Self Rp Log: _ p a o cx

It was a cloudy day, which meant that it was cooler than usual, which made Tarik, more or less, a bit more lazy than usual. He was currently sprawled on the ground, eyes closed though in actuality he just woke up from a nice nap. He was lying down in the shade of a large marula tree right nearby a pond. It'd be a nice place to call home for a small family, but for Tarik it was probably the greatest place to relax. Of course seconded only to the Haven, but the mortal realm was incomparable to such a place. He rolled over onto his stomach, finally opening his eyes only to see that there was a female on the other side of the pond.

She was lucky enough to have gotten away with her life, that much she knew. However, the pain that wracked her body was almost unimaginable. After happening upon the little oasis Tumaini had pretty much collapsed from both exhaustion and pain. She was bleeding, she knew, and predators would probably tail her if she didn't wash the blood off soon, but she couldn't move. Even if she'd wanted to she couldn't get up from where she lay. It was as though her body refused to listen to her.

She was lying still, and he could smell the scent of blood coming off of her, so with a grunt the male stood and slowly made his way over to her. "Are you alright?" he asked while he was still a good distance away from her. It was a precaution, in case she didn't want anyone to get close. He stopped walking after he asked the question, not wanting to offend her in case she says to stay back. It was strange, how still she was. Almost as though she were dead, yet he could see the subtle rise and fall of her chest.

The sound of a male voice caused all her muscles to tense, though she still couldn't move them. She was in too much pain to consciously be on alert, however she felt she had to tell the other to keep away. "Stay back!" she said, her voice full of anger and absolute bitterness. She couldn't help it, even if she knew the nature of the one who'd done this to her, she couldn't keep herself from being angry with the other gender. "Don't come near me!"

At least he assumed correctly. "Alright," he said, taking a seat where he stood right then. He was in close enough to be heard, anyway, so it was fine. From where he sat he examined her as well as he could, noting where she was bleeding from and how much blood she'd lost. The male glanced up to see if she'd left a trail, mentally cursing when he saw that she did. Whatever it was that attacked her could have easily followed her here. Not that he was too worried, but it made him a little uneasy. "Were you followed?"

His question made her shake her head, though assuming he couldn't see her she decided to speak again. "No.." came her answer, her voice a little shaky. "The one who did this to me left me to die, so I don't think he'd bother to follow me." Mai lifted her head to get a better look at who she was speaking to. In her condition, though, she thought she might have been hallucinating when she saw that this male had wings.

Tarik shook his head at her reply, wanting to roll his eyes. He kept himself from doing the latter, though, since he felt it might insult her since she'd lost to whoever it was that attacked her. "I see," he said, clearing his throat as he tried to figure out what to do with the lioness. "I could help you out, if you'd like," he continued, raising a brow as he mulled over possible ways he could help. "Um.. I could bring you closer to the water so you can clean off your wounds..."

She didn't want his help...but she couldn't move. In fact, he probably could have helped her whether she liked it or not, and deciding that her pride (and bitterness, at that point as well) wasn't worth it. So, with a hesitant voice, she accepted. "Thank you.." the lioness said, then lowered her head back to the ground. "I'm Tumaini, Mai for short. Might I ask for your name?"

"Tarik," he replied as he stood and made his way over. At that point it didn't matter to him that he didn't have his guise on. What mattered was that he had to help her, since he offered his help to begin with. He had two soft spots when it came to mortals - cubs, and those who clearly needed help. This lioness was obviously belonged in the former category. Once he'd gotten close enough he leaned down and carefully maneuvered her onto his back, then he started toward the bank of the little pond.

She kept quiet as he hoisted her onto his strong back. Mai had her eyes closed so she hadn't noticed that he really did have wings. It didn't matter anyway, since the only thing on her mind was getting cleaned up and recovering from her wounds. "I'm sorry you had to waste your time though.." she said quietly, almost in a whisper. "I can't seem to move my body right now, so I couldn't get up earlier.." And she laughed wryly, tears beginning to form at the corners of her eyes.

"I'll clean them then," he said as he made his way over to the little pond. He lowered his maw to just above the surface, and in one breath he froze over the surface of the lake. He made it strong enough so both he and Mai could be supported. He felt a bit weak afterward, but he pushed the thought of exhaustion from his mind as he went ot the center and lowered Mai onto the surface of the frozen pond. "Now just relax, and keep your eyes closed.." and with that he stood back and concentrated on covering Mai's body with a thin layer of ice. Slowly but surely it happened, and once she'd been thoroughly covered (all but her head, of course), he willed the ice to melt and wash off the blood. He repeated the process several times before deeming her wounds clean enough.

When he lowered her onto what she thought would be dry ground, she was surprised to find that what she was lying down on was cold and kind of...wet? She almost opened her eyes to see what it was, but closed them shut when he instructed her to do so. There was no point in not listening, since he was doing her this huge of a favor. What happened next shocked her, though, as she felt her body start to suddenly go numb because the cold started to surround her whole body. Even the pain started to disappear, and she relaxed completely as it went on. Mai didn't even notice that the ice that had covered her body was being continuosly washed away, her body was so numb. When she could feel her legs again she noticed that the pain had reduced to a dull throb, though she still couldn't get herself to stand up.

Once he'd done his task, Tarik hoisted Mai onto his back once more, careful so as not to make her bleed again. He was tired though, so she was significantly heavier this time around. He made his way over to the shade of the nearby tree he'd been napping beneath and gently placed her by the base of the tree. "Go to sleep, you need to rest." With that the deity stepped back and distanced himself from the lioness, collapsing beside the bushes not too far from where she lay. He was too tired to really care where he lay, at that point, and almost as soon as he touched the ground he fell asleep. A deep, calming sleep, one that he'd been wanting for a long time now. And at that moment, one that he felt he deserved.

She was back on dry ground again, eyes flickering open as she watched the other take his leave. Almost.. he collapsed in some nearby bushes, but she couldn't stand up so she couldn't help him. He seemed to have fallen asleep though, so with a small smile the lioness followed after him, her anger and bitterness forgotten for the time being. Right now she was just glad that her wounds had been cleaned and she'd probably be able to make it back home the next day. If she got lucky, and if she didn't run into the likes of him again..
