Sousei Tatsu
I leave creative control and ownership of Before Generations to Rio and Kyle. I can't be bothered to keep up with it, and there are various other personal reasons. I reserve the right to return to BG at any time to resume ownership. Use my characters as you see fit.

Valero's Journal

Prologue

This is the last piece I write while still as the entity known as "Valero"... By the time this parchment is found, the tales of Kyou and his crew will be known far and wide, but what will not be known is the story before Kyou. And the one to worry about, at least for our children's children, was first recorded in that time period. I hope maybe these documents will be of some use for his future elimination, for even I, an omnipresent being, could not destroy him. This is about the first time he threatened the natural way of life... Before Sora, before Kyou. Before the Generations.

How do I join?

Simply send you character requests into the RP Audition thread, and have Sory/me and two other guild members approve it!

Characters & Worlds

Who can I RP as? Are there restrictions?
There are, actually.
  • The first "restriction" is that there is a minimum requirement of 2 original characters- one in the Realm of Light and one in the Realm of Darkness. Each will play a role in the group of children in their respective realms.
  • The character cannot have made a significant appearance in First Generation. Small cameos are fine, but not enough to get the character truly involved in the story. This includes original characters such as Kyou and Meena, and others such as Sephiroth and Kuja. (Very few exceptions will be made about this.)

What kind of worlds will we be able to visit?
Any world is acceptable, really. However, the worlds visited in each realm will differ greatly:
  • In The Realm of Light, worlds visited will be of standard KH affairs. Some Original worlds will be allowed.
  • In the Realm of Darkness, worlds will consist of Square-themed worlds such as Chrono Trigger and Radiata Stories. Original worlds are encouraged. Space travel in the Realm of Darkness will be done so via space craft from Star Ocean and Project Sylpheed, due to Gummi not existing in the realm.

Sentient Weapons

What are Sentient Weapons?
Sentient Weapons are weapons that telepathically link themselves to their owners. They exist in many forms, but no two weapons are the same, or even the same style of weapon, so that means no weapon repeats. Unique/odd weapons are encouraged (for example, my character "Aurinko Valkea" uses an anchor), but it is by no means against the rules for simple weapons like katana or hammers. Sentient Weapons also have names, normally referencing their type and style.

What do Sentient Weapons do for you?
Sentient Weapons provide inner support, similar to how the Summons in Heartfelt Adventure do. In addition to this, Sentient Weapons give what is called Job Memory.

What is "Job Memory"?
Job Memory is the memories of a Sentient Weapon's previous owner. What this does is it gives the owner of the weapon all the skill and experience of the one who had it before him/her. It also gives the owner access to a Main Job and Sub Job related to the weapon's style of combat. Main Jobs are unique to each weapon, and Sub Jobs are only half the strength of the main.

What about summoning? Can I summon the spirit in my weapon?
Yes, actually. Normally, summoning is only associated with the Summoning class, but there is a way for people to summon their weapon's spirit. If your Main/Sub Job is Samurai, it grants you access to the ability to unleash the spirit of your weapon (an ability seen in Final Fantasy Tactics).

Who can use Sentient Weapons?
Your two main characters must have Sentient Weapons. Exceptions can be made for special situations.

Where do I get my weapon?
Valero provides the weapons to people as they arrive, so don't worry about that.

What happens to my weapon when I'm not using it? Do I have to carry it around?
No, weapons are summonable/dismissible, just like Sora's Keyblade.

Why can't I just use a Keyblade? This is Kingdom Hearts, right?
Aye, that it is, but no Keyblades. Why? As stated in other RPs in WLBTD, the plot tends to focus around people with Keyblades, and that's just selfish to hog so much attention. Besides that, Keyblades are really strong- stronger than Sentient Weapons. If a character receives a Keyblade, it will only be with the approval of both Sory and I. If you ask, you will be permanently removed from the list of "maybes".

General Questions

When does Before Generations take place?
Approximately three weeks before the events at the beginning of First Generation.

Did I have to participate in FG to do so in BG?
Certainly not. Most characters in FG won't even appear in BG as cameos. BG also exists as it's own story that leads into FG, not as a sequel. BG was actually originally thoguht up for new Guild members to have an active RP to jump into, and eventually expand themselves to other RPs.

Is there anything from FG I need to know?
Believe it or not, the less you know, the better! (It'll be more surprising in the end!)

Other Rules

  • NO GODMODING!!! Unless something is specifically allowed, there is to be none of that.
  • Please, do not do a major time skip without approval! Sometimes, people will skip ahead to the next day, when everyone else is still doing things on the previous day. This completely ******** up continuation and throws the Roleplay out of what.
    • For example, someone leaves a conversation, goes to take a two hour nap, and then comes back to the SAME conversation that has only been going on for about five minutes since the person left. Does that make ANY sense to you? It doesn't to me.

