AIM LOG: PhiferWolf & _ p a o cx Tumaini yawned lazily as she lay in the shade of a large tree. It was another one of those lucky run-ins, actually, and what should've started out as a short rest turned into more of an afternoon nap. The past several days had been exhausting for the lioness. And it all started with that nightmare-ish encounter with the demon pride's king. She wanted to think on it a bit more, actually, but with how relaxed she was at the moment she couldn't help but push those thoughts away. Why ruin it now, anyway? She had plenty of time to brood and exact her revenge as soon as she returned to her pride. The young seer moved around happily while his mother took up her duty. Being an adolescent with a freshly growing mane, he wasn't exactly bound to stay within his mother all the time. Surely his siblings thought the same, at least those who decided to stay with their mother. Those who stayed with their father, Ezekiel of the Pride Lands, and their step mother, or as Eiji'dai came to know as his Aunt Safuma.
Moving around aimlessly, making sure that he could find his way back, he unknowingly started to head toward a female.Bright red eyes landed on the figure of a male heading toward her. While the encounter with Iar had been emotionally scarring for the lioness, it hadn't made her wary of all other males. At least not permanently. She'd given the first male she ran into after what happened a bit of trouble, but after spending some time among those of the Amazon pride she eventually let it go. Not all males were like him, after all. Assuming he'd just pass her by, Mai lowered her head down to her paws, deciding to spend a bit of time watching the blades of grass grow. Eventually her attention went to an insect that landed on one of the blades she'd been staring at.. Either way, she wasn't paying attention to anything else anymore. His attention perked up to the horizon in the female's directions, the golden ring in his hazel eyes seemed to glow brighter, more intense. In so, his expression unchanging as his paws began to move involuntarily. By the time he had reached the female, his attention snapped back, just a few steps away from the female. Shaking his head and putting on a smile, he cleared his throat to make her aware of his presence. Best not to surprise her. "Hello there. Name's Eiji'dai-er, just call me Dai."Upon hearing someone clear their throat, Mai glanced up only to see the male she'd noticed a few minutes ago. He'd been courteous enough to make his presence known as well as introduce himself first, so she raised her head and greeted him with a small nod of her head and a smile. "Tumaini, Mai for short. It's nice to meet you, Dai," she said, waving her paw to the spot in the shade, as if to invite him to sit and rest for a bit. "So what brings you out here?"

"Just wandering before my mother returns from her duty. Then my family and I are gonna be moving off again," he replied, slipping down nicely beside her. She was nice though to invite him, most would wait until they could mingle with him more. Still, it was polite. "So I walk around to take in my surroundings while I still can." The seer looked up the sky curious if that large black figure would pass over. "What about you?"
She smiled, a little embarrassed. "Actually I only planned on staying to rest for a little bit, but I ended up staying here for most of the afternoon." Mai gave a gentle sort of laugh before sighing. "I'm just passing by though, on my way home." The lioness tilted her head up, wondering what it was in the sky that caught his interest. There was nothing there, though, so she shrugged it off. "Anyway, isn't your mother going to worry about you?"
"My mother would come back whenever we need her to, otherwise, my siblings and I wait. Eventually, we'll pass our father's pride and we'll spend some time there, then we'll move on following our mom. You know, duty and stuff like that," He shrugged, still smile. "If we were in trouble, we are very capable of defending ourselves, but if we do get in over our heads, we got our mother," Dai chuckled. He must sound pathetic talking about his mother coming to their rescue. If only she knew.
"That's what parents are there for, though, right?" she replied with a small smile. "Those fortunate to have theirs around, anyway." Mai gave another shrug, though her smile hadn't faltered. It had more of a lonely feel to it now, though. "So I noticed to glanced up a little while ago," she started again, wanting a change in subject. "Were you looking for something in particular? Or just...looking because you felt like it?"
"Yeah, my mother's always moving and my father has his own family to take care of, my half siblings and all. It's a long and complicated story, but we are happy with how things turned out, I guess you could say I am lucky, but sometimes I wished I had both my parents together, but things just dun work that way, y'know?" Eiji'dai chuckled and stretched, laying down flat to ease his back a bit. He loved his father, he loved his mother, it was only natural to desire the both of them together, but they all knew that it was not possible. But still, he dreamt. "Oh! That... I was curious if my mother was back or not, that's all."

