"It shouldn't be to much further.." Hephaesto said as he glanced back at his brother, their mother had given them directions to their Sires herd lands. "She said we'd have to fly there.." He added, he pushed the image of his teary eyed mother from his mind. They both needed to do this, to meet their father, their missing brother. To fill in links that needed to be connected, to decide for themselves.

It wasn't as if she'd been a bad mother, oh no. She'd been wonderful, tender and caring, both mother and father to them, even though Ty stayed with the two legger more often than naught. As a foal, he hadn't understood why, but now as an adult he did, she had ensured her foals would survive the winter, a lone mare with two foals didn't have the greatest of chances, but if she left one with a two legger, well then her foals had a better chance of seeing spring.

Stopping, Hephaesto turned towards his brother. "Are you ready to do this? Once we start, we can't change our minds and turn back..Once we take flight..Were doing this." His tones were firm as he watched his brother, things were churning in that brain of his brothers and he wasn't sure how he felt about it.

He shook out his mane, long slightly curled locks he'd gotten from his mother. Whilst Ty was an alicorn like her, he was a wind, like his father he pondered, he wondered what else they had in common..What they shared with their brother..He was definitely curious to meet his sire, and brother..definitely curious indeed.

"Yea man. I'm ready."

He was, honest. Even after mother's tears, he was ready. Oh, who the heck was HE kidding? Before now, he could have gone his whole life with out meeting his father and brother. The older he got, the more curious he became about them. What were they like? How much did they look alike? Could you tell they were related?

Heph and He had these markings...that weren't from mother or any from her side. Those must be from father.

"If your ready for this, than lets do it."

Mother was amazing, picking a human that could care for him and raise him right. He grew up in a wonderful herd, with males who taught him how to fly, tuaght him everything he needed to know to survive.

Ty spread his wings, nodding. "Alright dude. Lets do this."

The directions that the two brothers had been given were accurate. As they flew closer to their destination sharp cliffs and thick, tangled woods choking even the sharp inclines became visible. If there was a way up into the mountains from the ground, it would take someone who knew the lands or was an expert woodsman. As they flew closer, the inclines got sharper, and then, finally, bare rocks met them before it dropped off sharply into a high alpine valley. The snows of winter had all melted now and the grass was a brilliant green. Runoff springs from the mountain peaks drained into the valley, providing a clear drinking pool in its middle. It was beautiful and bounteous, and seemed to be removed from all but the most resolute predators. It was like a little sanctuary, an oasis in the clouds.

However, not long after the boys had crossed the threshold of the peaks, another figure became visible. It was obvious even from a distance that it was another soquili. His fur was dark, but banded with brilliant reds. The tips of his big wings were a bright orangey-yellow, and jutting from his forehead was the horn of an alicorn.

It veered in their direction, wings beating confidently and carrying him with drive and purpose. His posture was defensive, and as he got closer, his ears were pinned back. But before he could call out a challenging whinny, he seemed to falter in his pace in surprise, eyes widening at the arrival of the other two stallions. These were not just any intruders or travelers. There was something undenyably familiar about them. One had fur as dark as his own, his mane a splash of purple. The other, a grey alicorn had accents of vibrant blues and reds. But both of them bore some undenyably familar markings along their bodies - runes, much like the ones that many others in his herd bore - particularly his father.

When the breeze wafted their scents to him, it seemed to cement it. They were family. But family he had never seen before. He felt a stir of emotions. He knew that he had siblings out there - his father had chosen his basket to care for, to raise among his herd of the strong. He had been selected. Were they here to challenge that? Or did they simply come to find him and their father? For once in his life, Firestorm felt speachless. But it did not last long. "You there!" He called out to them. "What brings you to the herd of the Thunderbird?"

Hephaesto knew instantly, as soon as he saw the other sky borne stallion in the sky. That was him, it had to be their brother, because he was surely not old enough to be their sire. And the stocking markings on his front legs, were a gift from their mother as was the white on his hind leg.

"Our Sire is Leader of the Firebird..We've come to seek him and our brother out.." Hephaesto responded, strong even tones as his mighty wings flapped keeping him in a hoovered state in the air. His bold crimson gaze continued to see the similarities between the three brothers, you couldn't dismiss them, there was no doubt that they shared the same blood through their veins, that pulsed through their hearts, but it seemed, that they were so different already.

Hephaesto shook his head a bit, long mane dancing on the breeze, he was surrounded by alicorns. How had that happened he thought with a faint snort, he glanced back at Ty, he had apparently taken the more, leadership role of the two, which amused him slightly. But, someone had to do it and well, with Ty in his current state, it would be more logical for him to take on such a role.

"Do you know where he is?" Hephaesto asked, a brow slightly arched as he continued to watch the other stallion, he wondered how long they'd hover in the sky like this, though his wings loved the action.

That was him. That was their brother. He didn't know what to feel at that moment. His emotions were in turmoil, but he'd be damned if he showed it. Heph moved immediately to speak with him, leaving Ty to keep just behind him, blue eyes locked on the dark male before him.

So his brother was an Alicorn as well. Their similarities, especially the one between Heph and Firestorms coats, were obvious. What was their father going to think seeing them for the first time? Who the hell knew? What Ty knew for sure was he was defiantly on edge.

Keeping his mouth shut and letting Heph do the talking was his plan for now. Not speaking unless spoken to. Which, for him, was usually rather difficult to do.

Ty hoovered right behind Heph, wings loving the use. He hadn't been flying for a distance like this in a long while, his wings needed to be used again Hopefully Firestorm wasn't going to contest the fact they were here. All he wanted was to meet their sire, and him for that matter.

If Firestorm had had any doubt as to the identity of these two stallions, it was now eradicated. "Brothers." Firestorm said in his most booming voice (something he had strived to emulate from his father), but this time there was a smile. "It seems as if you have found one that you seek already. I am Firestorm!"

His powerful wings continued to beat in time, maintaining his elevation. Another trial Balrog had insisted that Firestorm perfect. It took much more strength, much more control to stay in one place than to move forward and glide alogn the updrafts.

He sized up the pair of them. They did not seem to bear an aggressive stance, although they were fine stallions like himself. But Firestorm's ego forbid him to see them as a true threat, even if that was their intent. Secretly, Firestorm almost wished that they were. Something he could do to test and prove his own strength. To prove that not only were he the golden child of the herd, but of his siblings as well. But he pushed aside the fantasy and focused on the moment.

"So, I do indeed know the location of our sire. For what do you seek him? To see our progenitor and know your father? Or some other purpose?"

((Adding a note here as of Oct 7, 09: since it's been quite a while since this RP had any activity, I'm going to go ahead and consider it inactive. No hard feelings whatsoever, I'm just trimming down my rather intimidating list of active RPs I check routinely. If you would like to pick it up again and continue it, just drop me a PM smile )).