  • No harassing other people (not characters; people)
  • All characters must be approved in the RP Audition Thread before beginning.
    • By conjunction, any additions or changes to profiles must also be approved.

  • Unless it is another person's character, any heartless/monsters/boss can be controlled by anyone during battle, as long as posts show that you're paying attention to what other people are doing with said creature, too.
  • Character are to remain IN CHARACTER. While homosexuality is allowed, most villains in Final Fantasy are not interested in sex. They're more turned on by ending existence, so let's keep it like that.
  • Please bold any details in your post that would affect the entire RP. This would be things like time passing (several hours later, etc.), weather, earthquakes, very big attacks, etc. Anything that would be... pretty impossible to miss.
  • You must remain active in the RP to be allowed to stay. If you're going to be absent, say so in the Absence thread in the main forum, or PM me saying so. Repeatedly long absences will result in permanent withdrawal from the RP.
  • If you pass a plot idea by me to get my okay, PLEASE PM IT TO EITHER SORY OR MYSELF.
  • Characters are not allowed to jump from realm to realm outside of specific story-important characters.

[Nacht .:. Realm of Light .:. Cross City .:. Town Square?...]

"What a great day... I wish everyday could be like this..." Nacht stretched a bit before looking out over the city from his perch. It was a rather normal-looking city, not unlike the place known as Twilight Town. The boy stood on the edge of the city's clock-tower, a bungee cord tied around his feet, the other end disappearing around the corner. He looked down at his friends from school- some egging him on to jump, some telling him he's gonna get in trouble. He yawned a bit before yelling down to his classmates, "How about it, chums?! Should I jump?! I don't know, guys, this is pretty high up! What happens if the cord snaps?!" He started to walk away from the edge, shaking his head with a short chuckle before quickly turning around around and jumping from the edge of the building, quickly followed by the untied end of his bungee cord. "HEY! WASN'T SOMEONE SUPPOSED TO BE HOLDING THE OTHER END?!"

The boy splashed into the moat that ran alongside the clock-tower, thankful he'd decided to do something like this over water. He came back up to the surface, laughing like a madman as he pulled himself up onto the walkway by the water. "How's that, huh? EAT IT, DEATH!"

[Aurinko .:. Realm of Darkness .:. Aronnes .:. Schoolyard]

Aurinko sat alone in the schoolyard, a cigarette in his mouth and a can of soda in his hand. He was far from the school's prized pupil, but he wasn't interested in fame. He had his close group of friends, and that was good enough for him.

The boy watched the sun set on his home, the city of Aronnes. As far as worlds went, Aronnes quite advanced, though the preferred architecture and general aesthetic was Steampunk. He watched the sun slip behind Aronnes' largest building, City Hall, before finally leaving the town in a state of dusk. He flicked away his cigarette, a quaint smile on his face as he said, "Another day, another sunset... No matter how horrible each day can become, it always ends with one of the most beautiful acts in nature..."

[Leront : Realm of Light : Cross City : Town Square]

Sitting on a table just outside a tiny cafe near the clocktower, a darkly-clothed man sipped a cup of what could only be assumed to be tea or coffee, enjoying the peace and quiet of the small square. Sure, there were the talkings of civilians and and giggling of school children, but it was all simply the natural noise of a city such as this. The man sighed softly as he placed his cup down onto the table lightly, gazing towards the clock tower to see the time- it wouldn't be long until he'd have to depart once again. However, as his eyes focused on the hands of the massive clock, they caught something out of place- a young man, just standing on the ledge and screaming down to his friends below before turning to walk away. The green-haired man rolled his eyes, his tension relieved that the man wouldn't make the idiotic mistake of-

No. There he went.

Leront visibly tensed, somewhat caught off-guard by the foolish action, watching in shock as the teenager plummeted to his death. He jumped up from his position, ready to run over and try to do... something, only to see a large splash of water in the moat below. Right, of course, the moat. Narrowing his eyes at the male from afar, as if blaming the teen for causing the shock, he sighed away his tension and turned back to his cup. Kids would be kids, no matter what generation they lived in.

Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule...

[Evan :.: Realm of Darkness :.: Euphorika :.: Aeros Club -> Back Alley Square]

Euphorika, a city of lights and darkness. Every night in Euphorika is filled with parties and artificial lights. The rich of Euphorika dance and fulfill every one of their fantasies night after night amidst the amazing chaos. No one ever has it hard in Euphorika, except those who do. The city shows the poor little or no mercy, and moving between the classes is nearly impossible.

