Tendaji was siting outside of the family den watching the sun set. It really is getting quite crowed inside there he thought as he watched others walk through the forest to their own homes. As he sat there he fiddled with a few stones that he kept by the den, the stones were clear for the most part but shot with color so when the sun lands on them they sparkel like little rainbows. Ten could remember when he found them, he was exploring the forest when he found a small hollow in a tree and in just moments he found the crystals, he could only assume that some creature found them pretty and hid them away that is until he found them. Ten let his mind wander and his paw stared the stones, they threw light on him and the ground around him, as he waited for his family to head on home.
Jasiri'ka yawned, his tail swinging behind him as he approached Siti's den, a small smile on his lips. It had only been a while since he confessed to the lioness and was accepted by her, but he felt the need to know her family and her more. How else will he fit in? How else can be play the role of 'father'? His smile widened as his nose picked up Siti's scent, and along with it, the scent of her children... No, how could he forget? They're now his family and his children too! He increased his pace, coming to a stop when the den came into view; is that someone outside the den?
Ten slowly aware of a pressence aproching and when he looked he saw Jasiri'ka heading to the den. Jasiri was in love with his mom and visa versa as far as he could tell. Ten was quite fond of the lion as well, mostly because he made his mom happy, but he never really spent any real time with him. As Ten watched Jasiri aproch he got a great idea and his eyes took on a teasing glint, "Hey Jasiri!" he called out as he grabed one of the light pink stones, "Catch" He lightly tosted it into the air where the last rays of light sparkled in and around the stone. Ten knew that he tossed the stone so it would not hit Jasiri, his aim was not that bad, so as soon as he threw the stone he got up and started to walk to Jasiri so he could show him the stone, when it landed, better.
The lion heard his name being called by an unfamiliar voice, and instinctly looked up, ears rotating to where the voice was from; he blushed slightly when he realized that it was the young lion outside of the den, his... His child. He froze, however, when something flew in his direction and landed a little in front of him; although he was too surprised to move for a second, he soon regained his composure and walked towards it, bending down to take a closer look. His eyes widened at its color, the way it seemed to sparkle and shine in the sunlight. Looking up, he saw the one who threw the stone at him approaching, and his heartbeat quickened as he shifted his paws nervously; what should he say? How should he greet the younger one? He swallowed a lump that was forming in his throat and managed a gentle smile, leaning forward as he nodded a greeting, "Hey there! You're... Tendaji?" The information Siti gave him flooded his brain, but he was sure he was the one.
Ten smiled shyly when Jasiri greeted him, he knew he wasnt the only one who was nervous because he could see Jasiri shifting his paws. To cover his shyness he put a little bit of a swager into his walk and ambled up to Jasiri. He sat down a little ways from him and smiled shyly "Hi. So um... what do you think of one of my little trinkets?" he asked, nodding to the pink stone, trying to break the ice with this new male in his life. Ten knew his mom would want him to get to know Jasiri and he knew Lila was already a great fan of him so he was more then willing to give Jasiri a try but he just didnt know what to say to the large male.
"I was surprised, to be honest," The male chuckled, turning to his attention to the 'trinket' before he turned back to the younger lion. He nodded, letting out a soft 'hm' before he continued, "Its a nice color, and unlike most stones, this one has a sparkle to it when its under the sun." He relaxed a little, his smile becoming more natural; Ten was being really friendly, and he could see that the other party was trying hard to ease the awkwardness... Unconsciously, Jasiri'ka smiled fondly at him before he sat down on his haunches, tossing his head a little to get his mane out of his eyes. Then, he paused for a second, tilting his head a little before he added, "Do you like collecting these colored stones, Ten?"
Tendaji was surprised that Jasiri answered honestly, Ten knew that adults done always tell the truth to 'kids' but he liked that Jasiri didnt try to lie to him. He was even more shocked when Jasiri started to talk about the stone like he knew alot about them. He smiled naturaly and started to squirm wanting to show him the other stones he left infront of the den, not everyone was intrested in the things that Tendaji found but mabey Jasiri would. "I dont collect just colored stones, I pick up just about anything that looks really cool. I just keep a few of the stones like this one, " He nudges the stone with his paw causing it to flash with light, "at the den. I think the girls like the light they give off, but I've never asked so I'm not sure." Ten shifted thinking a moment, "Um... would you like to see them?" He offered.
"Ah, so you like collecting things," Jasiri'ka replied with a soft chuckle and a smile as he lifted his bottom off the ground and got up, stretching his limbs and body before turning to face the younger lion; he nodded slowly, a light blush creeping up his cheeks at the invitation, "I'll love to see your collection... In fact, I'm glad you're willing to show me!" He chuckled again and added in a softer, more gentle voice as an afterthought, "I'm just glad and relieved that you don't mind me..."
"I only have a few things here cuz otherwise there wouldnt be any space in the den." Tendaji said then jokinly added "With the girls already there, there is little space as there is." He stood up after Jasiri'ka finished streching and started to walk to the den. "Most others are just busy so I kinda dont bother to show them anymore but since..." He blushed, "... well since you seem intresed and mom isnt back yet I figured you would like to see the others." He paused a moment and blew his growing mane out of his eyes before continuing on to the den where he spaced out the three other stones that he was playing with; a clear one, a cloudy one, and a light purple one. "Oh I forgot the pink one, be right back." he said as he raced the few feet back to where the stone was.
"Well, its not often that I get to see colored stones... I heard that they can be tricky to find." He nodded, as if to make his point. When they reached Ten's collection at the den, the lion completely relaxed; it was filled with Siti's scent... It will be his home. When Ten headed back to where they were a moment ago, Jasiri'ka found himself staring at the stones in front of him; he had a look of surprise mixed with awe and joy as his eyes darted from one colored stone to the next, admiring them while his host was away.

