With a permission note from Nickle tucked into her purse, oh why did she have to carry one, Mareike stalked into the facility on a mission. It was simple enough, find vampy give him the letter and demand her lessons, which were far more important now that she'd gotten bigger and apparently her brain was now all hormones all the damned time, if she could learn to work with pheromones she could probably learn to tame these too. It was later in the evening than she usually came here but she doubted Vampy was sleeping just yet and it meant less techs to get in her way.
A little ways down the hallway there sat a familar red skinned child who seemed to be waiting like a cat patiently for someone to come across him so he could pounce. He had his back to where the entrance was and though he heard the door open he was relunctant to move his gaze from around the corner. He did though as curiousity won him over, his golden eyes flickered behind his shoulder and he caught side of a gorgous young woman whom it took him a second to realize was Mareike. Turning around sharply there was a scrable of claws as he bounded down the hallway a huge smile on his face.
"Mareike!" He shouted out in a happy tone.
Mareike looked up sharply at the sound of her name, more becuase it was coming from Pepper's voice than anything though, the strange boy was unpreditableand pronse to charging.. like now. rather than risk getting knocked off her feet the wrath girl dropped to her knees and smiled at Pepper. she was fond of the boy to be honest even if he was abit destructive and weird at times.
And true to her prediction he didn't slow but barreled into her head on his arms wrapping around her in a happy embrace. It felt like eons since he had seen her and by the way he was clinging to her it was as if he was afriad to let go of her. He burrowed his chest into ...her...chest? He didn't recal it being so large before not that he cared.
"You came back!" He said after a moment turning his head up to look at her he was smiling even if a bit dissapointed he hadn't been able to knock her over. But still pleased just the same that she was there.
Mareiked rolled her eyes " Of course I came back, I promised I would" although atm she was tempted to run away, she did like pepepr but damnit her breasts were not meant to run into or squeezed with such enthusiasm even if it was accidental it was still awkward for her. " what have you been up to?" she asked, it was easier to get him to let go if she could calm him down. though mareiek did reached out to pet his inky black hair, equally pleased to see him if she was honest.
Pepper enjoyed her petting his hair and seemed to crane his neck so that he could get more pets. If one looked at him it was...a bit of a scary sight, the kid hard dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn't slept in weeks. Though he still had energy was anyone's guess. He ...looked rather haggered for a toddler which was disturbing.
"Pepper chase white coats." He boasted proudly, though that was what he always seemed to do.
"Mareike grew!" he said after a moment laying his head on her chest again to snuggle he was fighting back a yawn, as the only time he ever showed he was tired was when he was with people he trusted.
mareike looked down at the boy with pity, this was kid who slept under someone elses bed, who chased lab techs all day and had probably no proper socilization. The wrath girl foudn it hard to be unfomfortable with him on her shelt liek that when she felt so bad for him. Frowning the maroon skinned girl stood picking pepper up in the process " I did grow and I promse I'll protect you ok, but I think you need to sleep" persoanlly at the moemnt she thought he needed a new hoem and wondered vaugly what the maxmum sentence for kidnapping a toddler was.
Pepper didn't resist as he was picked up instead tried to get more comfertable in her arms he clutched at her shirt with a clawed hand and forced back a yawn again.
"No sleep while Mareike around." He objected as he didn't want to miss a single second with her.
"You here why?" He inquired as he knew that despite wanting to think she just came to visit him .most people he ran into here only came if they had to.
I came to see vampy, but you're more important" she informed him as she carried him towards his room and hoped he didn;t ruin her new clothes. " and you will sleep and i will stay and watch you, I'm big now remember i can stay as logn as i want" not true but she;d simply tell nickle she wasn;t coming hoem untill she was happy pepper was ok and he;d have to deal.
Pepper shook his head trying to protest.
"Noooo...wanna play with!" he complained as he didn't want to sleep besides soon he wuold change and he wanted to show off to Mareike. Though why she would come to see that strange man he couldn't figure out.