Evan stood at the entrance of the alley that had a full frontal view of one of the many night clubs. Dirty, second hand clothing, all torn in various places, Evan was one of the city's poor. Watching the club, Evan never lost focus. "These people live in complete ignorance of the rest of the world around them." Evan thought, watching the happy, wealthy people laugh and have fun as they entered and left the club.

A pair of girls wearing some of the most expensive clothes he'd seen walked past him. "...Look at him....Slob....Maybe if he had a decent pair of shoes." He heard them whisper while watching him.

"Maybe I'll find one next time I go dumpster diving through your boyfriend's trash!" Evan yelled out at the two as they gave him a disgusted look. "Bimbos..."

Turning toward the alley, Evan walked into the familiar dark, unlit back alley. After walking a couple of minutes, he came upon the place he called home, Back Alley Square.

Back Alley Square was a place where the less fortunate could gather and live peacefully, outside of the oppression from the rest of the world. The square was founded by a man named Marko, a very honorable man who decided to gather those like him and make a society. Rumors about Marko were as abundant as the night, some people said he was a rich man who decided to live poorly, or that he was really an angel or demon, or something of that nature, but Evan knew better. Marko had just been a normal man with a vision. However, Marko had disappeared within the last coupled of months and no one had been able to find him.

The square housed about twenty to thirty people, all who had been trod on by life. Many of them were children who Marko had brought in, but there was another faction. Evan's friend Baz had joined the family within the last couple of years, and brought with him many of his friends who made up the bulk of the family. Other notable people were David, Rodney and Marta. Rodney used to be an Engineer who had lost everything after being laid off, now he works supplying energy in the square and making sure everyone lives comfortably. Marta on the other hand had been a medicine woman who the Euphorikan government had made shut down because of her so called "dangerous" medicines, but everyone else knew differently. She was a sweet woman who did nothing to harm anyone. David was the main food supplier for the square, he worked in a food warehouse, and struck a deal with the rich owner that he could take a couple of crates back to the square if he worked over time most of the week. Sacrificing himself for the community, he was hardly seen except for the days when he brought home the food.

"Home sweet home." Evan mumbled as he made his way down to the fountain in the middle of the square. Sitting down, he pulled an apple he had stolen from a corner store out of his pocket and took a bite out of it. A group of maybe five children came up to him with large puppy dog eyes.

"E, Evan, did you get us anything?" one of the younger boys asked him.

"No, sorry, those clerks are getting craftier." Evan said, shrugging.

"Oh..Ok..." the same boy mumbled as the group turned around to leave.

"Come on guys, you know I'm just messing with you!" Evan exclaimed happily. Reaching into his pocket, Evan pulled out a couple of bags of generic candy, and tossed it at the kids who went crazy when they saw the sweets. "They're entertained so easily. Almost makes me wish I was a kid again." Evan thought as he ate his apple and smiled.

[Bazran : Realm of Darkness : Euphorika : Dentelion Manor -> Back Alley Square]

"Look, buffoon, just take it and get the hell out of my sight!" shouted an average-sized male, glaring up at the dark-haired, dirt-covered teenager that stood in his kitchen, gathering up all manner of food and drink in a large duffel. The teen was jamming out to something loudly being played on the stereo in the building, drowning out the words of the old man shouting at him. His long brown hair, which was kept in dozens of dreads, each easily reaching past his neck, was swinging back and forth with the beat before the older male grumbled, digging through his pockets for his wallet.

"I suppose that b***h will want her month's extortion money," he grumbled, looking the teen up and down accusingly.

"She's dead," Bazran finally spoke up, without any sign of remorse or sorrow- if anything, a small grin was subtly growing on his face. "Got an attitude with some of the bouncers at the Pyrios Club just about a week ago."

"Well, halle-fricken-lujiah," muttered the man, rolling his eyes (with Bazran apparently nodding in agreement, though it could have just been him bopping to the beat) before giving the teen another accusing glare. "The who in the hell is all this for?!"

"Just some kids I'm helpin out," he replied, his tone immediately becoming gruff- perhaps a warning of hostility yet to come. "What's it to you, old man?"

There was a pause, the only sound being the loud trance music in the background and the soft sounds of the duffel bag's fabric stretching. Looking over his shoulder, despite the fact that he knew good and well there was no one else in the house besides the two of them, Bazran's father pulled out an unmarked Phorik (the strange currency of the planet; plastic cards able to be charged and recharged with credits; each card has designs of a certain famous club)- and softly placed it on the counter, sliding it toward the duffel almost as if he were ashamed of doing this.