Ten hurryed back to Jasiri'ka and added the pink stone to the others, "I know that clear colored stones are hard to find so thats why I really like these." He puffed out his chest in a proud way, "I found them in a tree hollow, I think some animal found them and brought them to its home where I then found them." Ten was happy that Jasiri seemed to really like his stones, his mom liked them too but she was a girl and girl's like those types of things. "So do you collect anything?" Tendaji asked trying to find more out about Jasiri.
"That does sound like a lucky find," Jasiri'ka replied with a grin, lifting up his head to look at Ten as the younger lion returned. Then, he added with a wink, "However, I have a feeling that the one who first found these stones and kept it there will think its a mystery that they've disappeared." He chuckled, and made himself comfortable in before sitting down, his tail curling around his body. At the question, the male shook his head and gave a sheepish smile, "No, I don't." He paused, frowning a little before he continued, "Well, I have seen interesting things on my travels, but I've never had the habit of collecting them... If I do 'collect' anything, its only memories."
Ten smiled and said "You've traveled?" Tendaji was very impressed, he couldnt wait for his own time to go traveling, well besides with his family. "It must have been so cool, and collecting memories is like what the Kifuko does, right? What was it like? What did you see?" Ten started to play with the stones again but the sun had set so they no longer sparkeled. Twilight was slowly decending but Tendaji could care less, Jasiri was cool and he could sit here and ask a million questions.
"Ah, yes," Jasiri'ka smiled, a twinkle in his eyes, "I was a rogue before I met Siti and decided to stay here. Yes, like the Kifuko but I was someone without a fixed home to return to... I'll travel, moving from one place to the next. It was an exciting life, but it gets lonely sometimes... People whom you meet while wandering, you'll probably only get to see them that one time. The chances of meeting up again are rare." He paused, frowning, deep in thought. Then, he spoke again, hesitant at first but slowly becoming more firm, "I saw different prides and their traditions, although some prides are more hostile to rogues than others... I saw great lakes and huge waterfalls, a watering hole that would dry up when the dry season comes around and many different types of rivers... I really can't list all of it." He chuckled before adding quickly, "Oh yes. The sea... When I came to these lands, it was my first time seeing it... It is truly magnificent!"
Tendaji listened with his full attention as Jasiri described his travels, and with the normal feeling of a child trying to act adult he said "I'm sure I wont get lonely after all I like being alone sometimes, what with the family and all." Right after finishing his sentence he blushed realizing that he just insulted Jasiri, "Of course I dont mean that you don't have a family after all you have us, so um yeah." Ten shifted on his paws with his head hung, he felt bad for even lightly implying that Jasiri didnt have any family so when he mentioned the sea Ten immediately grasped that topic and said "Yeah its really cool, I love the things that wash up on the beach. I've found shells, coral, and even sea glass."

"Yes, the sea is filled with mysteries!" Jasiri'ka chuckled before he paused, looking more serious.
"I shall be honest with you, Ten... I lost my family when I was a cub," Jasiri'ka replied with a small, sad smile, bowing his head a little as he continued, "I think some two-leggers killed my mother. That was how I started wandering as a cub, due to hunger... I coincidentally met my father when I was a juvenile, but I fell into a river that swept me away from my father just days after I found him. I treasure both of them though, in my heart... However, I've moved on and my new family is all that matters to me now."
He smiled, genuinely happy as he gave Ten a friendly nuzzle - it was something his father had done, and Jasiri remembered how it cheered and warmed him up when he was feeling upset... He could only hope that it works for Ten as well.

Tendaji felt sad that he made Jasiri'ka remember his folks but when Jasiri was talking about treasuring his parents Ten felt somewhat better so when Jasiri gave him a friendly nuzzle Ten just leaned into the larger male.
Tendaji let out a huge yawn and settled down onto his front paws with his eyes turned to the sky. He watched as the first stars winked into life and said in a sleepy voice, "Ma should be back soon." As he slipped into sleep he snuggled into the warmth of Jasiri and almost like a dream a sleep slurred phrase drifts from Ten, "Night Poppa."

Jasiri'ka blushed; did Ten just call him 'Poppa'? As in 'father'? His heart started racing, a gentle smile forming on his lips as he gave the young lion a soft and loving nuzzle, careful not to wake him up. Then, he shifted himself so that he was laying down on his side right beside Ten, his body enveloping his son protectively.
The lion laid his head on his paw, his eyes rolling to the side to look at Ten; with a soft chuckle, he whispered, "Yeah, we can wait together... Good night, son."
And he started blushing again.
