Wylde sat out in front of the shop on a large folding chair. On his lap was a small auburn haired girl who was looking at the book that was laid open in front of both of them and seemed to be pretending to read right along with the odd man. Wylde was trying to be more forceful about giving the child up for adoption now. She had been stuck here for weeks and it wasn't helping anyone, least of all him. He had things he needed to get done and projects to move on to and disappearing objects to relocate.

He didn't blame either child for the objects that disappeared but then again who else could it have been? Near them sat a sign with the words: 'THUK ADOPTION DAY! GET YOUR COMPANION TODAY".

The only thing odd about this scene was that it was early evening and the only light the pair had to 'read' by was small glowing orb floating above them.

This was nice, going out for a walk on her own just because she felt like it. Claudine was in a good mood, she just felt like going out on her own for once without even Bethany attending to her every whim as she normally did. It was a nice night out too. She'd have to get something for Arianna and Bernadette while she was out, Bern had wanted to come with her but she refused to let anyone accompany her.

She hadn't been out for very long when a small light caught her eye...damnit, why was she so curious about that light. It was probably just someone out enjoying the evening air like she was, someone with a small child on their lap. How sweet. Claudine tried to hide a smile behind her hand, pretending to yawn as she started to walk by the man with his child. For the mere fact that it was a man sitting there they didn't get a second glance, but it was the sign near them that caught her attention.

Thuk adoption day? What? That actually made Claudine double-take and stare at the sign, stopping where she was and looking rather...perplexed. She was so confused she couldn't believe she was asking what was coming out of her mouth, "What is a Thuk?" It sounded like a crude curse with a lisp.

He didn't look up at the woman and simply kept scanning the page with his eyes and reading but he did nod down to the child on his lap in reply to her question. The small girl had stopped her reading and stared up at the woman with large blue eyes. The girl seemed quiet, at least for now and simply wanted nothing more than to observe this interesting looking woman in front of her.

Sure she liked the silly man. The man had fed her, kept a roof over her head, and sometimes kept that scary thing away from her that seemed to lurk in the shop but she never saw.

Wylde finally looked up at the woman, "A 'Thuk' is anything and everything, and in this case it is a small girl that is up for adoption to a good home." He said nonchalantly which was opposite of what he REALLY felt. He was hoping that by the end of this foolish woman's inquiries that he'd be able to see the small girl to a new home and then Wylde would be free of responsibilities to her (mostly).

Claudine frowned at the man who continued to just sit and read when clearly she was asking what his sign was all about. How rude! But the little girl was staring at her and she looked adorable, a thought that Claudine might not have ever had a thought like that before Arianna came along. Heh. But she was a cutie. Very darling and all that.

When the man finally looked up at her she raised a brow and waited for some kind of answer. Anything and everything...interesting. That small girl was the thuk?! Claudine looked bewildered, staring at the man sitting in front of her with a dropped jaw and wide eyes. "You're just offering her up like a puppy?" What a...what an imbecile! Children were not pets that could just be adopted away when you get tired of them! That wasn't even a humane thing to do with a pet! Ugh. Men. Disgusting and stupid. She wanted to leave this man to his idiocy...but she didn't want to just abandon this adorable little girl with him, it wasn't her fault her father was an idiot.

The odd man looked up at the woman with an eyebrow raised and then he shifted his shoulders into a small shrug, "I do have standards," he pointed out airily as his fingertips twirled one of the small girl's auburn curls, "but you seem to want to assume the worst of me." He sounded a bit hurt and sulky though he was everything but.

"Either way," Wylde continued, "I am offering her up for adoption to a loving home. My shop is no place to raise a little girl, and, well I am nothing but a man. I wouldn't be able to assist her as she grows older." He gave a small sigh as if saddened about having to give her up. It wasn't certain if this was all dramatics or if this is how he truly felt.

The small girl kept watching Claudine with wide blue eyes. She liked this woman she was dignified, refined, and perhaps someone that could take real good care of her. Besides there was this a bit of a 'pull' that was calling the child to the woman that she could not explain nor had words to explain. An instant bond.

