AIM LOG: Remove & _ p a o cx It was cold and wet - that was all he knew. He could hear the sound of rainfall just beyond the mouth of the cave he'd happened upon earlier that day. It was fortunate for him that he'd found such a cave on his own, especially with the heavy rains that now beat down against the dry lands of the savanna. Garai lay still, ears twitching now and again as he calmly listened to the falling droplets. It almost sounded like a lullaby, and yet he couldn't fall asleep. With a heavy sigh the grown cheetah rolled onto his side, mind empty save for the sound of the rain. "...I'm hungry.."Thanda was getting use to the jungle and the strange weather that seemed to come with it. However it seemed today it wasn't just the jungle that felt the rain. She checked Rishi was asleep before leaving. She only ever went on her runs while he slept so that he wouldn't miss her or worry about her. Running in the rain, this will be different.
She moved carefully through the jungle and let herself leave the mass of green. How could it rain out of the jungle? She hadn't known it to before or maybe when she was little? Who knows? She set off, running and slipping. It didn't take her long to realise that she wasn't going to get far in this weather. It was raining more then she had ever known it to before. After slipping again she got up and shook herself, looking for somewhere to shelter before she goes back to find Rishi. The sound of someone running broke the sweet melody of his would-be-lullaby. It gave him a bit of a start, actually, but he managed to calm himself down enough to get onto all fours and make his way to the mouth of the cave. There he listened carefully, eyes closed as he waited for the sound to break through once more. After another moment or two they came again, and this time he was ready. Brushing aside the idea that whoever it was that was making their way through this storm was hostile, Rai called out to them. "Hey!" he yelled, his voice almost completely drowned out by the rainfall. "If you can hear me follow my voice! There's a cave over here!" And then he stayed quiet, waiting for a reply.Thanda nearly jumped as she heard someone call out. It was the last thing she had expected and she had only just heard it over the rain. Well if there was a cave it was worth going to.
"Thank you!" She called back though she wouldn't have a clue whether or not he would have heard her. She started to walk in the direction she was sure the voice had come from and was happily surprised to find she wasn't that far away at all. She walked over to the cave and went inside noticing the male.
"Hello and thank you, I am Thanda. It is nice to meet you." It was her place to talk to him first, after all he had invited her over.A female, by the sound of the faint voice. He'd barely managed to hear it, but it was there. Garai stepped a bit further back into the cave so she wouldn't startle him when she got there. As he listened for her pawsteps he lay back down on his stomach. Once she'd introduced herself he nodded, to acknowledge her presence, and returned the gesture. "Garai, and you're welcome. I would've wanted someone to do the same for me had I been in the same situation." His eyes were still closed, but he gave a smile in the general direction of Thanda's voice. "I have to ask though.. what exactly were you doing out there? The rain started pouring a long while ago.."

Thanda found it slightly odd that he kept his eyes closed but said nothing, some act differently to others, that was just life.
"I was out running. I tend to run while my mate sleeps, even in the rain. It doesn't usually rain outside the jungle so I wasn't expecting it." She smiled as she spoke as she was a friendly girl, one who would try and make everything better.
"Did you find this cave to shelter in?"
"I see," he said, though it was said almost under his breath. Rai turned his gaze toward the mouth of the cave when she asked her question, his smiling widening a bit. "I happened on it by some miracle a bit before the rain started," he chuckled in reply. "I've been in here since then." His stomach gave a quiet demand in the following silence, causing the cheetah to kind of shift uncomfortably where he lay, hoping that she hadn't heard it. "Ah, anyway," the male started, trying to keep the conversation going. "So you're from the jungle, you said?"
She had heard his stomach make a noise but didn't mention it.
"Yes I am from the jungle, I have lived there a while now. Rishi feels more at home there, he is a leopard and so I live with him. I just come out to run because though I am getting better at weaving between trees there is nothing quit like a flat out run!" She smiled again as she spoke. Oh how she adored running and it was perfect for her that she was able to be with Rishi and still run. It was like a dream come true.
"So how did you end up out this way? Just wandering?"
The male gave a sort of chuckle when she mentioned running freely out in the open lands. It wasn't something he could really enjoy himself, but it was nice (on occasion) to live through others' experiences. When she asked about how he'd gotten into his little predicament he gave another shrug. "Ah, yeah, you could say that. I'm a wanderer of sorts, though I'm guessing some might think I'm crazy for doing such a thing in my condition." He cut his explanation short. Rai didn't mind talking about it, actually, but it wasn't something he'd freely explain without being asked. "It must be nice though, running at top speed with the wind just...rushing past you," he went on with a smile. "I can't really remember the last time I went out for a run like that."
Thanda wanted to ask, she really did but she couldn't bring herself too. She thought it rude to ask about such things and if he wanted to talk about it he would.
"If you don't run what do you do for enjoyment?" She was curious, she didn't know what she would do without her running she loved it, adored it. Her running was her, it made her who she was. Without her running she would only be half of herself. It might seem strange but that was her. Cheetahs were made to run so she felt sympathy for this male though she would not say so in case it insulted him.

Rai gave another shrug - bad habit, no doubt, since he'd never been too good with words growing up. "Um.. listen, I guess. Recently, anyway. I never found much to enjoy when I was younger for various reasons." He flicked his ears, his smile still not faltering despite mentioning some things he didn't much like to talk about. It was subtle, anyway, and she didn't seem too interested to talk about it, which he was grateful for. Rai turned his attention to the rainfall outside, having noticed that it'd gotten significantly lighter in the past few minutes. "Seems like the rain's gonna stop soon, don't you think?"
She wasn't going to push it, he obviously wasn't comfortable talking about some things.
"Yes the rain does seem to be slowing. I suppose I should head back to the jungle. Rishi will probably worry if he wakes up and finds I am not there." She looked at him and sighed a little. He seemed so sad, she just hoped that he would find something to enjoy at some point.
"It was nice meeting you and maybe I will run into you again. Oh and thank you again for letting me shelter in here with you." She looked outside, the rain was easing, she was use to the rain and would easily be able to make her way home. She felt a little uneasy leaving him but she couldn't baby him.
His gaze followed after her voice, nodding when she said that she'd be taking her leave right then. "Maybe, and don't mention it." At that point he opened his eyes, pale green and unseeing as they were. "Ah, and it was nice meeting you too." And just like that he was alone again, so he lowered his head to his paws and closed his eyes. His main focus was still the rain drops just outside the cave, though it was softer now, and he could feel sleep starting to take over. Then, soon enough, he'd finally fallen asleep.
