...is Motoko SO scared of turtles. I dont think it ever says in the manga and i hav yet to get the anime (gettin it next week YES). Anyone??

I think she got startled by the large turtle when younger. Because her sister freaked out because Motoko was afraid, Motoko became afraid of her sister. And then by extension, she became afraid of turtles because of letting down her sister. Kinda like a porpupine victim is afraid of needles.
