All this critiquing is giving me headache . . .well it would, but alas, I am Satan. Satan does not get headaches. But you know what Satan does do? He tells you the correct way to critique a piece of writing. So, here we go. Satan is going to tell you how to critique. . .and how not to O_o burning_eyes .

How to Critique

When Critiquing, do not bash their work unless they ask you to (literally not figuratively >:[ ). Give constructive criticism by telling them something you liked about their work, and then something you think they could improve on.

That was terrible! You're an idiot! Never write again!!!!!

Very well written. I think you should try to make it a little longer though.

That was the correct way to critique! Very well done!

Here's the same rules as above plus a little bit more. I like to write things out.

1) Critiquing someones writing is delicate, so don't be cruel unless the writer says he/she wants brutal feedback.

2) Follow the forum rules.

3) Post whatever you want to be critiqued. Lyrics, poems, parts of a poem or song, Anything related to poetry, lyrics, or critiquing.

4) Keep things organized. In other words, don't post something that's completely messed up and expect others to fix it for you. Do your best and let others decide if they like it.

5) Do not post ads. Just don't do it. They'll get deleted and you'll get in trouble. If you want to be paid to critique, find someone who needs some work critiqued and ask him/her if he/she'd pay you a little for it. If they're not interested, you're simply out of luck. Don't come here expecting to earn lots of gold.

6) HAVE FUN! This subforum is not just a boring place for you to come and critique someone's work. It's a place where you can meet others, chat, discuss, and even sell your talents with critiquing.