"I can see you're not a selfish wench like that mother of yours. But if you tell anyone about this," he whispered, glaring at the teen who was too busy trying to comprehend his father's kindness (or perhaps guilt, or even annoyance), his eyes widening just barely noticeably. "It will be the last thing you do. Understood?"

"You got it, old man!" Bazran replied with a wide, almost challenging grin as he swiped the card and placed it in one of his vest pockets before zipping up the duffel bag and tossing it over his shoulder. "My lips are sealed!"

---

Having rushed out of the manor, using the shadows and alleys to sneak away unnoticed, Bazran eventually found his way back to the Back Alley Square, his home for all intents and purposes. Some of the kids (from Evan's part of the group) were gleefully eating some candy as Evan sat nearby, biting into an apple. Glancing around, he found some of his buddies, Renard and Pholos, playing what appeared to be a game of poker or blackjack (Pholos was wining, by the chip count), and his initial group's couple, Saturos and Menardi, against a wall, snuggling and watching the children with a bittersweet smile (Menardi had lost a daughter a year earlier).

"Whazzap?!" he shouted with a large smirk, strolling into the square with eyes just screaming victory- mission accomplished, he'd told himself as he left behind a figment of his past. "Did I miss anything good?"

[Kale: Realm of Darkness: Euphorika: Kale's Home]

Kale sat at his desk in his office, quickly scribbling down the basic plans of his latest job. It was a pretty easy job. In. Out. But it never hurt to be sure.

He looked over the blueprints he had of the place, scribbling down places to keep an eye out for, vantage points, and possible danger zones.

"Damn..." he mumbled, putting the pen down and rubbing his eyes. He had been workinng on these plans for the past hour, even though he already had done that building before.

Standing and picking up his coat from the back of his chair, he put it on as he walked to the door, grabbing two more things along the way. A simple, featureless mask with the eye's being the only holes, and a small pistol. No point getting caught because someone recognized his face...

The male sighed as he left the office. Assassinations, while his specialty, were started to get more annoying.

['Venat' : Realm of Light : The Underworld : Hades Throne Room]

[Recently...]

"I only come out of a sense of generosity, I assure you, God of the Underworld," came a strange, almost ethereal voice behind the drama mask. In front of Hades' throne knelt a man in a dark-crimson trench coat, his black and messy hair just barely falling over the front of the mask, even though most of it reached down to his lower neck. His arms were stretched out and open as he glanced into the God's eyes through the melodramatic Happy mask. "I merely wish to offer a proposition to you- a deal that would most certainly benefit us both more than either of us would lose."

"Is that your excuse for bargin' in here without an invitation, kid?" Hades retorted, his eyebrows raised in a morbid curiosity and suspicion as he sat in his throne of bone, one hand rubbing his chin and the other tapping away at the arm rest on which it lay. "What do you think you have that could possibly interest me?"

"I hear whispers of your desire for Mount Olympus, or perhaps greater," the enigma began, his 'Happy' mask immediately (and faster than one could possibly catch) changed into a 'Devious' face, one eye slanted downward to signify a lowered eyebrow, and only one part of the smile turned up, making it a crooked smirk. "But tied, you are, to these decaying halls, to this sickly River Styx, bound to watch over the dead by your brother's decree-"

"Watch it, punk," Hades seethed, his hair slowly beginning to glimmer from azure to orange, revealing his rising anger. The face on the mask once more instantly changed, this time to an 'Apologetic' face, its eyes turned up with a thin smile, with two small, painted beads of sweat on the side.

"Of course, Your Greatness, I mean no insult- rather, I was merely speaking in prelude!" he explained, waving his hands about as if to dash away the accusing glare. And then, once more, the mask changed to a 'Devious' face. "You see, I have... a source of power. Power I'm more than willing to share with someone as ambitious and... deserving as yourself-"

"Pah, what could a schmuck mortal like you have to offer me?" Hades said, rolling his eyes and looking away, leaning his chin on his elbow as he began to wave away the enigma, causing his loyal minions Pain and Panic to rush towards the stranger, ready to grab him and drag him out- only to be startled by the appearance of two large, almost humanoid black creatures with beady golden eyes, rising from the shadows on the ground as if molded by the Darkness itself. They yelped and recoiled, gripping each other out of fear.

"I can offer you these," he proclaimed, his Devious face somehow looking even moreso than before as he motioned toward the Neoshadows. "These and so, so many more. And endless army of creatures similar to, and some more powerful than, these little shadows. They are called Heartless, and they are known to follow the commands of those with a strong will."

"Oh?" came Hades simple reply, his position never changing but his eyebrows raising in curiosity- his attention had been caught. "And what good could these little buggers possibly do for me?"

