Well, yes, they have officially changed their name however.
H.I.M refered to them before they came to America, though having no real meaning, it was often refered to as His Infernal Majesty, however, that was never claimed by the band. When they made their move to America, by use of the record label owned by Jimmy Pop of Blood Hound Gang, they changed their name to HER, because of a christian band from Chicago, however, after a short time, they reverted back to just HIM, without meaning to any of the letters.
