She'd gone and gotten the book and then she'd said three Hail Marys. That probably wouldn't be enough, but she couldn't ask a priest what the penance was for seducing an altar boy even if you didn't actually, you know, do that stuff with him. It definitely ranked high up on her things to do, that penance, because it grated that no matter how long she'd tried to resist she had the urge to just obey. To do the thing she'd been ordered to do (steal a book, in this case, but who knew what it might be next) without question, without pause.
It had taken barely two days to succumb to that strange compulsion. Kyrie wished it had taken longer. What would her uncle think now? Not to mention her dad. She looked down at her black patent leather shoes, penny loafers that matched her school uniform perfectly. It seemed like she'd shortly go the way of her missing friend Soah, though- forced to quit because of demonic interference. That rankled. Shouldn't a goetic prince of knowledge admire the attempts of those less intelligent to better themselves, or something? Her own statement had just talked herself into a circle.
Perhaps she might have continued in this way, wandering the gravel paths of a small, out-of-the-way park where she liked to collect augury feathers, while contemplating the mysteries of the infernal, but she was interrupted. No one got in her way, no, her peripheral vision was excellent. It was the sensitivity that had always served her so well as a resourcer for demon summoners; the awareness of the paranormal. Something was wrong, and perhaps unwisely she turned to look for it.
It? Him, more like it; all she needed was to note the undoubtedly masculine figure some yards ahead and Kyrie didn't need to study this person to know that he was bad and she wanted to go home. Right. Then.
She stopped in her tracks, gravel skittering about her feet. The panda-bear backpack she was carrying over one shoulder (half full of depressingly gray feathers) slipped down to her elbow, but she pulled it up hurriedly. Away. She had to go. But he was in the way- Maybe if she cut a big enough circle around him, he wouldn't notice? Kyrie decided to try that track, and she headed off in a large circle through the damp grass.

There was certainly an air of ‘do not mess with me or I will eat your face’ about the man. The kind of air that made you want to turn around and walk the other way. Change your plans for the rest of the day just so you didn’t have to go anywhere he’d been. He was the sort of man who looked like he did very bad things. It would be an accurate guess to think that he probably kicked puppies and killed small kittens in his spare time. In fact there were at least 4 different animal shelters that he had been told he was not allowed withing 100 yards of. Not that being told to do anything meant anything to *him*.
The man-who-looked-like-he-did-very-bad-things had not yet noticed the girl-with-the-panda-bear-back-pack. This was not entirely unusual though, as he was always the sort that person that did not so much notice people as much as they noticed *him*. At the moment what he *was* noticing was something in the grass. Something that looked, at closer inspection, like a trail of silvery shiny flecks. Something that looked suspiciously like unicorn’s blood. Probably because it *was.* And *that* was probably because the man-who-looked-like-he-did-very-bad-things was in the middle of hunting one. It was not until he lifted his head to follow the line of the silvery trail off into trees that he stopped because he had finally spotted the girl from the corner of his eye, and he gave a slow turn of her head to look her up and down.

She had described half a circle with tiny, careful steps when she felt eyes on her. Please let it be Lord Seere, she thought, closing her eyes and knowing simply from the fact that the feeling was definitely malicious- or at least ill-meaning in general - that it was not Lord Seere. She set her heel onto the ground and opened her eyes, staring at the ground rather than the Bad Man; her mouth dropped open into the shape of a capital O at what she saw. Unicorn blood? Why would there be unicorn blood? You needed a license and, and permission to harvest from the unicorn or something for it, she knew because she bought it sometimes.
Kyrie could not possibly picture someone hunting a unicorn for the fun of it. But it looked like it was exactly what this guy was doing; she looked up then, intending to completely bypass him and find a way out, but she ended up staring directly out of a necklace made of teeth. Human teeth. And he looked scarier when he was actually looking at her than when she had just been looking at him. Taking two tiny steps back, she started to follow her half-circle around him again. Maybe he'd just follow the unicorn trail--
Then she realized that the trail of blood led exactly along the path she would have to follow to get home. She paused, glanced back at him, and then looked back to the trail. The name formed on her lips- Lord Seere -but she didn't say it. She still resented the control he had over her. Instead, she stopped. What was she supposed to do?