"Like I said before- an endless army. These creatures are untraceable, and unlike your little pets here, they are not hindered by any boundaries," he explained, pointing to one and causing it to dance only barely. "With these creatures, you could take your reign beyond simply Greece- you could go to other worlds."

The God of the Underworld slowly turned towards the stranger, his orange flames slowly becoming azure once more as he toyed with the idea. It seemed to go on for a few minutes- it was quite a thing to try and comprehend.

"Tell me more about these little critters, and then we'll discuss your... proposition."

---

"Alright, alright," Hades finally said after the enigma went into detail on the Heartless- their creation, their hunger, their powers, their threats. "So, lemme get this straight- you're gonna give me all that, for...?"

"What I want is a very, very small price in comparison, you'll find," the stranger spoke, holding his hands out once again to the two Heartless on display. "I just want access to the River Styx. Nothing fancy, no power, no fame, no fortune. I just want access to the dead for my own purposes. As swiftly as they come, I don't think the loss of a few souls here and there would do any significant damage. Besides, once I'm done with them they'd simply return to the Styx once more, so it would only be a temporary loss..."

"Gee, kid, I dunno," Hades said, immediately looking skeptical as he rubbed his chin again in thought. However, he had truly already decided; he simply didn't want the kid to realize how jipped he was getting on the deal. "Eh, I suppose it's alright. So, I get the Heartless, you get the zombies. Deal?"

The God of the Underworld stuck his hand out, a small smirk curling his lips wickedly as he awaited the handshake. The mortal opposite him strolled forward and, without so much as a moment of hesitation, took the hand, shaking it. Immediately, there was a glowing azure aura around the gripped hands, truly settling the deal as the power transference was made.

"Deal."

"And just who have I had the pleasure of doing business with?"

"You can call me Venat, Your Highness," spoke the masked man before a corridor of Darkness appeared and swallowed him, his voice still echoing into the room. "And I assure you, the pleasure is all mine."

[Evan :.: Realm of Darkness :.: Euphorika :.: Back Alley Square]

"Hey Baz. You didn't miss much, just gave the kids some candy." Evan said as Bazran made his presence known. Noticing the large duffel bag in Baz's hands, Evan asked "Food from your dad? Sweet, we've been running a little low lately. Take it to the pantry like always."

[Einarr :.: Realm of Light :.: Cross City :.: Leera's Garage]

"By the gods this accursed metal beast is heavy!" Einarr yelled. The proud viking from Evergard today found himself attempting to push a car up a hill after it ran out of gas.
"Stay frisky Ein!" Leera, a redheaded, green eyed woman who had taken in Einarr after he explained his situation to her, yelled from the driver's seat of the car. "We're almost at the top of the hill!"
"You owe me a couple pints of mead when this is over!" Einarr yelled back as he pushed with all his strength.
Finally the car made it up the hill and Einarr pushed it into the garage which sat right at the top. "My arms kill me." Einarr complained as he sat down on the ground to rest. "Why did you not fill the car before we returned?"
"It slipped my mind. Come on big guy, lets get you to the couch." Leera said, helping Einarr to his feet and leading him into the house.

[Bazran : Realm of Darkness : Euphorika : Back Alley Square]

With nothing more than a thumbs up and a grin, Bazran strolled towards one of the small flats that surrounded the 'square'. They were each rather run- down, one-room studio apartments, abandoned by the richer people for condominiums dozens of stories into the sky. However, for the less fortunate, they were safe havens from the weather and places of refuge in times of need; places to store ones valuables as well as to stay out of the way when less friendly people came strolling by. One such storage flat was used by this rag-tag family as a place to store there food and drink, aptly named 'The Pantry'.

Walking past two of the less-familiar street-rats that stood guard (with food being such a valuable commodity amongst the poor, they had to protect their stores), he entered the dilapidated hut and began to sort out the large amount of food, placing them in the right places- cans, drinks, bags, sweets, carbs, pasta, etc. His monthly runs to his father's, while frustrating, were enough to help out with the food... if only for a few days. That's why everyone had to contribute. The family that sticks together is the family that stays alive.

Leaving the empty duffel in the Pantry, Bazran came back out and took a seat beside Evan with a sigh. "Man, I'm bored."

Blunt. To the point. Random. Didn't give a damn, either.

