A lot of items have rose up a lot and im not sure where to begin. I have been selling inks, furniture, cheap clothes and I don't invest as much as I'd like to.

What is your guess that the next item will inflate or any suggestions on what to invest in? There was another thread about this but it scared me because it was kind of old ^_^;

The best items to invest in are EIs, classic MC's and/or items with a high Pulse rate.

You watch prices on either types until you are familiar with them. MP provides VERY useful monthly and yearly graphs.

Then stalk the items in the MP until you find a very low "Buy Now" price. Buy it up and either resell it immediately or wait until a more profitable time to sell high.

I think I might be able to help some.

As of late Gaia has been giving us a lot of the random item boxs. To me it seems the "rare" items that are not the "super rare items" are good for investments. Like in the Eseed, I got one of the blessings for 202k and now if i were to sell it i could sell it for over 300k.
This seems to be working well for me with short term investments and getting gold quickly.

Also Lupas is right, EIs can be a really great investment. My advice on that though is lurk some in the Gaia community discussion before you buy. The other thing about EIs that you should know is they are normally a long term investment. You need to be comfortable with your profit to, You may miss the peak price for an EI and you cant let that get you down about investing in them.

One of my guidelines about what to invest in long term is to look at avatars when I'm in the forums and see what people have actually equipped on them. Especially the free items - a lot are junk, but some become popular later. I'm looking at things like the Street Fighter Megapack and the House Bunny items - you used to be able to get them for 100 or so, and now some are selling for over 1000. That's what, 1000% profit? It adds up.

And yes, I think some of the items from this Easter event have some very good long term potential, so I've stocked up on some.

EIs take a lot of intestinal fortitude. Because one unpopular evolution can send the prices plummeting....which is hard on the stomach. And while the peak price usually comes just before the final evolution, what the price does after that no one knows. This is why they call it speculation.

I still invest in MCs in the form of letters. But I'm more into long term investment than short...meaning I won't resell immediately.
Like purple mentioned, note what most users equip on their avi. Check the reaction of the users when the items are first released, the jump or fall in prices can be a good indicator how that item will fare in the future. And there's letter sets, to get rid of those hard to sell letters. xD

I don't invest in EI, when I buy one, I do so to dress up avatars, it can be quite hard to predict especially when the next evo isn't popular.
