 Home. Home at last. Kannon took a deep breath, glad to be surrounded by the smell of her pride. The place where she'd finally found a true home. Smiling, she nudged her two cubs forward, towards the center of the pridal lands, where the dens were. She'd probably have to do a little cleaning in the den...but that was easy enough. "Well....this is our home Akemi, Yuuko. Antianeira." She gave each one a nuzzle. "And considering the vigilance here, I think you'll get to meet another member soon...Maybe even the Queen or her Heir. They're both very strong lionesses." Yuuko protested as she was pushed forward. "Mother! I CAN move on my own!" She trotted forward a few steps, as if to prove her point. Then she turned back and grinned, mischief in her red-brown eyes. "See! So...are there other cubs? Lots of places to play, or lay in the sun?"

Hippolyta trotted confidently through the lands of her pride, the placed she'd grown up in and felt utterly safe. She'd heard from the patrols that another member of the pride had returned, the first of them beyond her mother to go out and return with girl cubs to grow the pride's numbers. The black female was excited to go see the new little ones, and since she was done with her share of the hunting and patroling, she figured she had the time to go and greet the returning 'sister'.
Her smile playful and her steps light, she leaped over fallen log with graceful playfulness and continued on her way, her tail swaying along behind her. Round ears perked to the sound of something moving nearby and she homed in on it, curious to see if this was the returner.

 Akemi giggled at her sister's reaction as they were pushed onwards.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that!" Akemi half ran, half hopped, over to her sister, and made an attempt at tripping her, which only made her giggle more.
Akemi's ears then perked, as her mother said 'strong', and her eyes lit up with something akin to worship and admiration. Akemi wanted to be a strong lioness. Her heart beat for it.

Kannon chuckled at Yuuko's show. "Of course, love." And at the shine in Akemi's eyes, she nodded. The pride was full of strong lionesses. Even she was strong, in her own way. "There are a few other cubs, maybe more since I have been gone a while. And you'll certainly get to meet them, since I watch over the little ones when their mothers are needed elsewhere or need a break." And Kannon didn't mind in the least, since she adored having little ones around her. And having her own...well, Kannon hadn't been happier.
Others to play with...that sounded incredibly wonderful! ANd they would all be GIRLS. Which meant she didn't have to deal with icky boys! The darker girl yelped as she nearly tripped. She turned her dark glare to Akemi, then grinned and pounced her sister. "Got ya!"

Akemi Squeeked as she was pounced, and emidiately went after her sister's ear - tiny teeth nipping, as her forepaws pushed at the darker cub's chest.
"Not for long!"
Caught up in their playing, she didn't hear the faint sounds of Hippolyta's approach.

The sounds of play and voices are what helped the dark lioness find the trio, more than anything else. The laughter was a big reason, too, why she emerged onto the scene with the smile she had on her face, though she stayed almost shyly to the side. Ears perked and red eyes bright, she studied the new mother and her two adorable girl cubs. It... sort of made her wish she had gone through with her own quest for cubs. She was embarrassed to have returned empty maw, so to speak, but seeing the cubs called up a strange ache in her chest.
"Hello!" Hippolyta called as she stepped forward. "Welcome back Kannon!"

The nanny's ears perked up at the familiar voice. Giving Hippolyta a warm smile, she trotted up to the heir. "It is good to be home, Hippolyta! I brought back two little girls." Her brown eyes turned back to the two girls playing. "Sweetlings, come and say hello. This is one of the important ladies in your home."
Yuuko laughed and batted at her sister gleefully. Playing all over mommy had been fun....but it was always more fun to wrestle with Akemi. Usually. When her mother got their attention, Yuuko blinked and trotted up to the black-on-black lioness with her tussle forgotten. "Important?" The little cub made a dramatic pose, paw on her chest as she smiled 'slyly'. "I'm Yuuko~ Eldest of Kannon's daughters!" She missed her mother's sigh at her dramatics.

Hippolyta laughed at the antics of the cubs, looking them over with obvious pleasure. Such lovely girls, and just like her mother always said, 'one more to add to strength'. She firmly believed that, so it was easy then, to welcome these adorable cubs.
"Hello Yuuko!" She said brightly, nodding to her. "My name is Hippolyta. I'm very pleased to meet you." She smiled, her tail gently flicking before she turned back to Kannon. Seeing these cubs... it reminded her of her own failed quest for cubs and tugged at something inside her. Cubs danced in her mind in shades of black, eyes the bright red of her mother's.
"How was your trip outlands, Kannon? You got along okay, and found the right male? I remember how hard that was for me..." She cut herself off there, preferring not to go into her botched attempt at motherhood.

Kannon nodded. "I did well, and I found a good male. He's strong and...strangely kind. I think I shall go back to him if I feel the need for cubs once again."
Hippolyta...such a strong, pretty name! Yuuko nodded, as if in approval. "Names are most important. Yours sounds very strong! Perfect for someone important!"

Hippy smiled down at the cub and ruffled her head, pleased that this young one would like her so easily. Hopefully, when she was queen, everyone would fine it this easy to like her. A happy pride was a harmonious one.
"It seems to be a good plan, to have one male to go to. Then you spend less time searching and can return sooner... and you can be sure that if your cubs are sucessful once, they'll be sucessful again." The thought was a new one for her, but it made good sense when she thought about it. She couldn't be sure she'd find the same stability when she was brave enough to go again... her mother never bred with the same male twice, after all, but she could hope that she would. Mother might hate males, but as far as hippy was concerned... they weren't all that bad. As far as she could tell.