[Marko :.: Realm of Light :.: Underworld :.: River Styx shore]

The pale, green light of the river styx dully glazed over the dark rocks in the caverns of the underworld. The undead that traveled inside of the river screamed their silent screams as they traveled into the abyss, their faces wrought with agony as their last remaining youth was torn away from them. A lone, tall, muscular figure could be seen sitting on a large stone close to the edge. "Look at all of you." Marko said, watching the bodies pass by him. "All of you are pathetic, wastes of what was once your life. Neither heartless, nor nobody, nor geist was made from your remains. You pathetic greed filled people took everything with you, leaving nothing for those who could have used it for their own benefit." Pulling out his sound gun, the Infinite Mach, he fired blank after blank into the water, the sheer force of the sound waves coming out of it sending bodies flying out of the water, and then back into the water where they would be shot again.

After a while of shooting the bodies, Marko slumped forward, put his head into his hands and said "I'm bored. I wish Venat would finish talking to Mr. Combustible over in the throne room."

[Valero .:. Realm of Light .:. Pangai .:. Karasu Isle]

"Valero, to what do I owe the pleasure of this meeting?"

On the foggy plains atop the cliffs that are the beaches of Karasu Isle stood a pair of figures, one clad in nearly all black whilst the other wore a full-body brown robe. The man in the robe was staring out to sea with the younger of the two behind him, a cocky smile on his face as he said, "Well, I was in the neighborhood and thought 'Why not visit the Neimorr God? Maybe we could have a little deity pow-wow.'" The robed man chuckled a bit, noticing the boy already standing next to him without so much as a sound. Valero smiled again, the sea breeze moving through his hair as he said, "You should know why I'm here, Ravon... There's something up to no good and is trying to involve both realms in the affair..."

Ravon turned to Valero, an unsure look in his eyes as he asked, "Are you certain? Someone else has discovered a path from one realm to another?"

The boy nodded with a bored expression, almost as though he was disappointed Ravon did not know. "Not only that, but he has gained the influence of several powerful warriors in both realms, not to mention securing his own access to the River Styx in the Underworld. I would have stopped him already, but... you know... I try to stay out of these things and let everyone get things done on their own."

Ravon turned back to watching the ocean, a large black eagle occasionally coming into view before disappearing back into the fog. "Then why have you come to me? If you seek my intervention in such affairs, you have come to the wrong place. I only wish to let mortals lead their own lives."

Valero was gone yet again, perched at the edge of the cliff this time as he said, "I know, I know. But it's not only this man... I fear my coming into being has paved the way for other like myself... More 'hearts with souls' have been appearing and gathering together, seemingly searching for bodies to house their hearts and spirits... Every body they wrench from their victims only vanishes into nothing, but the Hearts and Souls have one of several options: Become a Heartless and leave the soul to vanish is the most common result... Thought sometimes, the Heart and Soul both take a shape of their own. The result is a Heartless..." Valero looked over his shoulder at Ravon before adding, "And a Geist."

The boy's position on the cliff altered, now revealing him to be further away from the unamused Ravon. the boy continued, "And sometimes, though rare, the Heart and Soul combine to form another like it's attacker... Like me... Another 'Nameless'. One of the reasons I come to you now, Ravon, is a man is ravaging the realm of Light using these Nameless monsters... A man from Pangai."

Ravon sighed deeply before uttering the name, "... Ryuma."

"Oh?"
, the boy said in response, "So you did know? So... What? You gonna wait for me to fix a problem stemming from your world?"

Ravon turned and made his way to the center of the Isle, ignoring the boy only to find Valero already walking at his side. "The reason I'm here isn't to ask for your direct help, Ravon. I need some... 'artifacts'. Items unique to Pangai that you hold in your possession."

The Neimorr God stopped and looked at Valero before asking, "Then why not simply take them? That never stopped you in the past. Leave me be, child, and stop pretending to be a god. You're a trickster at best."

As Ravon continued walking away, Valero smiled and said, "You know my omnipresence can't grant me access to the Tomb of Blayds."

The Neimorr God stopped and asked, "I thought you had already taken what you needed from there?..."

The boy shook his head and replied, "Pangai's state of existing in both the Light and Dark Realms gave a raider the opportunity to steal from you one of the Blayds. Regrettably, he has taken one of the finer weapons, too, so I would suggest switching the title of Demon Blayd Keepers to the Voids from the Wolf Clan... Though they are not to be trusted, their abilities are more than enough to keep future raiders away. As for the Raider himself, I attempted to retrieve the Blayd from him, but he was too strong. My omnipresence doesn't make me invincible, you know."

Ravon placed a hand on his chin as he said, "Well, that would only account for one Blayd..."

Valero laughed a bit and said, "Is it really so strange that a Pangaian of any race other than Neimorr could make it up here? Ryuma has taken possession of the other missing Blayd. The monster of a man has found a way to bend the corridors of darkness to his will, and slipped past your watchful eye. I would go after him, but his set of skills make him a ferocious adversary, even without a Blayd and his Aura Infection."

