Orphen was sitting in the sand, at the shore, with his legs folded underneath him, and his bag of shells at his side. He was nursing a slightly damaged hand, pouting a little. He had found a very pretty one, and upon picking it up, discovered that it was, in fact, home to a very unfriendly little pinch-happy crab. He sighed in an annoyed way, raising his hand up to his face, and narrowing his eyes as he peered at his very-red-nearly-purple finger.
"Stupid crab..."
He lowered his hand again, and looked towards the water, and instantly he went from frowning, to smiling serenely. He loved it here. The weather was finally nice enough to spend an hour or two at the ocean. He'd bought a picnic lunch for them and everything.

Norrin yawned as he trotted over. He had seen the sea many a time in his travels, as had Orphen as he had joined him the last couple of years, but he had to admit it was rare for it to be a nice, sunny day to enjoy it quite like this.
He slowly lowered himself down onto the sand next to the other, dropping a small pouch of some rather beautiful, rare looking shells, without crabs, beside the girly looking male.
"I think I'm done shell hunting for the day. Ah, did you hurt yourself?" He asked, inspecting the sore finger. Definitely a crab, the things were vicious, he'd much rather boil them and eat them, personally.

He looked at him, smiling wider as he took the pouch curiously, and took a look in there. "Oh, these are beautiful!" He blinked, and looked up, then pouted as Norrin looked at his hand, "It was a crab. It was huge, and crazy..." He said, shifting a little. It was barely two inches across, but Norrin didn't need to know that. "But its ok, just a little sore." He looked to the shells again, smiling. They really were beautiful.

"Ah. Would you like me to avenge your plight? We could add crab to our supper?" He said with a small chuckle, watching quite fondly as his shells were looked over. He had gone through quite a trek to seek out those shells, though he wouldn't inform him of this. The smile was most certainly worth it.
"What do you plan to do with them? Do you wish to make a necklace or a collection?" He asked, his ears twitching as he listened to the sea. Despite the constant waves, it seemed rather quiet. It was likely because he had sent away Sam, who was quite obnoxious and rowdy in his adolescence that he sent him off on a quest of sorts. And now that he was gone, he quite missed him.

Orphen laughed, and shook his head, "No, its alright, I've already forgiven it." He picked one of the shells up, and turned it over in his hands, "I was going to make a necklace, or decorate something, but these ones...I'm putting these somewhere safe, and keeping them," he said, grinning, "Especially this one. Where did you find these?" Orphen missed Sam too, but he knew he'd be back one day. That didn't stop him from worrying himself sick, but he'd gotten better had keeping that to himself.

"Those? Oh I found those in a cave some distance off. No doubt some more aquatic mer will be cursing me as his thief forever." He chuckled lightly, if a little awkwardly. It wouldn't surprise him at all if it was some secret collection of a mermaid or something like that, or that there were such creature out into the sea. Why wouldn't there be? There were Harpies that took the skies, why not something in the water. He stared at the waves briefly, as if expecting to see something.

Orphen turned the shell over, making a thoughtful, "I've never seen any of the water taur before. I've heard a lot about them. Cheveyo used to tell me stories, a few people I've run into in town have told me things," he looked up, smiling, "Well, if you did steal them, at least they can't come beat us and get them back. I heard that they don't have legs." He looked to the ocean, frowning slightly, "I bet its so interesting under there..." he shrugged, putting the shell down carefully.
