We need more activity...I have been posting regularly on the guild threads...
and I have seen no further posts in the last few days after my posts...

I'd help more but I ran out of things to post, and I suck at starting discussion topics. sweatdrop

As a mod of the GotGoth? Guild (one of the biggest Goth Guilds on Gaia), here's some suggestions to keep your guild alive and build some interaction-

1) Give out invites like candy. Set a goal for yourself (the creator) to give out at LEAST ten invites a day, and tell all of your mods to give out at least five. Go through big forums and look for threads that might attract people who would also like this guild- The Steampunk thread in the Lifestyle Forum, for example. Give out invites quickly and with discrimination; if someone looks or sounds like they might like ANY aspects of this guild, invite them. New users post and help invigorate old and new topics alike.

2) Open more topics, and make them less generic.

A movie thread, for example, is just too broad. A movie sticky? Sure, throw one up. But a thread that broad just doesn't stimulate conversation. Instead of trying to keep that generic movie thread afloat, try opening a dozen threads, each one being for a different movie or category, especially movies or categories that people in this guild may like. For example, what did people think of The Craft? The Crow? Tim Burton? German Expressionism? Eraserhead?

This same proliferation can be done for music threads, fashion threads, religious/spiritual thread, and so forth. Political threads are often a magnet for discussion, as well as lifestyle threads. The more places people to have to talk, the more they're likely to find something they want to talk about. The more people post in the guild, the more attached they'll grow, and will be likely to return.

3) Don't recruit inside other goth guilds. It'll come across as aggressive, like you're trying to "steal" their members. Contact people through PM's, make it more personal. Don't just open an advertising thread that vaguely caters to everyone. A PM invitation seems special, pointed.

I think those are some very good ideas, I've actually been curious how the larger guilds like that manage to stay afloat without aggressively going after people in a way that makes them feel almost as if they were being stalked (Ive had people who do that with the friend's lists of guild members) or harassed.
