. The teen backed up, the fur on her neck bristling as she stared up at the longhair. "I got lost. Who are you?" She replied suspiciously, staring up at the cat.

Khepret smirked, understanding now that this damsel was of no danger to him. In a single, slick motion, he pounced from the birch and scampered directly up to Larissa. His nose pushed against hers and their eyes met about a centimeter away from one another.
"When a frightening stranger asks you what you're doing in the middle of the woods, the worst answer you can possibly give is 'I'm lost'."
He chuckled in a mocking tone, then eased up to give her back her space.
"Name's Khepret, legendary thief," the casual cat introduced proudly, circling the innocent girl and teasing her with his backside's volumptuous piston of fluff. "Who might you be?"

As the strange longhair invaded her space, Larissa's eyes widened in fear. Still, she forced herself to relax as he moved backwards. She'd never met a cat like this before and frankly, Larissa wasn't very sure she was glad that she had. "My name's Larissa...." The female watched him carefully, her posture still obviously tense. She still hoped that someone would be sent after her. Surely Loon wouldn't just abandon her.... Right? "I've never heard of you before. I don't think you're really legendary."

"I've never heard of you before. I don't think you're really 'legendary'."
The pompous sneak's eyes widened at her sassy comment. Him? Not legendary? Well, that just wasn't going to fly. He shook his head free of the blank expression, and stopped to get a good word in with her.
"Larissa, hmm? Don't worry, Larissa, you'll be hearing about me. Soon you'll realize what a gift it was from whatever deity resides in the stars above for this meeting to occur. You'll see."
The frustrated cat sat down and licked his paw, trying hard not to pay her any attention. His finesse really was insurpassable. All he needed was opportunity. Then people would know who he was.
"Where are you headed?" he asked after a moment of silence, stopping his midnight bath to shoot her a less-than-pleasant glare.

Oh dear, she'd upset him. Larissa frowned as she stared at the cat. He was puzzling and she wasn't quite sure if him finding her was a good or bad thing. He didn't seem to want to hurt her, but then he didn't seem very keen on helping her either. "Maybe I will. You'll just have to prove it I guess." The teen finally stated simply, smiling. "And I'm heading back to.... well, it's home I guess. The warehouse of the Legends of Waya gang. I joined the gang recently and I'm sure someone's wondering when I went." There, maybe that would make up for her lost comment too. "What about you, oh legendary thief?"

What do you know? Larissa had met one of the only other cats she'd seen with a bigger and more sensitive ego than Cloud... whether or not either of them were worthy of the credit they demanded, she had yet to see.
Her mention of being a Legend made Khepret choke, and his jaw dropped.
"Did... Did you just say you're a 'Legend'? A 'Legend of Waya'?"
It didn't seem fathomable. He was sure that the gang wasn't just letting people in willy-nilly... after all, he had a meeting scheduled for the next night with the leader himself (supposedly) just to propose entrance.
"I have an interview to apply tomorrow..." he stated, still baffled by this seemingly blasphemous occurance. "Sorry to seem blunt, but how did you get into the gang?"

Larissa giggled at the longhair's blatent surprise and shock. "Because Cloud saw something he liked in me." She replied with a grin and flick of her tail. "Plus my dad was joining too to help assign smaller creatures to cats." The young female paused before adding warmly, "If you're as good of a thief as you say you are, then I'm sure Cloud will let you in. He seems pretty nice." Alright, so she didn't really know much about the leader, but he had seemed like quite a gentleman when her father and her had met him.

Of course. It wouldn't have made a lick of sense for a someone like her, unskilled and clumsy, as he had seen thusfar, to be accepted without some sort of exterior influence. She'd make a good harem, Kep supposed, attractive and well-manne-...
No, that wasn't enough. He'd come too far to find this confident group of elitists to discover that their accomplishments were nothing but exaggerated myths. Not disappointment; not this time.
"I see..." Khepret replied, words seeping from his mouth like dripping molasses. She wasn't as confident in his abilities as he would have liked, but at least she didn't doubt him. That was what got to the narcissistic feline.
"So your father assigns familiars, hm? Does that mean you have a companion of your own?"