The man-who-looked-like-he-did-very-bad-things was indeed hunting unicorn for fun. And the girl was indeed almost directly in his path. For a moment he just stood there, like some horrible blemish in the park, and stared at her as though deciding what to do. Sure the animal he was hunting was probably limping further away the longer he waited. But it wasn’t like he didn’t have a perfectly clear trail to exactly where it was. And perfectly good… bait.
Because that’s what she was, wasn’t she? Young girl… and it didn’t take a genious to see that she was probably a bit of a goody-goody. And anyone who knew anything about unicorns knew that that was the sort of thing they *liked*. His lips curled up into a slow thin smile. Something that made you shiver as though you can feel something watching you in the dark. And then started to walk towards her. And when he had gotten close enough he reached a hand out, scars crossing the back of it, and grabbed her up by her fluffy panda-bear backpack.
“Cute.”

At the smile, she started to back away- no way did she want this guy anywhere near her. And when he started to move closer she spun on her heels and would have run, but the man had already grabbed her backpack. She squeaked and flailed, kicking out and missing; after a minute, she stopped and fell silent, heaving deep breaths because she really did not want to scream.
Kyrie brought her hands up to her face and stared, at the scarred face and the red eyes that she knew couldn't be human. (Like she had any space to talk about weird eyes; she had neon blue irises and black sclera.) If she were sensible, she'd just stay quiet, but no one had yet called her that and she said, "Sc- scary," she said, and then she closed her eyes again and shrieked:
"LORD SEERE!"
Please let him listen.

Seere had noted that there was something wrong with his angel before she called for him. He hadn't been watching her, mostly because he knew she'd do what he told her to. But through their connection, one she likely would deny existed he felt her struggling. She was considering calling to him this he knew, perhaps she had read the book - though the feeling wasn't what he would expect. Now he had considered peeking and watching but he didn't instead the Prince waited; he wanted Kyrie to call to him, to need him.
The Prince was rather patient, not so much waiting to find out if she'd call, but rather just knowing she would. A smile curled his lips when his angel called for him and in the blink of an eye he was there. There was no fanfare or sparks when the Prince appeared near Kyrie and Krozyn; however in the split second it took Seere to gauge the situation with his sight there was a cold dangerous anger that seemed to spread over the area like a deadly fog.
Seere noted the blood on the grass, he could feel the unicorn within a mile of them and the good hearted holy woman that may be able to find it in time. That wasn't what drew his attention, instead his gaze went to Kyrie and then to the hand that was grabbing her. A twitch of his lip in annoyance and Seere reached out and grabbed the man's wrist; with a quick twist he forced the hand to be removed from his angel.
"That is a very bad idea," the demon's voice withered with anger jerking the man around he cast him to the side with a slight snarl. Seere drew Kyrie somewhat closer so she was safely at his side with a gentleness that seemed quite out of place in the current situation. "Now," turning Seere looked toward Kro his eyes an inky black, sniffing the air he placed Kro's infernal blood, "tiefling what do you think you were doing touching that which is mine?" His voice held his fury but now it seemed somewhat more manageable with Kyrie freed.

It would not be incorrect to say that conflict was something that Krozen enjoyed, thrived on.
He frowned momentarily as his hand was forced away from the girl and pushed aside. It was not something he appreciated, and he yanked his arm back, but didn’t back away. He could *feel* the utter unpleasantness and anger that was seeping of this now black-eyed individual, but it wasn’t unusual for him to to bite off more than he could chew, and he was probably doing that here, but not that he ever really cared. Or ever really learned. Instead he cocked his head in a way that said he was all to sure of himself. *Full* of himself.
“Not that I knew anything here was yours,” his voice was somewhat biting, defiant, “but I was *planning* on using it to bait out a unicorn.”

