Sinbad: (9:36:11 PM): He hadn't moved much that morning. Much to his young son's growing aggrivation. It all happened so fast, so suddenly. It was enough to send even his head spinning. Then again.... he was never the most mentally stable individual in the world.
His mother had grown old. One morning she just....didn't wake up. He'd seen death, blood-bathed roaring deaths during the rebellion. It wasn't the same. She didn't get a warrior's death, she'd simply whithered away. Somehow it seemed unfair. Thankfully, however, she didn't have to live to see the rebels loose everything that they'd fought for. The ideals impressed into her children crushed under the paw of their goddess.
Shortly after, his father had left as well. Most of the cubs- both his own and his younger siblings- had opted to remain in the one place they knew as home- the desert. All of them were far too proud to admit it, but the thought of setting paw outside of the desert was more frightening than war or death itself. The goddess wanted them to infultrate the new pride? To spread themselves through their lines.... made sense, but he wasn't the patient sort.
Afzal had left...his brother. The only one that seemed to really understand him...had left.
He sneered and glanced over his shoulder. He was laying on his belly, paws to his side sprawled out. Not exactly the most dignified position for him- but he was comfortable. Screw anyone that questioned him.
Karana: (9:39:45 PM): After obtaining an apprentice Karana'Mzaana felt, satisfied, in a strange way. She had never had a family of her own, to her knwoledge, she had lost any memory of tat, and no memories had filtered back yet so she had given up on what the past may have been and what hte present and future held for her and the home that was now her own. She loved the desert, the way it felt under her paws, she loved seeing life, loved watching the cubs and juveniles grow and become apprenticed, family, family was important to her in a way that no one might be able to comprehend. Flicking her tail she moved upon the dunes, tired and her paws ached as she walked, she had been carving for most of the day already, adn felt a need tor est and relax, though those ideas were cut short when she saw a large loafing form before her, and she quirked a brow and smiled to herself.
It was knowledge that the combination had happened, that everyone would become one, that this would be one pride and not two divided by beliefs, but that was fine with her, more faces, more in her large scale family that she loved with her heart. He was alone, bol and red and ...tired it seemed, and her smile spread across her maw, eyes softened, he was one of them, them, meaning a new one of her family. Though she wondered if he would accept her presence with his own fi she ventured forth, or would he walk away, unsettled still by the merge. "Hello?" she called and questionea loud, taking a few short steps towards him, hoping he would not turn from her.
Sinbad: (9:46:41 PM): The lion watched lazily as she approached, his mismatched eyes seemed dull, unintersted. He was just as large as his father had been and well-muscled from the training demanded of himself and his siblings, though he didn't particularly seem too keen on using either to his advantage at the present moment.
He didn't answer her right away. For a while he simply starred, his eyes unmoving from her face. One of them was talking to him? How cute. Breaking the ice perhaps? Maybe they'd heard of his family's reputation and wanted to make friends in case he lost his temper...as much as he loved the idea- that didn't seem to be the case. She didn't look afraid. He couldn't put a claw on what she looked like.
"You want somethin?" he answered simply, dully.
Karana: (9:49:25 PM): She came to stop a little before him, her slate eyes looking at his dual colored hues, they were, intriguing, enticing, and she stared for a moment, and shook her head, what was she doing? Manners, she was a historian and could only be this way, right? She offered a smile and sat on her haunches before im as he still lazed about, but that was fine, she only wished to speak, not take his spot. "I wanted to meet yu, introduce myself rather, I try to take premise in meetin everyone within the pride, to meet a new face to record in our history," she said turning and raising a paw to point to the giant sates in the distance, "Thats where everything of the Firekin, old and new is." (cont.)
She looked back to him, smiling, nonstopping, "I am the Historian of the Simo," pride was in her voice and on her tongue, she peered at him, his markings, his eyes, "Your from, an old blood line, old meaning rooted of course, no offense I assure you," she couldn't help it, trying to place everyone. "I am Karana'Mzaana, though you may call me Karana or Mzaa, whichever you might prefer," she said with a nod, a slight bow of her head in respect to him, "A pleasure to meet you."
Sinbad: (10:01:29 PM): His expression didn't change. Bored perhaps...maybe he didn't quite understand what she was saying- with him it was always hard to tell. If anything, he'd learned how to mask his thoughts .
She wanted to meet him...introduce herself.... What was this? A royal consoltation? Why the formality? The more she talked, the more his mouth opened. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. History? Recording? What were they, the mistweavers!? Pansy little whimps sitting in caves dipping their paws in berry juice and srubbing doodles on the rocks? Fantastic. Just wonderful.