"Why see silver hair man?" he instead tried to change the subject.
Mareike sighed, arguing with Pepper was almost always pointless, instead she chose to answer his question " i need his help" she admitted " i have thoughts and feeligns thier.. wrong and i need to fight them to have control." wether they were thoughts and feelign stirred up by hormones or pheromones it was all the same to her, a loss of control and a decent into a more pirmitive midnset.
Pepper raised a hand to touch her cheek in a strangely gentle manner.
"Fight? You fight silver man?" he sounded a bit worried about this. THat man scared Luthor and though he hadn't really seen anything to contribute that fear directly he could glean a sense that guy was not to be messed with. he shfited a bit in his arms before he seemed to get fidgety and wanted down.

Mareike laughed softly and smiled down at pepper before settign him back on his feet " I need his help to fight soemthign inside of me " she corrected.
Pepper on the ground seemed relieved though he paused a moment to look up at her again.
"Fight self?" he inquired nearly confused when a wave of pain crossed his face, he sank to the floor hanging his head as if suddenly graivity had become his foe.
" are you alright?" mareiked asked instantly cocnered, and wonderign if the boy was about to pass out or something? if he did she was so takign the kid home and to ******** withthe facility she;d burn the place to the ground
"Fine...just grow soon.." he replied after a moment, his breath sounded ragged. He wasn't sure why this time seemed to be worse than all the other times. Normally he could grow and go on his merry way with just mild discomfort. Of course that mild discomfort was actually very painful...he had just gotten use to it.
Mareike was confused but watched him silently a bit curious about how this growing thing was supposed to work. Still pepper didn;t seem to concerned about it and she trsuted his judgement on hsi own safety well to a degree atleast, this was akid who thought sleeping under a bed was fine
It hadn't taken much longer than a few seconds after he had spoken that his body stiffened, there was a sound of popping as suddenly Pepper's boy indeed started to grow, though instead of just growing some he...kept going, his features was twisted in pain though he didn't utter a sound until the process was complete. Still he was growing his limbs legthening and his poor shorts ripping as he grew beyond what they cuold fit. When done Pepper let out a sigh of relief, though now he was nearing seven feet in height the toddler no longer a kid..but a full grown teenager. He looked up his face no longer carried the hint of child roundness but were sharp as well his eyes still glittered golden as he smiled up at Mareike as he wanted to see her reaction.
Pepper smiled up at her, the smale boyish grin of his was deinately the same he then butted his head up against her leg as if she was being silly.
"Course Pepper." He replied, though the change in physical appearance it shouldn't of come as a shock that his voice had changed too. Deep and gravoly one could nearly say it was husky. Being taller though he found it awkward to stay on all fours...he could still manage it,but it felt strange to him so he was forced to stand up he gave a toothy grin as he peered down at her.
"Why fight silver man? Fight me 'stead." His intellectual level seemed..to have stayed the same..
Mareike rolled her eyes, just what the world needed a toddler with the looks and strength of a teenager. Speaking of strength she wondered if her leg was going to bruise from that headbutt. Still the wrath girl smiled it was good that pepper hadn;t changed too much, it would make thigns weird. " it's complicated and i'm not physically fighting vampy just " she shrugged technically she didn;t know what she'd be doing really but she doubted it involved actually fighting the man.
Pepper copyied her with rolling his own eyes, his dark hair trailed over his shoulders and his golden gaze latched onto Mareike and a curious manner.
"You want test strength?" he inquired taking her hand in his in a quick manner, though the careful way he made sure his large claws didn't bite into her skin showed he had some practice in this new body. He tugged on her in an eager manner.
"White coats flee when see me now." he laughed his voice boomed in the hallway the echo was errie as if this was all just some parlor trick and Pepper really wasn't this big.
Mareike laughed and yanked back on the boy trying to unbalance him " maybe, though we probably shouldn't do this in a hallway"might be interestign to spar with the boy. to see if his bigger size helped him despite having rather obvious tactics ina fight
Pepper turned his head his eyes widening as Mareike yanked back on him, his pleased smile only showed he was more than eager to play.