At that Mai raised a brow. "What would the sky have anything to do with your mother coming back..though?" she asked. The words came out slowly, as if she were hesitant to ask. And she was, though the expression on her face didn't reflect it much. In actuality, though, she wanted to ask more than a few questions concerning what he'd just said. Mai held her tongue, though, not wanting to pry too much. If he was willing to share, though, it might have been a little different. She'd be able to tell, though, if he was alright with the subject depending on the way he answered.
He wasn't one to lie or hide the fact that his mother was indeed what she was, it was one of the many things his father had taught him. Never lie. Eiji'dai smiled and looked up at the sky again. "Well, I was certain that my mother would have to pass by here in order to get back to where we had been settling. And she only prefers to travel one way when it comes to long distances. It is also how my siblings and I were able to become fast runners, just to keep up with her. There's a difference in the way we travel, she has the easier path, unobstructed and smooth sailing, as some say." The young seer stretched again and pushed himself up to his haunches. The sky was clear as ever, no signs of his mother. At least this meant a little more time before he would have to start running off somewhere again. "She flies."
She nodded every now and again as Dai started to answer her question. The more he said the more curious her expression became, and then when he finally finished talking Mai raised both her eyebrows in surprise, making an 'oh' sort of shape with her mouth. She made no sound, however, since it'd been quite a shock. She'd heard of such things, actually, though she never thought she'd run into the child of one such being. It was, after all, common knowledge among the higher-ups in her pride that the demon king answered to one such as Dai's mother. Though, with Dai being the way he was, Mai highly doubted his mother had anything to do with that pride. "I see.." was all she could muster, then she heaved a sigh and smiled. "That caught me off guard," Mai continued. "But I've heard of such beings before. It must be an interesting life you and your siblings lead, to have a mother like that. Correct me if I'm wrong, though."
"Interesting indeed, Mai. You see, because my mother was infatuated to my father, a mortal, we, her children, never ascended to the god realm like those offspring of a god and a goddess, but we are, in some others' eyes, above mortals. You see, we are seers, able to see the future, the past, and the present, but you know, not the type of thing you can just turn on and off," Eiji'dai explained, pulling a finger to his chin. If only the darn ability was an on and off sort of thing, but it seems like it is never like that. Nothing ever comes easy, but he cannot deny that it has been very useful for him in some cases. "But, still, even as seers, we act, live, sleep, eat, and do everything like everyone else that we meet. I assure you that we are no different aside our "birth right"," he added.
Mai nodded her head every now and again as he explained what it meant to be a 'seer'. It more or less made sense to her, though it'd probably be a bit more clear if she'd been a seer herself. Still, what he said was true enough, and she accepted that. "That seems a bit inconvenient," she said after a minute or so of letting the information just soak in. "I know a few others like you, come to think of it. Though I don't think all of them actually have the abilities that you do. I may just not be informed enough, but that may be because it isn't any of my business anyway."

"Well, being a seer is just another mortal that is seen as crazy. In fact, it was that ability that ended up leading me here, I'll be frank with you, Mai, I've already seen your face before even seeing it. At least know, I know your name," Eiji'dai smiled. Being a seer was something he never asked for, he simply accepted it. However, it was a gift he was happily accept from his parents. "My mother should return soon, it is almost night fall."
It was clear on her face that he surprised her, yet again, when he said that he'd already seen her face once before. Still, the femme shook her head and offered the other a smile. "Not to me, though," she said as she pushed herself off of the ground into a standing position. After a short stretch the lioness turned to Dai and gave a sort of nod. "It might be better if I stay here, but I think I'll get restless if I do, so I think I'll get moving too."
Eiji'dai raised to his feet and nodded as well. "Well I should head back to my brothers and sisters. I expect my mother to return shortly and our next location to move too will probably be far," The male smiled with a purr. "It was definitely a pleasure meeting you, Mai, and I hope our encounter gave you better understanding of my sort of lions. Now, I best be off and I hope the best for you." With another nodd of the seer, he started to head back the way he came, hoping for his mother's return and a few steps closer to his father.
"It was nice meeting you too, Dai. I wander these roguelands often enough, so hopefully we'll run into each other again." Mai watched as the seer started going back the way he came, then after a minute or so she started off on her walk again too. She went in the opposite direction, though. As she went her conversation with Dai rolled around in her head several times. She still couldn't completely grasp the idea of being able to see into the future - the cons, anyway. As far as she was concerned, there could only be pros to such an ability. Maybe she'd understand though.. someday.