Finally he responded. Somewhat. His maw curled into a smirk at first, it grew slowly until finally the male rolled himself to his back and roared in laugher.
Karana: (10:04:57 PM): Karana watched him, and for a moment her chest swelled in hapiness, he was smiling, smirking, but it was close, and as it grew, so did her hopes of meeting another, the exchange of names, the addition to her family, her pride, and then, it shattered as he roared in laughter, Her ears fell back, eyes narrowed but not in anger, in, disbelief. Was this what they were like towards them? No, she couldn't make this skeptical thought so soon, she had not even learned his name. "I was only-" he laughed even still, and her thoughts were interrupting, She felt her eyes get cold, no, she was strong, a firekin lioness, there was no room for weakness, but, why would he?
"I just-" she lost her train of thought once more, and as he did not cease, her thought of assurance fell, a warrior, what about honor, respect, did the rebels deserve none? The simo opened their borders, they were to be a family now, a family! Her veins felt hot, in anger, and she grit her teeth together, jaw clenched shut to keep herself from saying anything wrong, she had respect for him, for anyone, did he not see with those dual colored eyes? As she watched him, his minstrations, she could see more of his pelt, and she squinted her eyes, a realization, Mwali? The line of Mwali? She gave a slight turn from him, disappointed, "I believe your father would have had more respect for the preservation of the Firekin history, BELIEFS, from the Safi and the Simo, neither forgotten..." she knew she had no right to assume father to son, and wondered if her words would disappoint him as his laughter did to her.
Sinbad: (10:13:17 PM): The laugher roared on, even through her final comment. It didn't seem to bother him. His father either would have laughed...or the 'new' father would have been confused. No one -recorded- anything. That wasn't their style. You were remembered if you carved your name in the hides of your enemies, you were remembered if the pride trumbled at your name, if the other warriors fought harder to be even a shadow in your presense. Not by a doodle on a rock.
Just as suddenly as it had started, his laughter ended. He flashed a full mouth of teeth her way in a twisted, perhaps even slightly unstable, smile. "Isnt that adorable...."

Karana: (10:18:10 PM): "What? My trying to meet you, know your name, know someone else within my family?" her eyes watched him, as she turned towards him, fire in her blood, though she resisted the idea to attack, to make him, shut his maw, though her leg still pained her, even nw, it ached from all the walking she had done on it, though she was angry, didn't he see that? Why did he act the way he did, "You dont understand," she looked at him, gave him a sneer of her own, "I've heard of you, not your name, your description at least. You have a daughter here don't you? Fairly black though carrying a mark of her 'family'? She wears it proudly, though I wonder why," with a father like him, why would the child idolize him? Though she wouldn't dare say it aloud.(cont)
She wanted to ask why his daughter stayed, why she did not move on, but she would not question, not act the way he might, why couldn't he just tell her his name and then be a new part of her family? He didn't understand, he couldn't grasp the concept, or wouldn't, one of the two.
Sinbad: (10:27:06 PM): Sinbad stretched his large paws over him then folded them behind his back. Another lazy posture that he'd carried on from his cubhood, though he would look more comfortable than anything. It was a quiet, subtle indication that he wasn't intimidated at all.
"I've more than a daughter. Got a few of mine running around here. Impressive lot...even if their mother was a weakling." He chuckled again, "Well I gotta say, I thought I'd be long dead before I saw the kindred grow soft. "
Karana: (10:31:52 PM): Karana gave him a look, and sighed, soft? "The Simo are anything but soft, we prooved our strength, and some of us lost," she didn't make a motion to her leg, but as she walked, sometimes she would limp, but as she would turn from him, she would try her hardest to not let it show. She flicked her tail at him, turned from him and gave him a glare, "It you want to see how 'soft' we," referring to herself, "can be, you know where to look,"
She turned from him and grimaced as she walked, feeling a pang of pain through her muscle, and she closed her eyes and walked from him, but knew this was far from over, "Its not over," she mumbled under her breath, glancing over her shoulder to get one last glance, she would remember the face, although it would have no name.
Sinbad: (10:38:49 PM): "I'm terrified." He answered dully. "Truely... I am."
So they were outnumbered... if he and his siblings had been fully grown during that battle the outcome would have been different- he was convinced as such. Afterall... who would -dare- challange him? His father's size and strength? His mother's burning ambition. Not to mention his looks. The lionesses would be swooning, not growling.
He smirked and shrugged again. "Yeah yeah." he waved a paw. "I'll come find you if I need a bedtime story."
