 Runa smiled gently as she leaned down to dip her muzzle in the water, watching with fascination as the ripples expanded out from her touch. To others, it might be a boring way to spend the afternoon...certainly her father thought so, but to the dark mare it was peaceful. Suddenly she lunged to her feet and shook her mane out.
The wanderlust that had gripped her father, suddenly gripped her. She set her hooves against the trail and just began to walk the vauge idea of going to see her mother and sister forming in her mind. She missed them so much it was defiantly time to go see them!

 Starlet nosed her mother making sure she was asleep. It was a loud and long morning for the Herd at Luna's teepee. Although things seemed to be getting better, even if slowly. Starlet let out a heavy sigh. She wondered why Liberty wasn't staying there to help. Or Runa for that matter. She hadn't seen her sister since she was foal. Or her father. It made her a little angry inside that her own father seemed to just take her sister, the one she was suppose to grow up with and just leave... Leaving her to take care of her mother during her episodes. Luckily Istas felt a connection and would help trap Forte in so she didn't take off during some of the worse days.
She let her ears twitch and she gave a stretch, heading to the river. It wasn't even like Runa and her father were all that far away, but the few times she had the chance to leave she always seemed to just miss them. Luckily Hugs and Pendence, her grandparents would talk with her. But she didn't get to leave all that often in case her mother fell into an episode. She walked into the river, she would need to be quite, and she worked on cleaning off her pelt.

Runa blinked a few times trying to make sure her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. It was Starlet!! She let out a happy squeal as she raced towards her sister. "Star!!" Lord how she had grown!! It seemed like only yesterday they had been fillies playing hide and seek in the tall grasses.
Skidding to a stop next to her sister, she nickered happily nuzzling her neck and shoulders. "I have missed you sissy! It's been so sad at home. How is momma? I miss her, daddy misses her too." The normally calm mare couldn't stop babbling as she beamed at her sister.

Starlet was enjoying the quiet. she had closed her eyes and stood there. The Squeal caused her to jump, and look around almost franticly for the cause, but it was .. What? "Runa?" She blinked And the constant babbling caused her ears to twitch and then she tried to hush her a little. She was all grown up. Well of course she was, for she herself was, but the body of blue on her was bright, and stood out. For some reason she didn't feel as excited as she thought she might have after such a long time. She tilted her head a little and gave a nuzzle. She was just tired. She didn't even have the energy to go play anymore.
"What are you doing in this neck of the woods?" She laughed a little. She wondered why papa hadn't come with her. Her grandparents had mentioned he was gone alot... Maybe he went looking for that half Kalona mare again like moma had told her about. He missed out on her growing up... It made her a little upet. What about Runa, was he there for her at all? Or did Hugs and Pendence raise her?
"Ah well you know.. things are... going." She smiled some. "How are grandma, and Grandpa?"

Runa blinked calming as she noticed her sister's tiredness Nickering softly, she smiled at Star, "Come. Let's go recline under that tree." Nodding her head towards a large oak tree, she trotted away from the trail to the cool shadow of the tree.
Lowering herself to the ground she smiled at her sister lovingly. "Nana is still nana. Chasing butterflies and wandering off. Pawpaw Pen is still grumpy but he takes care of Nana. I spend a lot of time with Nana Nene and PawPaw Spike." She giggled thinking about the grumpy old wolf and the odd unicorn stallion there had been a second set of grandparents and care givers to her.

Starlet looked over at his sister. She was so lucky to have all that care... She got to be happy and carefree.She let her pink eyes look over at her mother would was still asleep... And then moved to follow her sister.She was envious of how her sister could be like that. She knew if she left her mother could could possibly get that chance too but... She couldn't leave her mother. One day she would get better and everything would be okay... But it just felt like th family had a rift in it. And that was something Starlet was unsure of how feel about. Everyone over at that teepee usually were always happy... It almsot wasn't fair. Where was her father? He should have been there, he said he loved her, and then just took off. She wished Runa had stayed there too, so she wasn't always feeling alone... but it wasn't her sisters fault really...
She plopped herself on the ground, it felt nice to get off her legs for a little, and it was nice there in the shade. "Well thats good to hear~ " She smiled some. "Lailah's gotten herself a mate.. But we haven't met him. He can't come out in the sun. And Astrophel now lives up in the sky with other angles... and Istas is still Istas, ever changing. " She laughed some.

