Ment was cleaning downstairs. Adrian was bunking with him in his room until they could finished cleaning out the other bedroom for him to use, and since Olivia wasn't feeling particularly motivated today, or anyday for the last week or so, it never got done. Adrian was sleeping in Ment's room, so he decided to leave him alone there and clean the dust collecting shop. With a house full of people he felt rather lonely.
Olivia was upstairs in their small living room, having rooted herself to their couch for awhile now, simply there. She barely moved, barely ate, barely anything. It was kind of like she was in a daze.

Polly and Samuel arrived at the door, looking fairly somber. Sam had gotten Polly to understand that one of Olivia's friends had died, and he was going to keep her company while Polly dealt with Ment. Ment would probably need company too. Polly managed a small smile and a wave as his father knocked only once.

Ment's head perked up slightly, but still perked. Setting to the side his dusting wand and the rag her had been dipping in hot water to clean off things he wandered to the door and opened it surprised to see Polly and Samuel there.
He blinked a moment and shook his head, stepping to the side, "Would you like to come in?" This morose surrounding was starting to eat at him, and he nearly forgot his manners.

"Please," Samuel said, giving a little head-bow. Polly stepped in and gave Ment another hug, but this one soft and comforting rather than excited. The poor boy.
"Is Olivia in?" Sam asked.

Ment smiled, and hugged Polly back giving him a light squeeze. He felt better already with his friend around and hoped they'd be staying awhile, especially if Samuel was going to be here. Maybe it'd get Olivia to stop spacing out on the couch, and do something, anything.
"Olivia is upstairs in the living room on the couch. I apologize for how she looks...She's hasn't been very motivated since we helped Adrian with the funeral. She's still really shaken. We're all really shaken..."
Ment gave Polly a small smile and hugged him again, "I missed you."

"I missed you too," Polly said softly. Because Olivia and Ment were sad, Polly was starting to feel sad. Funerals were always sad, even if he had never met this Amryx woman. He felt strangely connected to Adrian now, although he had never met the boy. Wonder why!
Samuel just nodded and headed for the living room. He knocked lightly on the doorframe.
"Olivia?"

"Adrian is upstairs sleeping," Ment said, letting go of Polly, glancing back at the stairs as Samuel went to see Olivia. "He always joked about Amryx dying, or how he'd be better off without her. I know he never meant any of it. And now that she's gone...He seems lost."
Ment ran a hand through his hair, sighing. He felt uncomfortable talking about Amryx in a past tense. Even he didn't want to believe she was dead. He didn't want to believe any of it. He wasn't the first of them. He wasn't the first of Olivia's. But at the same time, how could he believe that woman who killed Amryx? She was trying to kill him and 'Livia just like she killed...
Ment looked up at Pollux, "Polly...Do you remember anything about your life before? Anything?"
Olivia looked at the door as Samuel knocked and quietly answered, "Come in..."
She was on the couch, in a black dress shirt, what seemed to be her undergarments and a flannel sheet wrapped around her. Her hair was down and curled considerably, and her face was puffy as if she finished crying some time ago.

Polly nodded and sniffled, resting his cheek on Ment's shoulder and rocking slightly as the other boy continued to talk. He pulled away when a question was posed and peered up at Ment.
"Well...well, I remember a girl. I remember two. I remember you and Arius and Anastasia. I remember the candy store and...and here. Everything in-between is all mixed-up." More or less. Not entirely. He wasn't sure his brain wanted him to remember.
Samuel entered the room and walked slowly over to Olivia, taking initiative and sitting beside her without permission. He didn't want the poor woman to have to speak more than was needed.
"May I touch you?"
That, however, required permission every time.

"I don't get it Pollux..." Ment murmured, petting the boy's pink silky hair. He sounded both upset and angry. Ment was never known for being truly angry. It was always just an immature type of pissy that he had that he would use to sting people's senses. But this. He was genuinely angry.
Olivia nodded tiredly. Sure, she wasn't exactly the most up to date dating material, but she knew sympathy and compassion when it was being handed to her. He didn't need the permission, but she was still glad he asked.