Standards. Right, like any man really had those. He was right about one thing though, she did assume the worst of him, but she assumed the worst of all men equally so it wasn't anything personal; Claudine didn't really care if she hurt the man's feelings in the slightest, it was the small girl she was thinking of.

Claudine silently agreed with the man's explanation that his shop, and the fact that he was a man, was a terrible childhood for a little girl. She needed something better, something beneficial, something that wouldn't screw her up for the rest of her life...Claudine was not the ideal choice for that. Although Bernadette did want a sibling...no! Don't think of her like that! It's not like getting a pet for a daughter! The woman sighed and put her palm to her forehead, tangling her fingers in her hair and pushing her bangs away from her face. This man was irritating.

The feeling of being stared at brought her attention back down to the little girl, bend at the knee and balancing herself on the balls of her feet, dropping her arms on her lap and staring back at the girl now that she was eye level. She was adorable, and she couldn't help but want to play with those pretty curls of hers. "Do you have a name, little one?"

Feminist.

Wylde still smiled a bit wanly at the woman even as she stared at him with distaste. He didn't really care what she thought of felt about him but it seemed important to get the child out of the shop as soon as possible before she imprinted on him or someone worse. He let the girl go allowing her free movement as the woman knelt before her. Wylde had nothing else to say to the woman for the moment other than the eventual contractual things that needed to be taken care of before the woman left with the child, if she left with the child.

The small auburn haired girl gave the woman the full effect of her soulful blue eyed gaze and shook her head sadly (just as Wylde had taught her). "Give me one?" her bottom lip wibbled just a tad. The small girl had obviously chosen the strange woman before her as she had not done this with anyone else; in fact she refused to talk or interact with them as Wylde commanded.

Claudine was shocked by the answer and soon following question the little girl gave her, staring at her in disbelief. She had no name?! How could someone be so stupid as to not give a child a name even if they have no intention of keeping the child?! She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose for a moment, closing her eyes and shaking her head. How could one person be so irresponsible?

This girl wanted her to give her a name? Claudine opened one eye and watched the girl quietly, finding a pair of big blue eyes staring back hopefully at her. How could anyone want to be rid of such a pretty little thing? A tiny smile quirked up from the corner of Claudine's lips, reaching out with one hand to gently tug town one of the little girl's curls and let it go, watching it spring back into place. The girl giggled and shook her head a little to make the curls bounce for this nice lady's amusement, clasping her hands behind her back and standing in front of the woman as she rocked from heel to toe.

"Lucille sounds like a name that would fit you." Claudine finally told the little girl, watching her for some kind of reaction. The little girl clapped her hands together underneath her chin now. She had a name now! She'd never been upset over the strange man who had been taking care of her until now not giving her a name, although he had been calling her weird things like 'Thuk' and 'Gary' and 'No! Don't touch that!', but she was so happy now to have a real name!

"That's pretty!" Lucille chirped, smiling at Claudine. The woman smiled and sighed, finally deciding it was probably a hopeless cause now. She had to take in Lucille now, didn't she? The girl hadn't taken her eyes off her since she first asked what a Thuk was, and now she'd named her. This idiot man had somehow suckered Claudine into staying long enough to form some kind of attachment to the poor thing. That little b*****d.

"I'm glad you like it." At least she was sweet so far. That was when she noticed something odd about Lucille's left arm. What the... "Is that an eye?" Lucille blinked and glanced down at her arm, giggling and nodding. Yup! It was an eye! Was that strange?

Things were according to his plan. Of course it deviated a bit but all-in-all it was going pretty smoothly especially now that the woman had named the child. He reached over toward the area next to the chair that he and the child had been occupying and first brought up a raggedy old bear that the child had been carting along since the day he had discovered her wandering in his shop. "Can't forget your buddy," Wylde said in a friendly tone to the child. He did care what happened to the children at least enough to make sure they didn't forget their beloved things and leave them behind.

