I have some tea blends to share.
I believe this is only for women, who have stomach and intestinal problems, the leaves of the Uva Ursi plant would help. The berries of this plant are poisonous, but the leaves are fine.
The blend of Motherwort and Bugleweed is good for the heart and nervous system.
To have something bitter, a blend of Anise and Licorice Root (hot or iced).
To have a fun tea, a blend of peppermint, spearmint, and wintergreen (hot or iced).
Store - bought tea blends that are helpful:
Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer, Wild Berry Zinger, and Sleepy Time (what I have often to try to help me calm down at night and help me get to sleep). Could also alternate some of this with Yogi Calming Tea, or any other night-time blend.
Celestial Seasonings Echinacea Complete Care tea, with Bigelow I love Lemon tea, and a bit of honey - good to help fight off a cold.

I luuurrrve mint tea! In fact, Im drinking it now! One of my favorite recipes involves mint tea mixed with a pinch of clove and a small piece of crystallized ginger, which adds to the sweetness. Its quite spicy and I usually make it to brighten my mood, or if I'm surfing the crimson wave xp .
About 90% of my workings are "hearth-based" I guess you could say. I work a lot in the kitchen, but also around and outside of my house...maybe I'm a bit of a "cottage witch" 3nodding (And yeah, I've read the book by Ellen Dugan, nice read). I've found that when I use herbs, I'll use those we've grown and stored for cooking rather than some of the more hard-to-come by ones. Lavender, basil, sage, rosemary and the like...I keep it simple, and my "cauldron" is actually a small saucepan I picked up one day at Wal-mart whee .

Some of the people I know go off and tell people I'm the best at what I do: herbs and kitchen craft. I just say I'm good enough. I would love to share everything I do when it comes to that area but for the life of me and love of the goddess, I could never tell you what combination I used for whatever I did because I just let my power guide me. And it's hasn't failed me yet.
btw, i do not keep any poisonous herbs. Just in case. sweatdrop

Hmm. I've never heard of Uva Ursi being used for stomach issues, I will have to look into that! :3 I have heard of mint calming indigestion though.
Would lavender tea be good or is it too weak to be steeped?
OH! Question, does anyone make sugars?

Would lavender tea be good or is it too weak to be steeped? OH! Question, does anyone make sugars? Lol I -tried- to make vanilla sugar, but failed epically and haven't tried since. Lavender tea is on the weaker end...I've mixed crushed lavender into earl grey tea (which has bergamot oil in it, which tastes a little lavender/cirtus-y) and wow, talk about complimentary flavors!

Hmm. Did you stick vanilla pods in the sugar for about two weeks, in the dark? That might be part of it.
I made a cinnamon, clove and nutmeg sugar for Yule (I said X-mas to everyone else) presents.

I've read that people have varying opinions about kitchen ware and using it for their craft. Some don't like to use modern appliances, while others feel that the modern appliances are a huge help.
What is your opinion on this?
Then, I read in a book about Hedge witchery, that you can bless the appliance or tools with a small or simple blessing. This one lady used sigils or runes to bless her's.
Does a blessed appliance make it work better or should appliances not even be considered as part of kitchen/hedge witchery?

Well thats where you think with the mind of a Kitchenwitch. Hehe, would a kitchenwitch scorn a coffee maker in favor for french pressing it every morning?
I guess it would depend on the job at hand. I made bread with my kitchenaide, but I also kneaded it myself for a few moments to get that energy in. The mixer gets me my desired results, which mixing/kneading by hand gets me a flavorless lump of flour/water. I mean, later on I'll perfect a recipe that wont need a mixer, but for now I wont pass on it. Besides, it was like $200, and I'm the only one who uses it.
Something simple, like making chicken soup to aide in fighting off a cold...I'd do that by hand. Chop the veggies and chicken with a nice, sharp knife instead of a food processor. ninja

Herb Butter
1c. butter (or margerine) 1tsp Thyme* 1tsp Parsley* 1tsp Basil* 1/8 tsp Garlic Powder 1/8 tsp ground Black Pepper Pinch of kosher salt
~Let butter warm up to room temperature or microwave for 10-15 sec. (varies with different microwaves) ~Finely chop the herbs and mix into softened butter ~Mix in Garlic and Black Pepper ~Refrigerate or enjoy on bread/toast
