The title of the subforum says it all! Well, if that were true, I wouldn't be saying more-- This subforum is for: Asking questions!Getting help for RPing!RP Classes/WorkshopsPosting writing samples for critiqueAnd of course, giving advice!
You may post any thread that is asking a question about roleplaying, and any one may attempt to answer these questions. I hope that this subforum will be useful both to people new to roleplaying and to people not so new. wink

In my own words , it is : Playing with others as people (aka characters) you are not . A huge world of fantasy , if you will . For example , you may be playing as a superhero . We know superhero's with magical abilities and super strength and such do not exist in the real world , but in a Roleplay (aka RP) , anything can happen . However , there may be limitations (aka Rules) as to what abilties and such you character can weild . There are many types of Rp's , and in Rp's meant to seem like reality , you might just play as yourself !!
"Sometimes fiction is the closest thing to reality , and other times fiction is the fact ."

Are we talking about a picture of your RPC? (Role-Playing Character) If that's the question then what you do is get the direct link from photobucket (or whatever you're using, it's the link that you would enter into an address bar to go to a site where it's just that picture) and then click on "IMG" in the toolbox (above the text box where you post) and then when a box comes up (saying "enter your image URL"), paste the URL (address, direct link, whatever you want to call it) into the box and press OK. It will put the picture there by BB code. (might want to use "imgright" for bio's and such, makes it nice and neat looking) OR are you talking about making a link between a website and your post? Like where you click on the text and it goes to the website you want it to? That's easy, copy the address and go back to your post and click " URL" and insert the address into the box and click OK. Then in the second box put a description of the website. For example click here!like this: [url=]description[/url] hope that helps biggrin

Fiction is the definition of something that is not fact nor real, so a fact can never be fiction. Anyways.. I just wanted to add, that RP doesn't necessarily have to be based on something that is not real, it can take up any theme, krimi or even simple drama, and you can as well play as yourself, though it's usually not that fun. Roleplay is like acting.. a play unwritten, being created as it is played. Played without a manuscript, and only with the slight idea of plot, which usually finds itself in the head of the GM, DM or Storyteller, such artists goes by many names these days.

I'm an author and here's my story...
That's one of the ways Roleplayig is better than standard fiction(Novels, short stories etc). It is always changing because other people are involved. You get very defined characters with very different point of views. For example when I write short stories, I use the same sentence structure and word choice almost always whatever the character may be. But with different people, you can get a different voice from each of the characters. ...My life's been full of pain, now where's my glory?

Buddhadasupa_Da Ancient Who do we talk to to get started? No one, Ancient. Feel free to start whenever and wherever you like. Just make sure you're abiding by both Gaia's and our rules, and everything will be fine. Happy Roleplaying to all!
