Dear Goddess the days have been getting stranger and stranger! First that flighty leopard...thing.. tried to flirt with her. Then another leopard but will a poor disformed cub that he swore was an adult..Cheetah? Bekile snorted faintly muttering about the likely hood of there actualling being a cat like that in the world. Not to meantion those very very odd twin dog...things.
Auri’samaki was moving unhurriedly across the Savannah, orange eyes sweeping the area in front of her. Even though her eyes were looking she wasn’t really seeing anything, she was too distracted by her thoughts to be paying attention. She had left Sinzia’s side that morning to go hunting on her own, a couple hours later and still unable to track down prey Auri felt a feeling she wasn’t used to. She found that she missed Sin, she’d never missed anyone before, it was a new and strange feeling that she wasn’t used too.
Luckily for her even when she wasn’t paying attention her nose was still working and when she caught scent of a lion she began laughing surprised. Well a lion wasn’t exactly prey, but maybe they knew where the herds had gone. Glancing around the female searched for the source of the scent and it didn’t take her long to spot a dark coloured lioness on the horizon. Picking up her pace she called out to the other, ”Hullo there!” She chuckled, stopping not too far from the lioness.
Bekile blinked a few times stunned as she stared at the bright orange creature infront of her...What in the name of the great goddess was THAT?! She tilted her head as she sat up studying the bright orange female before her. "uh..hello.."
The hyena paused waiting for the lionesses reaction, when it wasn’t an angry or violent one she grinned. ”Lovely day isn’t it?” As she spoke her streaked tail swished back and forth. She glanced around and then back to the lioness. She hoped she’d be able to help her, the hyena was getting pretty hungry after hours of failed hunting. And she was worried Sinzia might start wondering where she was.
"What are you?" Bekile blurted then winced as she canted her ears back slightly. Damn but that was rude and she knew it. "Forgive me, I just.. I don't think I have ever seen anyone quiet like you before."
Auri burst out laughing at the bluntness of the question, her grin growing. ”What am I?” She smother chuckles, amused that the lioness had never seen a hyena before. ”I’m a hyena of course, my name’s Auri’samaki.”
"I am Thembekile, but please my friends all call me Bekile." Her violet eyes danced at the laughter knowing that the ..hyena?.. wasn't laughing at her but instead was laughing with her.
”Well, Bekile, it’s a pleasure.” She grinned and then glanced around before looking back to the lioness. ”You wouldn’t of happened to have seen any prey animals around these parts would you? I’ve been hunting but so far the prey has been scarce.”
"Can't say that I have Auri'samaki but if you wouldn't mind abit of wait I could fetch you some fish the swamps aren't too far from there."
”Oh, just call me Auri.” She chuckled and glanced around. There were swamps nearby? She hadn’t known that and she made a mental note to steer clear of them. She had a feeling she wouldn’t do so well in a swamp. ”It would be much appreciated if you could, I have…” She trailed off, Sinzia wasn’t exactly her mate but they seemed like they could be more than friends. Shaking herself mentally she continued. ”I have a friend who’s waiting for me to come back.”
Bekile nodded as she got to her feet heading back the way she came. The sun had barely moved an inch in the sky when the short, stocky lioness came trotting back a big fat fish gripped firmly in her jaws. Oh she would probally get in trouble if another pride member saw her feeding an outsider but she didn't think they would be too angry.
Auri smiled watching the lioness walk off and then she turned in place before settling down on the ground. She laid her head on her paws, waiting for Bekile to return. It didn’t take very long for the lioness to return and Auri got to her paws with a grin. ”Wow, that’s a big fish.” She laughed and moved towards the other female, ”Thank you very much, Bekile.”
Nodding, she dropped the fish at the hyenas feet. Stepping back a few feet, she shook the rest of the water out of her fur before rolling against the ground to finish drying herself off.
Grinning Auri dipped her head and began tearing into the fish, her strong jaws easily breaking the fish’s fragile bones. It didn’t take her very long to finish off the fish and she lifted her head, licking her maw clean. ”Thank you again, I’ve never had fish before. That was quite tasty.” She chuckled as she finished cleaning herself.
"Living in the swamps I eat a lot of fish," She grinned playfully her whiskers twishing. She rather liked these hyenas, she seemed like a fun type of gal.
Auri nodded, ”I’ve never seen a swamp.” She laughed and gave herself a good shake. Glancing up at the sky she realized how far the sun had moved since she had left Sinzia. Looking back down to Bekile she smiled. ”Well, I hate to eat and run but my friend’s waiting for me, I should probably get going.”
"Have a safe trip Auri. If you find yourself out this way again stop by and look for me. I am generally around." Bekile smiled as she settled back down against the ground. Out of all the new friends she had met, Auri had become her favorite. She wa sjust so..happy!
”Thank you, and I will.” Auri grinned and nodded a farewell before turning and heading back in the direction that she had came from. Bekile had been very nice and the orange hyena had to chukle as she thought about what Sinzia would think of her.
