Despite the fact the had had... and odd welcoming into the land (to say the least), what with the fact they had not expected to stumble upon a heartbroken Misae, things were apparently beginning to mend themselves.

There was still no sign of Hadithi himself, but Tsi'hilu figured that was likely because it had simply turned out to be his Tim to Leave, per say. No one could stop nature from claiming you once your time was up, and apparently, Misae was starting to realise that even if her mate was gone, she was still alive, and should be grateful for it.

That aside, the pridal lands were soothing, and a change from the inner lands they were more used to travelling. As it was, Tsi'hilu was happy to indulge in laying on the warm sand, under the shade of a palm tree, her eyes seeking the waves that lay in the horizon. Perhaps later she could persuade her mate to take a swim with her, now that Misae had gotten slightly over her pain. Her eyes lay on the random juveniles that play on the beach, as well as the few adults that lingered here or there, perfectly content in their own worlds.

She briefly wondered where her children were and if they were enjoying the ocean as much as she was.

Makonde had found the beach to be inviting, certainly. The sand was warm and relaxing, the waves were cool and playful. However, the visit to these lands had given her other things to ponder over. She'd come across a leopon boy, green as the markings across her body, toying with some plants. It had been strange to her, as she'd never seen a creature like such before, and apparently even here he was regarded a bit oddly. Not badly, but oddly - something to do with his parentage and muses. She didn't quite understand.

Still, while her parents were busy soothing her aunt, she had been talking to this male. Older than her, certainly, but kind enough to indulge her silly questions. The more she found out, the more she wanted to know! It was because of this that she was now trotting happily down the beach, paws dusted in the dirt of the jungle, mingled with the sand now, and in her mouth a variety of leaves. All shapes and sizes, a variety of colors, and her teeth trying very hard not to crush them. As she saw her mother, the overwhelming urge to gush proudly about her new find swept over her, and her path altered.

"Momma," she sputtered, dropping her leaves gently to the sands as she flopped down next to the lioness. Her mother was a small thing, and Makonde herself could see she would outgrow her. "I met the strangest boy."

Tsi'hilu had seen her daughter before she herself had spotted her, and needless to say, the lioness was pleasantly surprised when Makonde veered her path to flop down by her side, "Oh?" a smile was tugging at her maw, and it was clear that she had come to notice that most of the members of this pride were 'strange', no matter how she looked at them. In fact, the small ela was starting to... notice that she herself was changing vaguely.

She could almost swear she could hear the sea grinning at her at that point. How could one HEAR the sea GRIN anyhow? How was that possible?

Pushing those thoughts aside, the lioness arched a bro at her daughter, "Strangest, you say? I don't know... I've seen my fair share of strange around here, and you're claiming to have seen the strangest one?" her eyes dropped down to the leaves the younger lioness had left on the ground, "What're these, love? Are you carrying them around for a reason?" while Tsi had indulged in healing and medical plants a bit, her knowledge was nowhere near many lions' and thus her mind never made the connection.

Perhaps it was the fact that Mokonde had been spending so much time with the strange green leopon boy, but she hadn't had any time to notice any changes that might be developing between her and the world around her. Maybe the fact that she was just concentrating too hard on what he was teaching her meant that she was too busy to listen - or maybe he was using what he heard to teach her. In any case, she'd yet to notice a single thing out of the ordinary here, and had so far remained happily oblivious to everything. Well, minus the strange little leopon boy of course.

"Oh, I think he's the strangest. He's a leopon!" She smiled brightly at her discovery, her tail flickering behind her. "A leopon that knows how to heal, and he talks to plants to boot. He was also mumbling something about being half muse but I've got no idea what that means." The last bit of her ramble caused her brows to knit, her gaze narrowing at nothing as she, yet again, tried to discern what in the world that meant. Then, she simply blinked at her mother's question and glanced down, as if the words had distracted her from a train of thought. "Oh, these? These are herbs!"

With a grin she reached out and spread each leaf apart, putting them into a line in the sand before her. "He was teaching me about them. Each one does something different." She reached out to one of them and poked at it. "If you chew on this one when you hurt yourself, it'll make it stop aching." She glanced over them for a second, then poked at another as she recognized it, "and this one will help you sleep!" The bright smile that spread across her maw then showed that, clearly, she was quite pleased with herself.

Her head tilted to one side, curiosity gripping her briefly as she noticed her daughter speaking a word she had never heard of, "What's... a leopon, dear?" now, she actually kind of wanted to get up and go meet this boy that her daughter found so fascinating, "He knows how to heal?" her ears perked at that, her head lifting up in the air as she considered this for a moment.

Then her gaze dropped down to her daughter once more, "Are you interesting in healing and herbs, Makonde?" she would have never guessed as much, but then again... she had never paused to think about that. Granted, the speciality held a vague appeal for her, but she had never managed to concentrate on it for too long, mostly due to the fact her leading position held too many responsibilities for her to ignore.

