Physical Description:
-flexible and strong
- 6'1" height
He has muscles that are not like that of a brute but more like a swimmers.(think modern martial artists) He has wide shoulders and of average built. his hair is a deep black that has bright blonde highlights from being outside so much, he keeps two long 'bangs' giving him a "surfer dude" look. he is very Tan but if he wasnt outside all the time he would probably be very fair in skin tone.
He has a few scars to prove the hardships of the sea. He has a scar from a fishing line that had snapped during a storm while on his father's boat that gave him a scar from his right shoulder to his left hip. Along with some minor scaring on his hands and wrists from a slipped gutting knife or sharp hook.
Personality:
Ryuken is outgoing but rather a pessimist/ realist at times. He is very much a sailor despite his mothers attempt at making him more "civilized"(her words). He is rather quite and would rather listen than talk. Though when around people he knows and or when he is drunk he is rather open and personable (XD) He has a strange sense of humor, often times it being crude and morbid.
He is rather nice once you get to know him but to strangers he is stand offish, pessimistic and quiet way too quiet for most people. If he is indoors for too long he gets cabin fever sometimes as he is usually outdoors not used to being inside all the time and gets kind of aggressive and talkative, well more so than usual.
He is not afraid of thread as he has to deal with is constantly/ will have to deal with it constantly with his job and where he lives. In fact he welcomes thread as usually the fish hauls are better after thread. His only real fear is Death and being lost at sea, but even that he kind of takes with stride.
History:
His parents are sailors/holders in the southern continent, both of his parents have relatives in Ista(Father) and Fort(Mother) though. Keiryann's main duty to his family is to accompany his father fishing and also running and doing things for Southern Hold. He is rather athletic and strong, due to all the hard work he does sailing and fishing. though surprisingly when storms or being sick keep him land and hold bound he tends to sketch animals, people anything in a leather sketch pad, its his most prized possession. The small hold they have is close to/ part of Southern Hold. His typical day is to wake up hours before sunrise, get ready for the day, eat breakfast and pack a ration pack and head out to the boat(s). He then spends his day either hauling nets in or setting them out. When he was younger, 13-ish, there was an accident of a line snapping on the boat and giving him a rather large gash on his torso, it healed but left a nasty looking scar from his right shoulder to his left hip. His hands like any sailor's is rough from the salt, wear and tear of sailing and being out on the ocean.The small hold is close to the docks and is usually the first small hold threatened during storms. it is through the Main Hold that he gets to Ista.
He was sent to the north with fish and firelizard eggs and some other uniquely southern things for the Hatching. They, his parents wanted him to go to see the north and possibly spend time with any family that might still be living there in the north. All of the supplies he brought where to go to the weyr for the hatching that was happening. He happened to be looked at as a possible candidate when the dragonriders came to pick up the supplies despite him being from the south. It was a blue dragon that had picked him to be a candidate. He was startled but was silent during the discussion between the riders about this. He was excited and yet disappointed that he wouldn’t be exploring the north like he had planned. Oh well this might just be a new exploration for him, even if he thinks negatively about to others.
