Looks like mud cause you are using a monotone of browns. You need to add some warm and cool colors in there, like purple and blue and some yellow and oranges. Cool colors make things seem to be further back in the picture, which is why they are usually in shadow-like areas, and warm colors bring things towards the viewer, like where the light hits and in the foreground.