She'd only had a moment to appreciate that perhaps he might not come, and then she'd found herself on her knees in the damp grass. Unreasonable fear seized her, and she found herself clutching her shoulders tightly, as if afraid she might fall to pieces. The anger, that was frightening. He'd never been angry around her, and never at her, always laughing or mocking and she decided then that she didn't want a reason to feel this frozen anger near her ever, ever again.
Kyrie had only just begun to rise when that gentle hand was placed on her shoulder and she flinched away, happily falling again to Seere's side. She set the side of her head to his hip and closed her eyes. This was a bad place, and she found herself cursing the name of Sam Marlin. If only she'd never taken that commission, she wouldn't be here, hiding from one evil behind an evil that could be argued to be greater. The only difference between the demon she was protected by and the man who had been holding her backpack was intent.
"M-my lord," she said, lips barely moving. It was the first time she'd ever acknowledged his power over her to his face, not like she regretted it right then. And she would have continued, to say thank you- which, doubtless, Seere already knew -but then the tiefling man attracted her attention.
Instinctively she wanted to protest being used as bait. Especially for something like a unicorn- and it crossed her mind that she then would have had to watch the creature die. Seeking comfort that she was uncertain of finding, she held tightly to the excess fabric Lord Seere's clothing. "You need a license," she whispered, perhaps unwisely. And she wasn't an 'it'.

Seere growled low in his throat at the defiance, "mutt, you should learn some respect." Even when angry Seere allowed his vast sight and knowledge to be of service to him. And although he considered plucking Krozyn's dark heart from his chest, he saw more possibilities and uses for the creature - which what saved it's life.
He however had a large amount of excess anger that he needed to dispense; with a flex of power the unicorn that had been slowly making it's way to safety was moved from the forest to between Seere and Kro. The creature had only a moment to widen it's eyes before it exploded bursting outward in a shimmering spray of silvery blood and chunks of meat. Seere strangely enough stayed clean during the whole thing. Letting out a slow breath Seere reached down and plucked a bit of the creature's flesh from Kyrie's hair.
Ignoring Krozyn a moment he took time to look to the girl, "Little Angel are you alright?"

Krozyn felt himself flinch as the unicorn exploded, covering him in silver and bits of unicorn. He didn't like flinching. And he liked even less that the animal he'd been hunting had just been pulled out from under him. That was supposed to be *his* kill. And now he was *covered* in it. Even Kro could tell that he was playing with fire. Anyone would could pull a unicorn out of the trees and then explode the darn thing had to be pretty damned powerful. Certainly more powerful than him. *He*couldn't do that. But he was still entirely unhappy about the situation. Well, more than unhappy. He shook some of the silvery-wet from his hand and then reached out to push Seere, open handed and surprisingly light for the teifling. Maybe he was trying to tread carefully. "*That* might be *your* property," Kro pulled his hand back and pointed to the girl at the prince's side, a quick jab of his finger, "but that unicorn was *obviously* mine! So you tell me what the ********** I'm supposed to do for fun now, huh?!"

With her face turned away, she didn't see the unicorn ported into place between the Prince and the teifling. She didn't want to see it, either, and likely wouldn't have noticed at all except she was suddenly covered in warm, sticky fluid; gasping, she looked down at the silver splatters. Her hand shook as she touched the largest of the stains, one that covered her skirt and part of her leg. It felt like terror- well, actually, it felt like blood, but there was an overwhelming feeling present there that she could quite agree with.
"Y-yes, my lord, thank you," she said, all in one breath and very quietly. Actually, she felt like she was going to throw up. Who knew that unicorns had so much blood? She wanted to go home. Before she could express this wish, or do anything to make it happen, the teifling - looking pretty furious, which she supposed made sense - was suddenly pushing Lord Seere. Kyrie stood up and retreated a few steps, feeling far too conscious of the blood and gore on her clothes. Sure, no one on Gaia would think it odd, but... And she lived by herself, but...
It seemed like such a waste. She would certainly do her best to never, ever anger Lord Seere like this.

Seere's lip twitched in amusement at the tiefling's outburst he knew that destroying the unicorn would upset it but the actual manifestation of it was far more amusing. And with that the dangerous anger seemed to seep away, the push in the side almost made him laugh out loud. A slow smirk came to his face and Seere reached out twisting Kro's arm at the wrist rather painfully. Far more strength then his slight frame would suggest was in the grip and although it is perhaps possible that he could have broken the tiefling's wrist he didn't he just held his arm in the rather uncomfortable position.
"So this all came from an excess of energy and nothing productive to focus it on?" The demon prince's voice was calm as he spoke, making eye contact with Krozyn his eyes slowly draining of the blackness until they appeared almost normal.
Feeling Kyrie move back from him he jerked Krozyn's wrist painfully but didn't turn to look at her. His rage was still too near and feeling his Angel step away grated him.