Ravon sighed and became silent for a moment, thinking to himself before saying, "Then so be it, Valero. I grant you access to the Tomb of Blayds. Just remember to return the weapons to me when all of this is..." The god turned to Valero, only to find the boy gone from his sight. "... Over."

[Venat : Realm of Light : Underworld : River Styx Shore]

"Your wish is my command, I suppose," came Venat's voice as he exited a Corridor of Darkness nearby, watching as his newly-awakened apprentice of sorts took out his frustration on the 'innocent' souls of the deceased. The mask he wore (and he wore it at all times, it seemed), had the face of Contentment, though it was well known between the two that neither could feel anything at all. Such was the Nobody's lot in 'life', if they disillusioned themselves enough to call it so. "I've finished my errands, we may leave this pesky Realm. I'm sure the Light makes it uncomfortable for you even here in the depths of the Underworld..."

Without so much as a warning, while he spoke, Venat held out an empty palm towards the River Styx, as if waiting for something to take his hand. Instead, one of the many drifting souls was pulled forth from the river, slowly hovering over into a spot above his hand. The dead being began to condense ever so slowly, shrinking into a single point before finally... it became a foggy, translucent diamond gem, which hovered into one of Venat's many pockets needlessly.

[Abel: Realm of Light: Cross City: Streets]

"...Sorry."

That was the fifth person he had bumped into. Rather, the fifth person who had bumped into him. Abel was small and quiet. Not a good combination in a crowd of people...or even a few people, really.

He shook his head, a motion he used to do the smooth out his ruffled feathers in his original form, before continuing his walk. It was a nice place, this Cross City. But Abel missed the forest...and missed his lute, but that had broken on his journey.

Oh well. Maybe he could find another one.

[Kale: Realm of Darkness: Euphorika: Streets]

Kale slipped through the crowd, mask in place. Not like it mattered whether he had a mask on or not in public, especially considering there were a few people who did it anyways for parties.

He moved through the crowd silently, ignoring the cheers of already drunk people and groans of those already in the hangover stage. He was used to doing this, used to the party world and how...chaotic it could be.

Which was good for his job.

The assassin did a quick sidestep, and moved into an alley. If he remembered right, there was some kind of back alley system that would eventually put him right by where he was supposed to go. Not that he normally travelled the back alleys. But at least this way, he couldn't get stopped at the front door, he could sneak in the back way, like his employer said he could.

[Nacht .:. Realm of Light .:. Cross City .:. Town Square]

Nacht pulled himself out of the moat, laughing at his own misfortune as his crowd slowly began to walk away and leave him. The boy sighed and made his way for the cafe, only to spot Leront sitting outside of it. "Well," Nacht said, pulling up a chair to sit at the table with the dark-clothed man, "Would you take a look at this guy! Y'know, Ler', if I don''t know any better I would have thought you were just gonna let me go splat on the cobblestone. You wouldn't let that happen, would ya?"

Nacht leaned over the table and grabbed Leront's cup, downing the contents and a single drink before adding, "And I thought you were gonna be gone by now? Didn't you say something about leaving Cross City?"

[Aurinko .:. Realm of Darkness .:. Aronnes .:. Alleys]

The sun had long ago set on Aronnes, but Aurinko had other business to attend to. After all, sleep can wait. The large boy turned the corner just in time to see a couple of thugs about to rip some kid a new one. Little guy probably didn't do anything, except maybe having some money the thugs wanted. Without thinking, Aronnes lurched forward, running at the two men and leaping into the air to deliver a solid kick to the collarbone of one. The thug went down like a ton of bricks, while the other one was too startled to immediately retaliate. Aurinko rushed forward again, slamming his knee into the second mugger's stomach before following up with an elbow to the back of the head.

Aurinko dropped the thug to the ground and smiled at the scared boy before saying, "Go ahead and run along now. I'll take these two to the hospital and hand them over to the proper authorities." The young child smiled and ran off as Aurinko loaded up the two thugs on his shoulders. Thank god I'm so huge... otherwise taking on these guys might have been much more difficult...

[Marko :.: Realm of Light :.: Underworld :.: River Styx]

"Light? Making me uncomfortable? Never." Marko said, ignoring the dark, almost ethereal aura of dark purple that surrounded him "Where I come from, the light is always on when the dark comes."
Getting up, Marko's sound gun flashed dark blue for a second before disappearing.
Watching his partner (as Marko called him, despite obviously being his master/mentor) he asked "So where are we going now?"

