(( Hehe. :3
There's no need to make your reply this long; mine's mainly this long because I'm playing so many Pae'il... ))

"Okeanos! Get back in the water, you know you can't breathe out here." Flustered, Aysu scooped up the little, giggling toddler and plopped him back into the tub that they had pulled into the living room so he could be with everyone else. "There. You little brat... how did you get out of there, anyway?"

The only response Aysu got from that little naiad was giggles. Of course, even if he was going to say anything else, something loud and solid against the door interrupted all hopes of getting a better answer.

THUD.

Criofan lazily stretched like a cat on the couch and yawned lightly. The leprechaun, though resting, was still always alert. His one opened eye flicked over in Aysu's direction. "Mm, Aysu, what's that noise?"

"I don't know." Aysu knit her brows. "Why don't you check? You're the lucky one; if you go, maybe it'll just be a rather large mouse. Or perhaps it's just Fernand. Didn't Esmée say he was getting a few books from the Headquarters for her?"

"Ah'm pretty sure Fernand already got back. Mm, 'pose Ah'll go check..."

Before Criofan could lift his lazy body off the couch, however, Magnus had already made it to the door. He opened the door slowly at first, but then threw the door the rest of the way open. "Hey!" remarked Magnus, turning towards the living room. "It's some random purple guy! I think he's here to join my harem. Excellent, I was just looking for more members!" Of course, he hadn't a clue that the man wouldn't be able to hear his ridiculous claims.

"Even if someone actually was joining your ridiculous harem," remarked Criofan, flippantly, "Ah don't think they'd be so desperate that they'd throw themselves at the door so loudly." The leprechaun soon enough joined Magnus at the door, glancing down at the man that Magnus had casually let into the house. Wait, where had he seen a dark purple demon before?

"Er, Magnus?"

At about the same time, two other people began to approach the front door. "Is everything alright over there?" Texas came down the front hallway, Zuri in tow. It seemed this strange man's arrival was attracting everyone but Esmée over to the door. "Zuri said he heard a thud inside so we came in to check it out..."

Before he managed to finish, he noticed who was at the door. Wasn't Esmée usually with him at every gathering? Texas didn't remember if he had officially met him, but all the same. "s**t, Bneut, what happened to you?"

His eyes weren't entirely closed at this point, though he couldn't see any lips to respond to voices. All he knew as Esmee's legs weren't around.

With an quiet groan he started to stand up, a few unbroken bones making cracking noises as he did so. Bneut looked up at Texas, in too much pain to pay attention to more than his lips. He caught the last of the question, and assumed the last of it.

"Ran into some stupid spots looking for a gem and ore for Esmee." He managed to say, putting more pressure on his side, eyes closing to hide the wince at the fresh stab of pain. This time he spoke to everyone else who seemed to think he could hear. "No meaning to be rude, but stop talking to me. My eyes are closed, I can't hear you." He would've proved his point, but he didn't have anything loud on him, nor did he ever really.

The purple demon leaned heavily against the wall, cracking an eye once more to look for his beloved Esmee. "Where is she?"

"What does he mean he can't hear us? We're talking plenty loudly." Magnus knit his brows, mildly confused. He really didn't know much about Esmée's love--certainly not enough to know that he was a little more than hard of hearing.

"Magnus, he's deaf." Texas sighed, walking over to Bneut. Even if the man didn't want to accept it, Texas offered his shoulder for Bneut. It seemed the man needed a little support.

The fae of intoxication blinked in surprise. "He's deaf, she might-as-well be blind without those glasses... what a pair." He chuckled. "As for Esmée, not sure where she ran off to."

Aysu left Okeanos in the living room for the moment. The naiad skipped over to join everyone who was beginning to crowd in the hallway. The only one missing was the one Bneut wanted... "She's over in the study, I believe. Well, that's where she usually is. I'll go check." With that, the naiad ran up the stairs to go find the aforementioned Esmée.

