Today was simply beautiful. The sun was a glorious piece of gold shining in the sky above. Little buds of assorted flowers graced the earth with their magnificent scent. Tiny chicks chirped within their nests as their mother flitted down next to them, ready to distribute todays meal.
Oh, yes, life was wonderful today. Vexus was practically floating as he meandered up the path, his stomach full of the sweet water that flowed in a stream not to far from where his beloved resided with their two beautiful eggs. His eyes misted up just thinking of his increidible luck. Not only did he manage to fulfill his needs as a surrogate son to Stormwind and help provide for her large broad, he'd been able to find the love of his life and now, on top of everything else, he was a father.
Everything about him was glowing at that moment. " I love you, life. " Laughing at his own stupid statement, his kissed a visible vein on his left foreleg and trotted on up to his home.

 The chirping of birds awoke the sleeping mother. Her eyes fluttered open; stiffling a yawn she stretched out beside the most beautiful eggs she had ever seen. She nuzzled the eggs, memorizing the texture of each. The white of the eggs illuminated them in that dark cave, Kaie's hide blening in with the shadow. Her eyes searched out the cave opening, longing for her 'better half'. How lucky she had been to stuble upon this sunbeam in her life. "Today is beautiful." Again she nuzzled the eggs, pushing them closer to the warm light outside.

" Good morning, love. " Vexus padded up the cave entrance, his eyes ever watchful as his eggs were scooted out to warm. Like him, both eggs would hatch into white hatchlings, though one had suspicious indigo markings and he hoped he wouldn't dominate the gene pool. Only time could tell, really, and right now, he was content with them staying eggs.
His mate's darker coat made it harder for him to spot her, but once he did, Vexus wasted no time in coming around to her side. He rubbed his muzzle against hers affectionately and beamed. " Someone finally decided to wake up. "

Kaie loved his touch, the warmth of the day radiating from him."I just dint want to be awake without you here with me." She nuzzled him again. She eyed the eggs and then their father. Would they show any sign that they were hers? Only one egg held her color and even that one was mostly white like her mate. They would be Vexus's children. A small pang tugged at her heart, only to be healed at the sight of her mate. His white hide shined in the sun, the rest of him was illuminated beautifully in the shadow. Kaie eyed her own hide; dark.

His heart skipped a beat as the skin under his fur flushed, just like the teenager he often felt like. " I'll remember to hang around, then. " Sighing softing, he stretched out his forelegs and slunk down into a crouch by his eggs. " Their beautiful, aren't they? You are so amazing, Kaie. I don't think I could have ever done what you did. "
Laying his head over on his leg, he scooted over into the sunlight and cuddled the eggs closer to him, grinning from cheek to cheek. He'd been raised to believe that females were more important in the food chain than males, but still, that belief had been hollow. Now, he was a devoted worshipper.

Kaie shook her head, smiling as she stretched out beside Vexus. "They are beautiful, they'll look just like their father." Again she nuzzled him, touching her muzzle to her twins afterwards. "We did this together. Without you, this would never have happened." Kaie layed her head down, motherhood had made her tired. She eyed her mate through slitted eyelids, a smile spreading across her face. Watching Vexus with the eggs warmed her heart, loving how devoted he was already to them.

Vexus frowned and shook his head, ruffling the bush of golden mane falling over his eyes. " They'll look like you as well, you know that. Fur color means nothing. " He hadn't even realized that Kaie may have concerns and it bothered him that she did.
Movement in the eggs stirred him into a half-way upright position. Crack. A little foot poked out of the egg with the indigo spots and he gasped, tapping Kaie's shoulder furiously with his paw while looking on completely helpless. He was going to be a dad today. A dark paw followed it, black talons gleaming and what looked like a fingerless glove marked onto his skin flexing in the sunlight. The hatchling made a sort of whimpering sound when it found the light and slithered back in.
Vexus chuckled and after calming, bent forward to pry the youngster out with his snout. He grasped a little tail in his mouth and tugged, efficently popping the little runt into the world.
Victor closed his eyes and whimpered, squirming around on the cave floor while he mewled. The bright sunlight made every relfex in his body tense up and curl in on themselves. His bright blue eyes, the very same as his mothers, cracked open only once to look at the blurred visions of his parents before closing.

Kaie's head snapped up, the wiggling of the eggs holding her attention. She watche in awe as Vexus helpe dthe first of the twins out of the egg. The breath in her lungs caught at the sight of a familiar birthmark. The ankle cuffs, the shoulder star, the eyemark. This baby was a perfect mixture between the two. "Oh, Vexus...He's beautiful.." All words escaped her. The second egg began to shake harder, rolling back and forth. Kaie's eyes widenned as the egg rolled over the cave floor.
A white paw pushed through the egg, illuminated in the light as its father. Kaie nuzzled the egg, parts of the shell falling away at her touch. The hatching rolled around in its cracking egg, crushing the shell. A smile played on Kaie's features; they were the perfect children. Apollo continued to roll on his former cage;crushing the shell to oblivion. He kept his eyes shut tight, light streaming in through the lids. Crawling on the cave floor, he found his brother; a fragment of his imagination in the eggshell, now he was real. Apollo nuzzled his brother, attention going quickly to the large looming figures over him. His eyes fluttered open, catching their colors and features. He whimpered quietly, warmth he had known in the egg quickly escaping replaced by the cool air in the cave.

Vexus' shock at seeing the indigo babe emerging was only doubled when the golden child arrived. His eyes were the exact same as his fathers, a family tradtion no doubt. The elder dragon leaned back to examine his sons with something akin to awe. Every fiber of his body was warm with it.
Leaning over to casually brush along side his mate, Vexus whispered, " No, Kaie. Their beautiful. Two sons to carry on our legacy. I could never be happier."
His tail snaked out to cup the golden one, prodding around the fireworks near his eye and the wheeled marking on his shoulder. Such beautiful boys, surely to become magnificent men.
Victor nudged himself away from Apollo, disliking the personal invasion all too soon in his young life. He was...pleased to feel that he wasn't alone in this strange world. The shapes above him mottled back into view when he opened his sapphire eyes, seeking out the brother who had nuzzled him, and for possibly the last time in a lifetime, snuggled up with him to regain warmth.

Kaie smiled, nuzzling into her mate. Her eyes fell lovingly on the sons before her, cuddling for warmth. "Yes. Two pieces of imortality." She could name the orgin from every feature the twins had. Using her muzzle, Kaie nuddged them closer to the warming sun. Her heart swelled with love and pride. These were her children, and they were wonderful
Apollo nuzzled closer to his brother, the rest of his skin feeling colder than where they touched. As his eyes began to focus, he really started to notice his surroundings. The sunlight on his flesh felt harsh, dangerous and yet comforting. Apollo snuggled his brother, pushing him into the sunlight to warm him as well. If one brother could enjoy the sun, both should.
