Xeviel's hard red eyes closed. He felt surprisingly lethargic today. It was unusual. He was normally almost violent with his energy towards everyone. He felt he could be barely bothered with this stupid lesson.. and he'd have to deal with a girl too. Every single girl last time not only shot daggers at him, but shot them well. His arm has a fresh scar from it, and his undershirt did not hide the scar in his side either. Stupid girl. He was beginning to hate them. But, they were women after all. Couldn't figght with a dagger, and unable to pick up any large blades. It was all most of ;em could rely on.
He yawned and slowly opened his eyes, a piercing stare that was his normal look. He glanced at the door, and then all of the floor, where various weaponry was just laid down for anyone to pick up. This included crowbars, knives, large blades, unloaded guns, baseball bats, anything that could be considered a weapon was everywhere.
The prince of the street fights won many weapons when money could not be bet.

Wynni had gotten the note as it was handed to her by her mother. Riulve was letting the girl take on more and more responsibility as of late. Things the young pre-teen was apparently expected to deal with on her own instead of having a watchful eye hovering over her shoulder. The note had told her to come at a certain time and not be late it also said that if she wanted her parent could come.
On the day of the lesson she went, but went alone. Her mother approved of this, considering it was a melee based class in which her daughter must learn to make use of weapons and it wasn't the parent's place to sit and watch such things but rather to stay at home with congratulations on their lips for a trial passed and medical kit to ease the pain and bruises.
Wynni walked through the door without knocking, if she was to be expected why should she knock? The tall pre-teen's tail twitched back and forth at the tip as she announced, "I'm here," with her hands on her hips.

The melee teacher's harsh red eyes jerked up at the presence of another in his room, looking up at the strange lizardy girl. "I'm your teacher, Xeviel."He murmured quietly. "We'll begin the lesson now." He sighed and got up, taking out his dagger and twirling it expertly in his hand. He wavered for a moment, before bolting forward. He was not going to nick her as he usually did this time... he did not trust his eyes to work right now. He'll get himself checked over by his brother later.
For now, he would tap.

Wynni had expected the greeting but hadn't exactly expected the class to begin so soon still she adapted rather quickly moving though not quick enough. The blade ran across the skin of the bicep of her arm she felt it but it did not break the skin but there was a bit of a pink-and-darker green line across where it hit scale and flesh. She couldn't help but utter a surprised gasp as she moved her tail to help defend her clumsily lashing the tail-appendage at her teacher's legs to throw him off balance.
"W..Wynni reporting for class!" She uttered in between gasps of breath while she warily waited for the next move warily. The movement had surprised her enough to feel her heart tremor and beat furiously in her chest, even her wings trembled a bit.

Xeviel fell harshly on his side. He got up again swiftly. "Yes. I know." He spoke back when the girl mentioned her reporting for class. "You would've been dead by now. No one's gonna give you a second chance on the outside world." He spoke carefully. "Good use of the tail. You could've killed me there. Grab a dagger and let's try this again." He spoke, pointing to one near her foot as he hopped away nimbly despite his ribs hurting.

Wynni blinked at his words and retorted, "Wasn't going to say anything of the sort, was actually going to say that this was fun." Then she obediently bent and picked up the dagger but held it oddly, it was small and awkward for her at the moment. The praise had caused a small smile to appear on her lips. She had done something right! Wynni had been uncertain even though she had managed to knock her teacher off his feet.
Weapon in hand she fiddled with the hold for a moment while trying to keep a careful eye on Xeviel, her body took up a clumsy and uncertain stance in an effort to defend herself from further attacks from the melee teacher.

Xeviel went for the girl again, his feet surprisingly nimble despite his size and his stature. He was never one for pure muscle power. One had to fight when fighting. A beatdown is different from a fight. In a fight, everything equalliizes. The muscle man is slow but strong, and he weaker but quicker. In the end. it's about who can kill who first. A dagger on the neck kills quicker than a fist to the chest.
He dove in at once, dagger aiming for that tail.

Wynni watched him carefully and almost found herself over analyzing things as he suddenly began to move and she was unprepared. She went to move her tail out of harms way but he managed to catch the very top of it, the blade bit into the flesh, just barely causing a scratch and her to call out with a small squeak of surprise. She quickly moved the tail out of his reach turning to face him.
With the dagger she was now wielding she moved her hand in a clumsy motion to stab at his arm while he was still within her range, small beads of sweat were already forming upon her brow. She wasn't going to let him get the best of her, she was determined!