"Bneut, stay there." Criofan actually seemed concerned. "Ya' look broken, ta' say the least."

He hadn't realized the cause of the commotion was how broken he had wound up from his trip. When he noticed Texas's offer, he shook his head. The pain was starting to numb, even if it wouldn't go away. "Thanks though."

Bneut was still looking at Texas as Criofan spoke, he didn't even notice the fae was moving his lips. So much for impecible eye sight. "Didn' mean to cause chaos.." Oh how he wished he could paint it, even if he couldn't lift his arm to put a brush to canvas. It was only a moment longer before he closed his eyes, shutting out the 'voices' again.

"You're not creating a commotion, don't concern yourself," offered Texas, before the battered man closed his eyes and ears to the world once again. While he was causing a bit of chaos, there was no need for Bneut to concern himself at the moment. Saying Bneut ran into some 'stupid spots' sounded like a bit of an understatement. What exactly had the young man run into?

"Texy, what kind of 'stupid spots' do you think Bneut was talking about?" asked Zuri, scratching his head. "Stupid spots is a little vague."

"Maybe he just wants to tell Esmée first. Let's wait until Aysu manages to locate her..."

He wouldn't willingly admit he was mostly injured because he was beaten to a bloody pulp by the same pae that had made him deaf. At least not to anyone but Esmee.

"Fell into a hole." Bneut said with a sigh, eyes still closed. He figured they were talking about it now that he had his eyes shut and had the chance. This was the last of what he would admit though. The demonic settled for waiting for Esmee now, everyone else wasn't there for all he knew as he leaned on the wall.

"Ouch!" exclaimed Zuri, shuddering as he realized how deep of a hole Bneut must have fallen down to obtain so many injuries to his body. It was a lucky thing that man could still stand up, even if it was by leaning against a door frame. "Poor Bneut must've fallen pretty far! Why did he come here instead of going to the healing house place?"

"I'm sure he has his reasons, Zuri--" Before Criofan could say anything further, Esmée rushed by like a tornado, nearly bowling over everyone in her way in the process.

Esmée skidded to a stop next to Texas and in front of Bneut, and her hand immediately went to one of his wounds. Then, she pulled her hand back, not sure if that would hurt more than help. The purple angelic bit her lip and shivered in fright. Was he okay?! He looked exhausted and-- "When did he get here?!" She sputtered at Texas, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him.

"He just got here a few minutes ago! He's alive, isn't he?! Please stop!" Texas looked a little dizzy when Esmée practically tossed Texas out of her grasp, and thusly, he fell onto the ground in a dazed heep. She then turned her attention back to Bneut, looking terrified.

It only took him a second to realize the mistake his feet had made in taking him here, but he'd rather be with Esmee than the healing house. Feeling her hand on a wound, his eyes opened in response, using his free arm to take her hand.

"Calm down Esmee." Even without hearing he could tell how worried she was. Quickly as he could, he pulled his fiancee off the dizzy Texas, and close to him. "I didn't mean to worry you." He would of course tell her the whole story, when her family wasn't around. "Your ring is being made, that's all." The demonic smiled at her before putting his head on her shoulder, it was closer to her ear than before.

"This is preferable to the healing house." He whispered, though he knew the pae that were still probably surrounding them wanted to know why he was there instead of the healing house as well. "Please stop worrying, everything is going to be fine."

She knit her brows and pulled away from him, shaking her head. "No one here can help you heal properly. Logically, you should have gone to the healing house so they could heal your wounds. Worry about me second. How am I supposed to help you? I suppose I have a few books that I could read to get some advice. I'm sure Fernand could find them because he likes to keep track of my expansive library..."

When worried, the intellectual couldn't stop her mouth from going on and on continuously.

When he finally got his balance back, Texas came to a wobbly standing position and motioned for the others to leave the two alone. Perhaps they would get more accomplished without such a crowd around. ...That and he didn't want Esmée to use him as something to shake again.