She had undergone a few, brief lectures with a lioness from another clan before she'd left to rebuild her own, but that was a long time ago and she hardly remembered what she'd been taught, "If you do, I know someone back in ela that would be ecstatic to teach you quite a good few things. She tried to teach me, back in the day, but I had to rebuild our clan and our lectures got cut short," her gaze dropped to the leaves and she smiled, "Did he teach you about roots? I was taught that quite a few roots have amazing properties."

She blinked and tilted her head a little, regarding her mother for a moment as she was asked that question. She had learned something her mother didn't already know? For a long moment, she simply watched her, then, as if someone flipped a switch, she shrugged her shoulders a bit. "As best I can gather, it's when a leopard and a lion have a baby together. He has a mane, but he's smaller than daddy - much smaller! His tail doesn't have a tuft either." She waved her tail about for emphasis, then settled it back down to the sand.

"I don't know," she said honestly as her mother asked, poking about at the leaves. She had been very interested in what the male had to teach her, and she had a keen memory. "I think it's interesting, and I think I'm good at it." She turned her gaze back up at her mother and away from where she'd been staring at the leaves. "Do you think it would be something good to learn, Momma?"

She settled down into the sand, not bothered at all by the feeling of the gritty sand against her belly fur as she lay down. "I didn't know anyone learned these kinds of things." She shrugged a bit, but the smile was on her maw as she entertained the notion of learning more and more. "He said he'd teach me about more leaves, and yeah, some roots, if I wanted."

"That's interesting," her head tilted to one side as she tried to imagine this being, "The Ela haven't really been known for mingling with other species - that's probably why I have no idea what a leopon is, dear," however, she'd come to notice that the kizaa were much more open with whom they accepted into their ranks, to the point that they thought of everyone as a big happy family, really.

Tsi'hilu hadn't spent a lot of time in her past with a family (in fact, most of it had been spent alone, trying to survive), however, she could remember the pride elders from long ago, and her mother. They hadn't been particularly fond of 'strangers' and rogues. Not that she had minded all that much though, seeing as how she had married a rogue herself, "It would be something good to learn indeed... I should probably visit this friend of mine and see if she'd be interesting in showing you a thing or two. I've never seen a lioness so adept at healing as her. I'm sure you would like her."

She nuzzled the top of her daughter's head for a moment as she continued, "Different lions value different abilities, love... don't let anyone tell you that what you do is of no value. Healing can come in handy."

"Now that you say that, I don't recall ever seeing many other species around our lands," she said with a little frown, trying to think of when she had ever seen anyone but a lion inside the Ela pride. Then she looked out at the Kiza and smiled at them. "They have a lot of different species here, but they refer to them in the most peculiar way. Muses, like.. the rest of the things they talk about." She shook her head and laughed lightly. It was terribly confusing, especially when you met someone like Kiwi, who was the offspring of said 'muse' and a lion.

"I'd really like that," she said, her ears and head perking up at her mother's words. "While I'm here I can get Kiwi to keep teaching me, so I'm not completely lost when we go back home and meet your friend." She smiled proudly up at her mother as she poked around at the leaves stretched out before her in the sand. "I don't think anyone has ever looked down on healers, I just didn't know it was.. something you could do. I never thought about it. I bet it could be really useful."

Her gaze wandered off as she began to think about it, especially how helpful she could be for the rest of the family if someone got sick, or hurt themselves hunting. She could be really useful!

"Many prides... were not made to mingle with others, dear," came the hushed whisper as the white lioness lay her head down over her paws, "You see, what they have here in this beach is not the normal. Most species keep to their own, and while it might sound... dumb to us, to refrain from mingling, it is the way of the clan. Maybe it is wrong, but we are not the ones with the power to change this," her tail flicked for a moment as she smiled at her daughter, "Only time can do that."

For some odd reason, the idea that her daughter liked healing herbs and was eager to learn more made the lioness happy. After all, she remembered the time she had been interested in such things; then, her cubs had been born, and Tsi'hilu had barely had enough time to breathe, let alone try to study sand learn about herbs and roots, "It is pretty useful; who do you think treats your daddy's cuts and scrapes when the hunts get a bit too rough?"

That said, she closed her eyes a breathed a sigh of happiness; The beach was so peaceful, "For now, don't worry too much about it, love. You'll learn, with time. Just... give it time."

"Oh, I understand that," she said softly, laying down more comfortably at her mother's side and curling up against the pale white fur. It was different than it had been when she was a cub - she was already as large as her mother's tiny form, at least mostly, and she was not quite fully grown. "I'm not sure all species would be built for our way of life, after all. It's just nice to mingle with them from time to time, get to know different sorts. I had no idea such a being as Kiwi was even possible." To think, a leopard and a lion?

She tilted her head a little at her mother's mention of her father's cuts and scrapes. "I guess I never really though about it," she grinned a bit and leaned her head into her mother's shoulder, "maybe I just thought he was really good at healing all by himself." She chuckled at the silly idea that brought up and let her eyes slowly begin to drift closed, her mother's words brushing over her.

"Mmm, time, yeah," she muttered, curling closer to the comfortable scent and warmth of her mother. She might be big, and growing older by the day, but she still enjoyed sleeping next to her tiny parent. She might one day grow to be the healer of the clan, but she'd never outgrow the need for comfort and protection herself.
