I'm at one of Victoria's biggest Jazz festivals that lasts 4 days over a long weekend biggrin It is up in a country town called Wangaratta and the whole town shuts down for Jazz. They play in bars, in the street, in restaurants... everywhere... its so cool biggrin
Most of the people are not big names, but they are all really good and you can tell they are playing because they love to. Its sooooooooo good mrgreen
Thus far, I have got myself 5 CDs...

Noone there are thaaat big names, but that doesnt mean they arent good. Its a good place for bands and such to make a name for themselves. One of my favourites that I saw up there were called 'The sweet lowdowns' (named after a movie named after a song). It was laidback jazz perfect for a summer day spent relaxing on the grass... twas awesome mrgreen (i'm home now crying crying crying crying crying crying )

Sounds great! There's a big one at Noosa near where I live (Sunshine Coast), and all of the restaurants and bars and stuff have bands setting up, it's brilliant! I got to miss out on a day of school for that. Only problem was, only one band was playing when I was there sweatdrop

Mostly old fogies, they were all right, but it was about 40 degrees and they were nearly passing out. (40 celcius that is). They played some good stuff, but then they moved on pretty quickly. There was supposed to be a parade too, but I was basking in the sun on the beach. Damnit!
