How many gameboys/DS's have you owned?

I don't know if you guys have ever thought about this or brought this up in the forum, but this came up during a discussion with my family, and I thought I'd ask around to see if the numbers we came up with are common.

Long story short, my mother recently got herself got a DSi to replace her DS lite, which was smashed when one of my brothers threw it down a flight of stairs (hard, but it was an accident). It got us talking about how many of Nintendo's portables we've owned over the years, which is quite a few, since we're a whole family of gamers.

Right now we're all on our DS's:

1 old original DS (mine)
2 DS lites (my two brothers)
1 DSi (my mom's)

Before that, we had our gameboy advances, which I believe are still lying around somewhere:

5 originals (one each, plus a replacement for another that was smashed)
4 SP's (we all upgraded when they came out)

And then there were the original gameboys:

2 gameboy colors (my youngest brother never had one, too young)
1 gameboy pocket (My mother's)

We realized that over the years we've spent not hundreds but thousands of dollars on the actual portables alone, not counting games. My father laughed at us when we realized this, until one of my brothers pointed out that he was the one who had really paid for all of them...

So... yeah. Does anyone else have a similar situation, having spent a lot of money on these little guys? It really does seem to add up.

One gameboy color. One gameboy advance. One gameboy advance SP. One Nintendo DS.


It'll probably stay that way until nintendo releases something past the DSi. (unless you count the ipod touch, I have one of those)

And I used to have a regular Game Boy and a regular Game Boy Advance, too.

And that's just my stuff, not counting my brother's or sister's.

5 Gameboy SP's
3 DS lite's (my younger brother has one, my older one has had one break and got a new one.)
3 Gameboy colors.
2 Gameboy Advances.

I've had 2 (one got lost, probably stolen, other one I still have)
My younger brother has had 2 (both broke)
My older brother has had 1.

Lets see... during my time, I've had:
- 1 Original Gameboy
- 1 GBC
- 1 GBA
- 1 GBA:SP
- 1 GBA:Micro
- 1 Original DS
- 1 DS Lite


I don't have the OGB or the GBA now because of unfortunate circumstances or just pure charity.

I'll have to get a Pocket just for continuity's sake (and play Trax or Megaman 2 one of these days on the bus ride). 3nodding

None of this counts Dark's or Mazey's stuff either.

Christ, yes. We've got a pile of the things sitting in the garage. Although it means that I get all the old ones to myself for now. biggrin

In case random people are curious, here's my whole family's handheld Nintendo collection:
-1 Game Boy Pocket
-4 Game Boy Color
-1 Game Boy Advance
-3 Game Boy Advance SP
-1 Game Boy Micro
-4 Nintendo DS
-3 DS Lite

There's probably an original Game Boy and another Game Boy Color in there somewhere, but I wasn't sure.
