AIM LOG: T ` P o i & _ p a o cx

Tarik had, once again, taken to disguising himself as a larger-than-normal adolescent lion, white pelt with peculiar tattoos scattered all over his body. Pale blue eyes stared boredly at the ground as he made his way across the savannah. He wasn't particularly tired or anything, in fact he almost felt up to flying. Somehow, though, he felt like walking. "Boring though.." he muttered, as he turned the idea of flying over and over again in his mind. Maybe he could visit the tops of the nearby mountains, or head over to the northern oceans and take a nap. As he mulled through his thoughts he hadn't really been paying attention to his surroundings. someone could've easily snuck up on his if they wanted to..

Irit had been on the prowl while her brother and the stupid black peacock slept. Why she was on the prowl was simple...She felt she'd been out of practice. The pale lioness felt she needed to prank someone. Preferably someone who needed to be knocked down a peg or two. Seeing a white form in the distance that WASN'T her long-legged brother, she grinned. Perfect. Trotting forward quietly, she got rather close to the lion...and uttered a single word. "Boo."

He hadn't been too deep into his own thoughts, so when he heard the word 'boo' suddenly he couldn't help but jump back a bit. He turned almost immediately, eyes wide but body almost frozen. Despite being a diety he was remarkably inexperienced when it came to fighting. It also didn't help that this was the first time someone had actually managed to sneak up on him. When he managed to gather himself enough to speak, it was pretty clear by the look on his face that he was...pretty pissed. "Did you need something?"

Irit couldn't wipe the grin off her face, and she couldn't help but chuckle. "Hmm...maybe. Maybe not. You looked like you needed a wake-up call though." She moved her head back and forth a bit, looking to pop a vertebrae back into the exact right spot. "Zoning out in the rogue lands is dangerous, ya know. Especially when yer alone. There's bigger lions than you out there. And some of 'em are downright MEAN." His angry face didn't phase her any. She'd seen the sort often enough back home.

"I'm not worried about these big lions," he said, still sounding beyond irritated. Tarik moved away from the lioness, turning to face the lioness before taking a seat again. "Okay, so did you need something or not?" he asked again. Not that he was in a rush or anything, but from the moment she snuck up and surprised him the god had finally decided to make the tiring trip to the summit of a nearby mountain for a peaceful nap. He might've thanked her for helping with the decision, if only he wasn't so...upset.

Irit chuckled. She liked this one. HIs reactions were fun. "Actually, you've given me what I wanted." She sat herself, tail flicking lazily behind her. "A new reaction, a new emotion and expression to add to the ones I've seen." She liked making lessons out of her pranks...but she did love seeing how others reacted. "I'm Irit, and whose expression do I owe the pleasure of adding to my collection?"

"Tarik," he answered, raising a brow. Much of his irritation once she'd responded the way she did. He was getting tired of doing favors for these mortals. It was curious, what she said before she introduced herself. New expression? "So you've never seen someone get irritated before?" the god asked, raising a brow.

Irit shook her head. "I have. But...each creature expresses an emotion differently. So really...every creature experiences different emotions from every other creature." She kept her smile. "I rather like seeing the emotions of the creatures I meet...though some I would rather just avoid." She snorted. "Some creatures ooze ick even when they're joyful."

Tarik almost grinned - almost. She was an interesting one, maybe worth spending a few moments with before he went ahead and flew to his napping spot. "Well that makes sense, I guess," he mused, thinking a bit on the subject. He wasn't the type to want to waste time observing the expressions of others, but to each their own. At least it was different.. "Well what sorts of creatures would you rather avoid, then?"

Irit was silent a moment, her face turning solemn. And then she spoke. "The sort who hurt others just because. Not fight...but just HURT. Because they can. The sort who find pleasure in causing others great pain. And the sort who kill just because they can." She'd heard stories, even seen creatures from a distance that just made her shiver and want to run and hide behind Tama or even Narci.

He made a sort of 'oh' shape with his mouth when she answered. Tarik hadn't encountered that sort yet, but he knew of other immortals that loved that sort of thing. No doubt mortals would experience such a thing, whether they be the violent one or the victim. He avoided most other immortals though, so he'd never had to think about it. That, though, was probably because he didn't have to worry about losing his life. At least not permanently, anyway. "I see.." was all he could muster to say. After an awkward silence he gave another sigh. "Well it'd be best to stay away from those types anyway, even if you did want to observe them."

Irit chuckled and nodded, her smile returning. "Rather true. I would avoid them period...at least for the sake of my family. I rather dislike making them sad." Which is why she would return home after Tama was settled with his girl. Despite the grand adventure this was, she rather missed the familiar reactions of her huge family. "You have any family Tarik?"

"Ah, no," the god answered. At little to fast, actually, but despite that he offered a small smile. "I've been alone since I was old enough to walk." Of course, he sounded more proud of that fact than depressed. Tarik prided himself in knowing that he really did grow up all alone, but he knew most would see it as something to frown about. Not him, though. "But that's a whole other story," he quickly added with a chuckle.

Irit raised a brow. "Alone?" She'd never been truly alone. She'd always had her family...always! Her five older siblings and her six littermates. Mom and Dad. Her grandparents and her aunt and uncle..."So...you're used to being alone?" She just couldn't imagine it.

He answered her question with a bit of a shrug and a nod of his head. "I've never really thought about it, actually. I figured it was just how things were so I never questioned it." Now that he thought about it though, he'd never been bothered by the fact that he was alone. In fact, he'd grown to like it at some point. Which probably explained why he was easily irritated when he suddenly found himself with company - immortal or otherwise. It sometimes felt like they were invading this huge bubble that had grown all around him.. "What about you?"

Irit was a bit confused...but if it was something he'd just...grown up with, perhaps he was meant to understand it. And she was fated to not understand, because she'd grown up never alone. "I have lots of family. Mom and Dad, my older siblings, my littermates...even Grandma and Grandpa and my aunt and uncle." She chuckled, embarrassed. "I suppose you being used to being alone kind of...confuses me because of it. Because even when I'm wandering by myself, I know I've got my family to go back to."

"Family's a foreign idea to me because of how I grew up, so I can't say that I know how that feels." And with that the lion stood up and nodded his head slightly at Irit. "Anyway, I think I'm about ready for a nap, so I guess I'll be seeing you." Tarik offered her one last smile before turning around and starting to walk again. Family - it was possible he'd have his own someday. But that was probably a long way's away, so he didn't have to think about it just yet. For now he could stand to be alone.. just for now.

Irit nodded and before he got too far out of sight, she grinned. "Hey! If ya ever want some company, and are around the Pridelands...look me up!" Before he could answer, she took off back towards her brother and Narci. Well then...that was time spent well!
