As a lurker it's scary for me to post a topic, but I feel I should introduce myself. My name is Akshamala, obviously. But you guys may call me Amo, Ams, Ame, Amser, Amseroni or Aimee Beth (my real name is Aimee by the way). I'm a 16-year old girl living in an old farm house in the middle of nowhere (seriously). My whole family is pro-life, and so am I. Just to warn you I might be posting a lot of topics, shy that I am. But I hope you might find them interesting as I do.
To start, here is an entry made by a friend in deadjournal.com. I enjoyed reading it:

"I am anti-abortion.
Why? Because I am pro-choice. (mmm tastey food for thought)
There is one single moral I have (that I live by) which births all other morals as a chain reaction.
It is as follows:
----
Everyone is allowed to have a choice, so long as it does not inhibit someone else's ability to choose.
----
(note that here on in, a choice that does not meet the above criteria is from here on in referred to as a "Bad Choice")
Now, you may say, "What if I choose to rape that chick? Will you stop ME from choosing?"
Yes. There are two categories of people, let's say. In any given situation where action can be taken, there is the agressor, and the passivist.
If nobody makes any move, then the situation remains neutral, yes? Albeit boring, most likely (hehe).. but neutral. I hope you are with me on this, it gets complicated soon..
---
It's easiest to digest in an example:
Janie exists. Bob exists.
Janie and Bob get into a fight, Janie gets mad, and decides she wants to knife Bob.
Now, the situation was neutral as far as choices went, up until this point. They could have both chosen to walk away, to choose to live happily apart. By choosing to knife Bob, Janie would have eliminated Bob's ability to make ANY choices in the future whatsoever. Hence, Janie's choice to shiv Bob is indeed a Bad Choice.
---
With this in mind, let's take a look at abortion:
Fred and I choose to have sex. We both chose it. Cool. Oops, I get pregnant! Now, can I choose to terminate the child within me? It's my body too!...right?
NO. If I did, that would be infringing on the tiny person's right to choose.
"but it might live a bad life in this crazy society!" says you.
"Then baby can choose to end his own life, if it comes down to that..." says I.
"That's heartless!!!!"
"Is it better to kill the kid yourself, just to be on the safe side?"
.... i believe i've made my point there.
"What if I got raped, and then impregnated?" says you.
Well, the agressor should not have eliminated your ability to choose (as the passivist), and that was a truly horrible Bad Choice. It will not improve the situation to become the next agressor and make another Bad Choice. (refer to the above argument for more details on why abortion is considered a Bad Choice.)
---
I am perhaps rambling in tiredness now, but I've made my point.
Perhaps I am so darn pro-life, I've actually crossed the infinite boundary to a superpositive "pro choice."
BAMF! take that, friends!
Love, peace,
Laurie"