He did notice the others leaving, and was somewhat grateful for it. "Esmee, please calm down. I didn't mean to come here, though I didn't want to go to the healing house." He was fairly sure no one was listening.

"I ran into the pae that made me deaf, after that it was a half conscious stumble to the ring maker followed by the trip here. I'll heal just fine, even without the healing house." Bneut tried to assure her, knowing it probably wouldn't work. "If you're that worried, we can go to the healing house Dearest."

"Bneut!" exclaimed Esmée, horrified after he mentioned that he happened to run into the Pae'il who had happened to make him deaf all of those years ago. "He did this? You look a mess. Show me where he is and I'll give him a hurtin' that'll make his children cry." The angelic one had went from concerned to ready to kill in two seconds flat.

She hardly remembered that he should be going to the Healing House with all of the anger suddenly raging within her. The poor girl was shifting emotions faster than the seconds. "Let me get Fernand, and then we'll go out and beat this guy to the ground for what he did! Having your bones broken is nothing to simply shrug off!"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 08, 2009 10:11 pm

He winced, even without ears he could tell her tone would hurt anyone's ears. "Esmee, he'll hurt you beyond your worst nightmares." Bneut wasn't about to let her go near that particular pae.

"We don't need two deaf pae running around like this do we?" He chuckled, quickly wishing he hadn't. The laugh had hurt, far worse than he wanted to admit, though it had caused a sharp intake of breath that he was positive Esmee would hear.

"Ow.. Healing house first, then discussion about not trying to attack that b*****d."

It was a good thing that Esmée had caught Bneut's painful breath, or perhaps she might have stormed off anyway. The angelic took a deep breath to calm herself at least briefly so they could get to the healing house. "Right, healing house. Let me go get Fernand--"

Esmée was cut off by a sound that only she could hear. "I'm already here, Esmée. Mm, this Bneut fellow looks a mess. Say we get him to the Healing House? Unless you wish to practice your doctoral skills; you have read plenty of books on Pae'il anatomy and function." A penguin waddled up to join Esmée, observing the purple demonic with a keen eye. This must have been her familiar.

"No, Fernand," Esmée chuckled. "We are going to take him to the Healing House. ...Erm, you know where it is, right?"

Fernand confirmed this with a curt nod. Then, he waddled over to the still open door and pushed it fully open before heading outside. "You may have to support that demonic, Esmée. He doesn't appear to be very steady."

"I would've done that anyway!" exclaimed Esmée at a voice that didn't seem to exist, before she offered her shoulder to Bneut in a similar manner as Texas had earlier. "If we're going to have to walk there," insisted Esmée, "at least take my assistance. If not for you, for me." She wanted to feel like she was helping instead of worsening the whole thing by making him walk more.

He bit his lip, choosing to stay silent to any pain that might have been caused by the extra walking. He had after all told her that they could go to the healing house if she would feel better.

Bneut was slightly more reluctant to put weight on Esmee, but knew what she would say and do if he didn't. With a very subtle wince, he leaned against his fiance.

"It's kind of out of place, but after we're done in the healing house you should start looking for dresses." He smiled, looking at the love of his life. "Your ring and pendant are being made."

"Well, that's great, Bneut, but let's worry about that after you're better. I don't care how quickly the Healing House gets done, I insist we wait a little." Esmée didn't want to think of wedding plans right now. This wasn't the time for that. This was the time to get Bneut back to full functionality. "Hey, Fernand, slow down a little!"

"Apologies, dear Esmée. I am very used to your quick movement pace." It would seem to anyone else that Fernand paused briefly before suddenly deciding to listen and resume walking at a much slower pace.

"At least the Healing House isn't all that far from here," offered Esmée. "Hopefully we won't be walking for too long. I wouldn't want to agitate your injuries any further." Too bad she didn't have anything that could transport him around quickly. Aysu's magic bag couldn't help.
