I've read through guide after guide for CSS all around Gaia and I'm still stuck with nothing learned. I don't even know where to begin. What do I start with? How do I see what I'm doing without showing everyone I'm in the middle of working on a profile? What codes mean what? What am I supposed to type where? I feel especially lost when I try to edit my profile page, because when I only type something that I think is just setting the background image of the page, and I hit save, I still see everything else there on top of the background. As for how to start, most of the "better" guides I've seen leave me thinking, "Ok... Great information. Now how the hell do I use it?" I'm sure I sound quite irritated, but that's because it feels like this thing is taking the english language I know, twisting it in tangles, throwing it back at my face and laughing as I get confused. I feel like I'm being mocked because I spent an entire day sitting in front of the computer, and I haven't even been able to get started.

In short, I have absolutely no idea what to do, and no guide I've found so far even bothers to explain how to start from nothing. They all seem to expect the reader to know some sort of basic knowledge.

All I have available to start with is:
- Open Profile Theme.
- Set the pull down menu to Custom.
- Start typing something? Type what?

Basically, what I'm asking is "How do I start?". Along with a billion other little questions.


Nevermind. I've gotten some help from a friend of mine. Now my question is:

Is it possible to change the dimensions of the top banner? I want to make mine 760px wide and 300px tall.

Nevermind... after a lot of long hours and a lot of help, I kinda got it.
