It's spirit week at my school. Spirit for what I honestly don't know, I can't remember which sport's in season, I'm guessing baseball, it being spring and all. Sadly spirit week at my school means you don't have to wear polos and dress pants and belts for the week, which is nice I suppose, but it's kind of sad that there's not actual spirit aside from the bit that gets squeezed out of us during the pep rally at the end of the week. Oh, but we don't just get to wear regular close to school, nope, there's a theme for each day! If you don't dress according to each day's special dress code then would better come in the normal dress code our you'll get detention, or as they call it here, ASTOR. I'll tell you what that stands for I you really want to know but it's really, really dumb, so much so that it might actually be funny, I don't know. On monday it's Superhero day, tuesday is Rockstar day, wedensday is Blast from the Past day, thursday is Pajama day, and friday, like all spirit weeks, is School Colors day, which happen to be green and gold. Fitting colors for an eagal mascot on an army post known for gold, eh?

I felt like ranting a bit, strangly, becuase it all usually stays in my head. Also, I thought it'd be fun to talk about the spirity stuff at other people's schools and colleges.

I have absolutely no school spirit for my "school" at all. I think it's because my school is just way too large that it's really hard to get all the students to feel involved. I think another huge reason why I never participate in school events is because I commute, and the events are always in the most ridiculous hours such as early on Saturday morning or so late that I can't commute back home...

Anyway, I was a bit more "spirit"-y in high school... funny thing is, my high school had something really similar to what you had, a "Spirit Week" I dressed up because I think it's fun to dress up, and also because my friend who was the student council president harassed us all into doing it. xD

But you know, I think it's kinda unfair that you can get detention for not dressing up... or ASTOR. What does that mean anyway? It makes me think of a restaurant called "Jack's Astor"... or something like that.

As for Green and Gold... I suggest getting someone to dress up as a leprechaun, you know, just to piss some people off xD

So, are you going to dress up for your Spirit Week at school?

>__> I ended up writing a lot...

I had a shirt with Harley Quinn on it. She's my favorite villain, sadly, hardly anyone I talked to knew who she was. Funny thing, the were two Quailmen. If you have any idea where he's from... it's that old TV show Doug.

ASTOR stand for After School Time Out Room. There's also ISTOR, In School Time Out Room, but that's just when they send a kid to the office for the rest of the day. We also have Assignment School which is in-school suspension that lasts for about 2 days usually.

That's sad that nobody knows Harley Quinn yet there were two Quailman. I don't even know who he is.

... ASTOR and ISTOR... sounds like a failed attempt at making punishments sound nice.

I miss high school spirit week...

We don't really have a spirit week at my university, but for the Greeks, I guess Greek Week would count, since we're supposed to wear our letters for about 8 days in a row. That already happened.

Isn't there more than 8 Greek letters though?

we don't have pep rallies. and no one even listens to the announcements about spirit day or whatever that's happening. and our cheerleading team lacks so much spirit and skill that we placed 3rd.

out of 3 teams.

LOL. well, that's not as bad as the "we got first place! (because we were the only team there)"