"Don't get what?" Polly asked, frowning. He didn't like it when anyone was upset, let alone his best friend and said friend's mother. He really didn't understand why everyone was so interested in his past life. Did they know something he didn't?
Upstairs, Samuel wrapped an arm around Olivia and held her close, kissing her cheek. He didn't know what to say. His views on death would undoubtedly differ greatly from hers, and so he wasn't quite certain what would be comforting.

Ment stood Pollux infront of him, starring at him intensely. He had promised himself he would never tell Polly anything from his past because he was too happy and grateful that he was alive now. That he was here now and could live on now, even if his sister and mother couldn't. But if that woman, his killer, kis mother's killer, his sister's killer, was out there loose on the streets (though right now safe within militia custody), he needed to know. He needed to keep him safe. He didn't want to lose his friend a second time, like Adrian lost his mother, and Degas lost his life.
"Why you can't remember Carrie, your mother, and Lorelei, your sister, and who it was that killed you...Or for the matter, that you died..."
Olivia's eyes teared up once again and she burried her head into Samuel's shoulder trying her hardest not to cry again. She didn't have the energy to sit there crying again.
"It's all my fault," She muttered, "All my fault..."

Polly's eyes went wide. Strange things began to rush back, like a morbid movie flashing across a screen. There was a break-in. His mother had tried to protect her babies, but no. No, there was blood. Blood everywhere. He remembered feeling so cold, and things getting so dark. White skin and hair, a pale, lovely hand. Scared and hurt and crying, laying there. The hand and then Samuel. His real family. His family now.
When Polly looked back up to Ment, his eyes were filled with tears.
"I remember them. Of course I remember them."
"Shhh, no no no, darling," Samuel sighed, "It's not your fault. You had no control over what happened. You had no way to know that it might."

"Oh god, Amryx, I'm so sorry!" Olivia cried, clutching her head and shaking back and forth pathetically. She should have known. But how could she have known? there was no way of her knowing, but she should have. It should have been her and not Amryx. It shouldn't have been her friend. She didn't do anything wrong, but herself? She did so many terrible things. She knowingly sold these oils to people knowing the chances of these kids spawning and now because of it six people had died. What was wrong with her?
"I'm such a terrible person! If I had known I could have saved her, Samuel! I could have saved her!"
Ment hugged Polly tightly, "I'm sorry Polly. I didn't mean to make you cry. I just need you to remember. You need to remember so I can keep that vile woman away from you so she can't hurt you or anyone again."

"Shhhh," Samuel cooed again, "Darling, there was no way for you to have known. You could not have saved her. She is...in a better place now. She would not want you to blame yourself." Most people wouldn't, especially not a good friend.
Polly nodded and held Ment back. He could not quite say that he missed his past-sister or his past-mother. He didn't remember more but their deaths, and he had Samuel now...but now he remembered a graphic murder. Oh, God...
"Do you think she will?"

"Evil knows no bounds..." Ment muttered, almost feeling sick at the thought of her, "And she is truly evil. She admitted to it. She admitted to killing you, and Degas and his parent. And she was coming after us. Mom and me..."
Ment shivered fiercely. He was scared, for once in his life, of losing it and to lose Olivia. He never called her mother, even though that is what he thought of her as, it was always 'Livia. Adrian losing Amryx made hmi realize the things he had always taken for granted.
"She was horrible, Pollux. She had that creepy smile that goes ear to ear like a thin line. She talked, but her mouth never moved, it was like she was a ventriloquist or something. Her eyes were pitch black where they should be white, and her hair looked like mist or fog or something, floating all over the place but not really there. And her hands were long and had these barbs no them. I can't get her image out of my head..."
"She never got to go home..." Olivia muttered. She never did believe Amryx's crazy stories about being from another place entirely. She thought she was a crazy hobo when she first met her, but now. How could she be sure? What if she had a family she never talked about? What about them?
