Name: Aderyn
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: N/A
Rank: Holder
Physical Description: Slender and willowy, Aderyn is considered tall for a girl in her cothold. She has long russet hair which is usually kept out of her face in braids, and skin the colour of burnt sienna. Her face is wide and flat, her nose is broad and her lips are full. Her eyes are large and deep chestnut in colour. Her clothing usually consists of practical items in wool and leather, although she detests shoes and will usually go without if at all possible.
Personality: Aderyn is a quiet girl, who usually goes about her day in the pleasant industry of her family farm. Raised in an exceedingly large extended family, Aderyn has always treated her cousins like siblings, and often is hard put to remember just who is not directly related to her by blood. In such an environment, Aderyn has learned to go with the flow, and yet has also learned a quiet authority with which she takes charge of the younger children, who often follow her about like obedient, although cacophonous, ducklings. Aderyn is timid, and being raised in a small Hold, has never had an opportunity to voice her own opinions, and more often than not she is more than content to keep the peace by saying little to nothing. She is also very sensitive emotionally, although she buries any hurts deep within her person, and prides herself on having never cried in front of another person. Nevertheless, she is not a weak person, and there is a vein of stubbornness which thrums through her subdued nature.
History: Aderyn was raised in a small Cothold beholden to Ista Hold which is largely a farming community specializing in orchard fruits. Surrounded by extended family from birth, Aderyn has spent her 17 turns pursuing young siblings and cousins, and helping her family during harvest. Aderyn estimates that she was born "roughly in the middle" of all the children of her family, and therefore was given very little by way of education. She, like all the women in her family, is adept at housekeeping, child-rearing, weaving and the cultivation of herbs and fruits, but has little in the way of knowledge of the world outside of her Cothold. When news came that she had been Searched, it was a great surprise and honor to her family, despite the fact that no one in the sprawling clan could recall just who's daughter she was. Nevertheless, Aderyn has recently found herself the center of attention, and as one used to doing her small part unnoticed, she is unsure if she likes it.
Pets: N/A
Other/Talents: Aderyn is very good with children, plants, and anything else which is not in a position of authority. She is exacting and precise, and her weaving skills are exemplary for one with little training.

Sorry, I had her critiqued and I felt I should clarify her personality, as much of it seems contradictory!

Aderyn's Personality:

Aderyn is a quiet and industrious girl, who was raised in an exceedingly large farming family. Integrated into the extensive and extended family since birth, she has grown up to find herself most comfortably in the role of a small part of a larger community; an industrious cog in the greater machine. Aderyn possesses a quiet authority with animals and children younger than herself, but cows before more powerful figures, even those of older siblings and cousins. She lacks confidence in her own strength, and therefore finds it easier to acquiesce to others rather than to strike out on her own. Although she feels very deeply, she is reluctant to show any emotions which may betray her inner fragility, and thus masks it behind a friendly, obedient demeanor. She is naive of the outside world, and reluctant to stray outside of her Cothold. However, Aderyn is akin to a young sapling, whose roots run deep, even though she has not yet found her own inner strength. There are veins of stubbornness within her, although they may be buried very, very profoundly. It is therefore most likely to find Aderyn as an integrated part of a group instead of its leader, unless circumstances forced her to take control of a situation.

Aderyn's History/ Personality Insight:
Raised more by a collective of older cousins and siblings, Aderyn fears adults because they forever seemed out of reach, only speaking to her when she made a mistake, or correcting some other defect about her person. Those in authority cause her a great deal of anxiety because of her childhood fears associated with being punished; during her formative years, that was all she knew of adults. It is only with children she feels most comfortable, both because they expect her to be an authority figure, and because they are most unlikely to criticize and belittle her. Even children who act out cause less distress because Aderyn's exposure to youngsters has allowed her to become adept at curbing bad behavior.
The expectations for farmers' daughters in the Cuthold is that they will care for every detail of the home and farm alike when the menfolk are otherwise occupied. It is expected that the women will be as strong, if not stronger than their husbands and sons, and the delicate women of the higher classes are openly despised for their fragility. Aderyn's inability- or rather her reluctance- to show any emotions which are perceived as 'weak' or 'rebellious' stems from this perception. She has been groomed to know her place within the collective, and knows better than to aspire to anything else. As a young girl, she witnessed a man marked on the forehead as an outcast, and begging for sanctuary from the Thread be chased away with hurled stones from the Cuthold. The Holdless- exiled for rebellion and failure to conform, have been her bogeymen since infancy.
She is most comfortable as a part of a group, but there are whispers in the back of her mind which cry out against her simple acceptance of her servile life and hope and want for more. Freed from the perceptions of her small village, it is likely that Aderyn would be able to excel both as a part of the collective, and on her own, once she has become accustomed to her independence, and established her own personality and esteem.
