Well so here's the story right now the dogs are allowed on the couch, but we are planning to get new sofas and they won't be allowed on it. Well we are going to get them some dog beds so they can lay on that, but they end up ripping them to shreds. Right now were starting to teach them that they aren't allowed on the sofas by each time they jump up tell them off and they'll get off. Right now Bo is sleeping on the welcome mat go figure and Abby is sleeping on the floor by the sofa.
Do u guys have any extra tips for teaching them to stay off the sofa and stopping them from destroying their dog beds?
Hmm... That is a tough one. You are doing the right thing with the couch although it might have been easier when the couches changed (no confusion about why the rule change) it sounds like they are accepting the new rules.
Not tearing up the beds is more troublesome. Do they have enough activities to keep them occupied during the day? try getting them a food toy to play with. Try removing the beds while you are gone.