"Seems like you are taking her in, Ms..." Wylde trailed off as he looked up at the woman with an eyebrow lofted upwards, expecting a name. He was already reaching again next to his chair for a folder that held paperwork that needed signing. At least he was responsible enough to keep records (mostly due to his brother's insistence that he do so).

Lucille's head whipped around to Wylde when her buddy was mentioned, gasping and grabbing the raggedy patched up bear from the man, hugging him tight against her. If she'd forgotten him she didn't know what she'd do! She turned to Claudine with a big smile. "My Gary!" He needed a name too, and since Wylde had called her Gary it seemed like a perfectly suitable name for her best buddy!

Claudine chuckled and smiled, looking much more at ease than she had moments ago. When Wylde spoke to her she looked up at him and glanced at the paperwork in his hands, at least his efficiency made up for his horrible methods. "Claudine Voisin." She answered simply, patting Lucille's head. Lucille smiled and closed her eyes, hugging Gary tight. Yay! She was going to go home with the nice lady!

Wylde grinned at the girl and then looked up at Claudine and nodded a bit. He was crazy, certainly, but he wasn't the completely disorganized sort of crazy for the most part. He wrote a couple of things down on the contract upon the book on his lap, using it as a writing surface and then offered up book, paper, and a pen to Claudine, "A'ight, you just sign next to 'x' there." The 'x' was located at the bottom and the date was already filled in for her as well. All she needed to worry about was signing.

"If you have a problem you can reach me here. I'm Wylde Riddim or you can also talk to my brother, Khan." The strange man didn't bother explaining what his brother looked like and likely left it up to assumption for the most part. If a man that looked slightly similar to him was wandering around he figured people would assume it was some weird doppleganger with a stick up its a** or his brother.

While Wylde did the paperwork that allowed Claudine to take her home Lucille hummed and twisted her upper half side to side, watching Claudine watch Wylde write. Claudine stood up when she was told what to do and given the book, paper and pen, holding the book carefully in one arm so she could write her signature at the bottom. She glanced over it for a moment out of curiosity since she'd never filled one of these out before, Bernadette had just...appeared and she'd never cared for a child before then. Interesting.

"Alright." There were two of him? Grand. Claudine handed back the things Wylde had given her and looked down at Lucille with a smile, Lucille beamed back up at her new mother. "Is there anything else, or may I take her home now?" It was getting late for children her age, and it would probably be a good idea for them to start heading home now. Lucille turned back to Wylde with expectant eyes, holding Gary in one arm and holding the other out for a hug. She'd been here for weeks and weeks! And now that she was leaving she wanted to say goodbye!

There was nothing odd about the contract and it simply stated that Claudine was responsible for the child now and that if there was any problem beyond her ability to cope with that she may bring the child back for himself or someone with 'experience' to help puzzle it out whatever it may be.

Wylde looked at the signature and then shook his head a bit, "You're free to go. Good bye Ms. Voisin and little Lucille," the red haired man said happily to the two while he gave the child the hug she seemed to desire from him. He was happy that he was able to finally find the girl a home that not only he deemed appropriate but the small girl also seemed to find the woman appropriate.

Lucille giggled with glee as Wylde hugged her, returning the hug with her one free arm. "Bye bye~" Lucille chirped, letting the man go and stepping over to stand by Claudine instead. Ooh, maybe she shouldn't call her Claudine, she was her mommy now! She looked up at her Mommy with a big smile, reaching up for the woman's hand. Claudine smiled and bent down to pick Lucille up, being careful to keep her cold skin away from any of Lucille's exposed skin. Didn't want to startle the girl when she hadn't even brought her to her new home yet. "Are we going home now, Mommy?"

Claudine blinked, a bit surprised that she was being called 'Mommy' so soon. If that made Lucille happy then she could call her whatever she wanted, nodding and smiling as she adjusted her hold on the girl to make sure she was comfortable. "Yes, we are. Good bye, Mister Riddim." Lucille turned back to wave at Wylde one more time as Claudine nodded to the man and headed back in the direction she'd come from, carrying Lucille the whole way home.