[Evan :.: Realm of Darkness :.: Euphorika :.: Back Alley Square]

"I know what you mean man." Evan said, taking another bite out of his apple and receiving a satisfying crunch. "Wanna sneak into Aero again? I think it's been long enough that the bouncers won't recognize us."
Before Baz could answer, one of the younger girls came up to Evan and said "Evan! I fell and thcraped my knee!"
"Hey! It's ok, come on, lets go to Marta's place and get you a bandaid. Be right back Baz."
Leading the girl the largest apartment, the one with the large "Healings" sign over it, and opened the door. "Hey Marta, Steph here hurt her knee, wanna help her out?"
The studio was painted in a very earthy green and brown design with a dirt floor instead of conventional hardwood. The walls were littered with shelves and each one of them was full with herbs, jars full of strange things, and other knick knacks that Marta used for her healing techniques. Coming from a large pot in the corner was a very sweet scent that was reminiscent of strawberries, and a green vapor that filled the room, giving it a greenish tint and the sweet smell. "Oh chil'" a voice came from around the corner "Did ye hert yerself ageen Steph?"
From around the corner, came Marta, a rather thin woman with a dark complexion and braided hair that reached almost her ankles. Her dress was made up of many stitched together pieces of dresses that had been ripped and discarded by drunk rich girls who got tired of them. It was very loose fitting and left much to the imagination.
"Yeth Marta..." Stephanie said, her lisp coming through one of her missing front teeth. "I fell when we were playing."
"Ah, I sees, I sees." Marta said, walking to them and leaning over to check the wound. "You jast leave her wit' me Evan, I'll take care of 'er."
"Alright, you got it Marta." Evan said happily. "Hey Steph, don't hurt yourself until when I come back, and I'll get you some of that special candy you like."
"Oh, Ok Evan!" Stephanie said with delight streaming from her face.
Evan smiled before nodding at Marta and walking out of the studio. "So yeah, the Aero." Evan said once Baz got in earshot. "Should we go?"

[Einarr :.: Realm of Light :.: Cross City :.: Leera's House]

"Here we go big guy." Leera said, leading Einarr to the couch in the middle of her living room. "Just lay down, I'll make you something to eat."
"You have my thanks." Einarr said, laying down on the soft, fake fur couch.
As Leera went off into the kitchen, Einarr looked around the room before his eyes focused on his viking battle attire hung up by Leera in the corner of the room. "Evergard...." Einarr thought, as his mind went back to his homeworld.

[A year ago....]

The landscape was frigid, and snow was falling lightly on the world of Evergard. The large river Huadin flowed into the whiteness of the world without restriction, ignoring what little ice tried to form. A large group of people stood at the edge of the river, and a boat tied to the dock floated in the water, begging to be set free.
Einarr stood at the edge of the dock that led to the boat, watching as his oldest brother Raithar, followed by his two other older brothers Eikan and Sovarr followed him. "The honor of sending you on your journey should have fallen on the shoulders of the father, but his death in the fields of Terathna leaves the honor to me. You have grown well Einarr, and you make your brothers and your mother proud."
Einarr bowed his head, a little embarrassed of what his brother was telling him.
"Raise your head brother! A warrior such as yourself does not ever let himself be dumbstruck by mere talking."
Putting his hand on Einarr's shoulder and grasping it tightly, Raithar said "Our people do not falter, and should your journey lead to your death, then you will have died as a warrior, either trying to survive, or fighting off some beast."
Sovarr, the second oldest stepped forward and raising a large broadsword said "My brother! This is a sword I have made for you with my bare hands, I hope it serves you well and cuts down your foes!"
After him, Eikan, the third oldest stepped forward, and raising a pendant forward bellowed "Einarr, my brother! This pendant I have crafted from the green diamond that lines the mountains around the village! May it remind you of us, even in the most desperate of moments!"
Taking the two gifts, Einarr bowed his head to his brothers before facing Raithar once more. ""My brother, I shall return, and when I do, I shall honor our family."
"Then go Einarr! Take your boat and sail to the edges of the world!"
Einarr nodded and stepped into the boat.
Walking over to the rope that kept the boat docked, Sovarr pulled his sword from it's sheath and with a wide downward swing, cut it, letting the boat flow freely down the river.
As the boat left the dock, Einarr heard the large crowd of people at the dock singing the song of his father's fathers, a song he would learn when he came back to the village.

As the village finally disappeared from view, Einarr laid down in the boat to sleep. When he fell asleep, he dreamt of other worlds, and the space between them, and the boat sailing seamlessly through the folds of time and space.

When Einarr woke, the boat had docked outside of a magnificent city, with architecture he had never seen before. The Cross City...

[Einarr :.: Realm of Light :.: Cross City :.: Leera's house]

"Home..." Einarr thought as he stared at the armor.