"Why not? All time I chase tech here. They just fix what breaks." He said with a shrug of his shoulders and yanked on the girl back in a teasing manner.
Mareike laughed and spread her wings fully to give herself a bit more balance as she tried again to yank pepper off his feet. " all well if only the techs have to deal with it" wasn;t too bad an idea making a mess for them to clean up, even if it might make vampy a bit less happy about helpign her later if she kept distractign his staff
Pepper jerked his arm back he seemed more than eager to get at it, he untangeled his hand from hers taking a couple of heavy steps backwards. He looked ready to spring at any moment. THe smile on his face betrayed the fun he was anticipating.
Mareike braced herself and watched Pepper with all three eyes, if he tackled her properly now she was going to end up on her a**. if she could watch him though and get a telltale muscle twitch or soemthing before he moved she'd be maybe able to use his attakc gainst him and flip him or use his own mommentum to trip him up. " come and play pepper" she taunted gently
Pepper only grinned, he sanke down to all fours his gaze locked on her to him this was all a game, he loved to wrestle and he found he really liked Mareike as well. Being taller than her felt weird and exilerating at the same time. Of course hormones he wasn't aware of pumped through his viens his nostrils flared as he caught her scent, he seemed frozen on the spot...and then the scrabble of claws as the only sound that gave him away to his lunge as suddenly he was flying towards her like a pouncing jungle cat.
Mareike tried to dodge forward and left as close to the wall as possible, which required her to fold oen wing. damn these narrow hallways
With her dodging he had no other choice but to move forward the screech of claws raking against tile and the fact he was leaving marks in the tile probably would alert the girl that he..was changing his direction pivoting as he rose to run on two legs, he still found running this way awkward but he was ina sense faster in his older form. his shoulder bone caught against the wall as he came too close but he didn't seem to slow any instead he shifted slightly stopping the drag though a dent could be seen in the wall. The boy seemed to be having way too much fun as he chased after her like they were playing tag.
Mareike shook her head in amazement before bolting down the hall, if she could get to the end and turned before he did she coulde tacle him once he tried and likely failed to make the corner. Bigger pepper might be but more skilled was still dubious. still, this was quite fun for mareike a good test of her skills in a very different manner than normal
His hand reached out and made a snatch for her, but then she turned the corner his gaze flickered to where she dissapeared to before suddenlythe next wall loomed up ahead. He slammed his hand into the walls hsi momentum causing his claws to make holes the suddenly slamming motion nummbed his arms. He snarled as he ripped his hands from the wall rubble trailing after him he shook his arms trying to get the feeling back into them.

It was of no surprise to mareike that pepper hadn't managed the corner well, still, she'd winced when he actually made impact with it, that had to be uncomfortable. her eyes widened though at the mess pepper made grassed his claws back out of the wall. oh heck no he was not getting the chance to get those thigns stuck in her even accidentally, she liked her insides inside her body thanks. Tuckign her wings to her back he lunged for him, the wrath child not sure she could knock pepper over but determined to try.
Pepper saw her coming but his arms were jsut gettnig over being like jelly he only managed to lift it up to block most of the impact of her lunge though he still staggered back a couple of steps his claws on his feet dug into the floor on instinct. He gave a playful growling sound as he shook the numbness from his other arm and then wrapped it around her waist pulling her close against him. He hadn't thought the manuver over too well as he now had his arm crushed between his chest and hers, and wasn't exactly sure what he should be doing with her now. Throwing her seemed like..a good iea but he didn't want to hurt her. So instead he bent his head down and nuzzeled against her forhead a purring noise..if one could call it that coming from deep in his throat.