Runa chuckled softly as she nodded her head. She knew only vaguely the others that Star was talking about. The more her sister spoke though, the more she could feel something was wrong within her sister. She just seemed so...sad and distant. Runa was unsure what was the problem.
"Daddy is talking to Pawpaw about going to live with you and momma." She suddenly blurted then winced sighing. Well that was certainly smooth. Shaking her head she tried to gather her words so that she could make more sense.
"He said that he has missed momma and that he misses you. "

Oh great. Starlet thought. After all this time, he wants to come back. She mumbled a bit under her breath and she sighed. She didn't want to think about this. Maybe she could plan her trip with Mecho, when he came to stay. And it sounded like she had no intention of coming there either. It figured.
Falling onto her side, she had learned to enjoy what alone time she could get. She had plans with Req today too... She closed her eyes and tried to calm herself down. Req had saved her. If the stallion hadn't been around Starlet would have been depressed, and gotten fat and lazy... But he was took care of her, as odd as that might be, for he was a stallion of little words. They were truly an odd pairing of friends.
Her day had taken a turn she wasn't looking for. She hoped that their mother would stay asleep, because she might not be in her right state if she woke, and Starlet had already dealt with it today. Maybe Liberty coming wasn't going to be THAT bad. Gave her the change to get out.

Runa watched her sister silently for awhile before heaving herself to her feet to pace around the tree. When she was nervous the plunky little mare couldn't be still.
"Do...Star do you hate me?"
The words slipped out before she could stop them. As if they were a dam, something instead her seemed to break and she couldn't stop the words that followed.
"I know we weren't together and I'm sorry. It was my fault that I didn't find you and I am sorry just please don't hate me..."

Starlet let her eyes follow her sister around, and then the thing she was trying to escape from flooded out. The dam broke, and it was swallowing the two mares up.
"I don't know." Starlet said flatly. He wanted to lie and say of course not, but she knew her bitterness was showing. "I know its not your fault. He just took you, and you were to young to come back... Then he left. You had gotten comfortable." She smiled a little.
"I just feel like I don't know you, or him... Or even mom. She's not the same." She twitched her ears a bit and looked over at their mother.

Runa blinked stunned as she stared at her sister. She....she hated her? But... they were family. Family couldn't hate family! "Star...." Her voice trailed off unhappy as she stared at the pink mare that so looked like their father.
She shot a look over at her. "What are you expecting? we're the same age, and I'm perfectly able to go out and do what I want... But I can't because I have had to take care of mom. You could have ventured by whenever you wanted. And you never did..."
"We had to be near Piya. We almost lost her one too many times."
"Piya, isn't your blood. You almost lost her? Moma was almsot gone too! And she's ONLY had me. NO ONE ELSE. That other mare has the other herd members.. Grandpa and Grammy. Moma only has me." She barked back at her and stomped that ground. "That is NOT an excuse for not being here."
Runa scowled her ears laying flat back. "Family is more than just blood. And you could have come to us at any time too. You can't blame all this on me. You are just all to happy to play the victume when you could have asked for help at any time!"
"Really? How did you want me to get there? Let moma wander off and not be able to find her again? There's no one here helping me. I have to watch her 24/7 Runa. Thats why I'm like this. Istas was kind enough to tend for her when I was a foal because Moma took her in when she was a basket, but she had a life to live and left. It's been just me... I couldn't ever come, because I couldn't leave her side. I hoped every day that you or Papa would come by just to say high and see that we needed help, but no one ever came. So sure Runa... I'm playing the victim, because I had no one else to dump her on, so I could stalk my father and sister down." She turned around and walked a few steps away.
Runa scowled at her back snorting faintly. It was -not- her fault and she would be damned if Star was going to make her feel like it was. "Then fine, Leave. Dad is going to be with her. You are free so just leave."
"Of course I'm going to leave. It's the dominat gene we inhereted from him." She looks over at Forte who was still somehow asleep. "I wanted to go and see you, but I couldn't jsut leave her. I thought something was wrong... and then i thought; maybe, if I'm thinking somethings wrong, you would be too, not seeing me or her since we emerged. But it probably never crossed your mind, since you have a new family." She looked back at Runa. She didn't understand how not even hearing from them, her father and sister never came to see... Maybe she was blowing it out of proportion. But she didn't feel like she was. She hadn't even gotten to see Req in months...
".....I wanted to come see you, but I couldn't go alone. I was too little and Dad couldn't leave them. When Pawpaw was with Piya Dad had to be with Nana Hugs. Dad saved Piya twice when she tried to throw herself into the river. "
"Well I'm glad she's more important then his mate that he started a family with. Who most of the time, doesn't even know who any of us are. Or where she is. She likes to wander... Maybe He'll get lucky when he's not paying just enough attention a kalona will nab her." She snarled. "Just go away Runa. She's going to wake soon.
Laying her ears flat back, the little pony stared at the mother she so resembled before spinning around to galloping for home. She -had- no sister.