Mareike blinked at Pepper's unusual tactic this was.. confusing and the wrath girl wasn't sure what to make of it. he didn;t seem to be attack anything infact he seemed to have.. well she wasn;t sure what the hell he was doing . surrenderring or claiming victory. The girl's demaon blood insisted the figth wasn;t over that the battle had just becuase and get he was holding her close and purring and oh gods the awkward thoughts mut stop the awkward thoughts " let go please" she whined , face flushing as she curned her damn hormones a million times over.
Pepper didn't stop he seemed to be enjoying the closeness and holding Mareike. Nuzzling against her head he moved to nuzzle into the crook ofher neck, something that as a child would of seemed cute...but as a fully grown teenager probably held a bit more meaning to it than just being friendly.
"Mareike fun." He stated with a purr removing his arm so he could reach up to stroke her hair, he liked being taller than her. It let him see her pretty eyes.
" I am more fun when I am not thinking bad thoughts that would get me locked away for years and years." God damnit this was not fair, he was a kid atleast in spirit and she was decidedly not and why did her body have to be weak to this, why was this a thign she could not control. although the hair petting atleast mareike found tolerable and osrt of nice, relaxing almost.
Curious Pepper leaned in close observing her expression as she seemed to want to get away fro him.
"Bad thoughts?" He inquired completely oblivious to...just how wrong this looked. He was basically nakid...teenager holding a girl in his arms. How could this not look bad? By how he moved it was easy to tell that he had practice in his larger body, he was extra careful holding Mareike his hand
behind her back was in a fist so his claws wuold not accidentally hurt her, his fingers were very light in her hair as if teasing it.
"I hurt people who try lock Mareike. Mareike mine." He stated boldly.
The girl breathed deeply and tried to think logically and ignore the way her body seemed to think that now was areally good time to pay attention to boys. this would have been so much easier t if they were still fighting, she never noticed and awkwardness or uncumfortable closeeness with other when brawling. " i apprecaite that well the sentiment" well most of it, she was most certainly not his, the girl belogn to herself, other people belonged to her.
Pepper gave a bark of laughter before he leaned his forhead against hers. He stared into her eyes a long moment.
"Good. Pepper like Mareike." He said with a nod that probably was a bit uncomferable with his forhead pressed to hers. ..He certianly did not know about personal space...
"Pepper want Mareike." He stated suddenly his arm tightened around her. "Don't want to be..alone no more." He stated in a sad tone.
Mareike had no particualr desire to be squished but she stopped resisitng and tryign to squirm away, it was very hard to desire your freedom when it could cost someone else thier happiness. The thistle haired girl knew pepper didn;t see a lot of peopel becuase he was stuck here and it was too much to take away her company even if thier current embrace was rather uncomfortable, He wasn;t goignto suffer if she could help it. " I won't go anywhere" she promised " I won;t leave you alone." at the very least she was really really consdiering kidnapping .
Pepper's purring noise seemed to deepen showing how pleased he was to hear her say that. He nuzzeled against her cheek before finally releasing her. He was still a toddler after all and though he enjoyed the hugging his attention span was still worse for wear. BUt he beamed down at her and took her hand.
"Come to garden? Pretty there." he stated after a moment.
mareike nodded " sure" she was relived to be free to breath again and settle her mind, the gardens would certainly help
Pepper nodded his head leading her towards the celestial area. He paused at the entrance way looking up at the cherubs somewaht disdianfully...he felt like he really didn't belong here...but...he wanted to show Mareike the pretty garden he had come across a few times before. He led her inside there were few people about and when they got to the garden he immediately plopped down and sat he looked up at her smiling still holding her hand.

Mareike had noticed the way he regarded the chrubs but said nothing, she was equally at odds with such things never really feeling in toucn with her angelic side at all and her conversation with the angel to whom she owed half her life hadn;t been of much help either, infact she seemed to have bothered the woman. Now the wrath girl focused on trying to enjoy the garden while she loosely held Pepper's hand. " are there bees in here" she asked curiously not that she was worried so much as not desiring to see pepper chase after the poor creatures, they were sort of nessicary.
