Grumbling softly, Keeya stood before the tattered remains of a sapling she had been growing little by little, watering can on its side and making loud glugging noises as she inspected the damage.
She had been growing trees, scattered throughout most of middling and uppers, visiting a third of them each day to tend and grow them to increase Edinkiras -- and thus her own -- strength, while drawing as little attention to herself as possible. However, sadly, this one had been discovered by someone, likely a passing gang, and the young tree was in such bad shape she wasn't sure if she could save it, "Ahh hell."
Pouting, the tree haired girl pushed a little bit of energy into it, trying to mend the damage, "I hope I don't have to start over on this one.."

Anything was better than being at home at the moment, Padma decided as she walked through the park. Her mother and aunts had decided that today was a perfect day for spring cleaning, and she had scampered out the moment she had a free chance. It was just too pretty of a day to be stuck inside cleaning.
As she turned a corner, she noticed a girl out of the corner of her eye. Did she have green hair? Padma moved her head to look at her. She did. That was unusual.
"That's a nice thing you're doing there," Padma called out, announcing her prescence to the other girl. Maybe she would be interested in some company.

Keeya squeaked in surprize, hand gripping the tree a little tighter and a jolt of uncontrolled energy shot into the plant, causing the tree to burst into rapid growth. She pulled away as if burned, stopping the rapid growth as the now healed, if unusually gnarled tree towered above her head.
She looked absolutely horrified as she turned around, "I can explai-" She paused, looking over Padma over, ".... Uh... Hi...?" Looking around to make sure no one else saw, she picked up her heavy bag and slung it over her shoulders before moving closer, then wincing as she stepped in the puddle of water her tipped bucket created, "you wouldn't have happened to encounter a tall man with dreadlocks telling you about a game not too long ago, would you?"

Well, if Padma had had any doubts about this girl being another player, they were all gone now. No normal person would have been able to do that.
"I didn't mean to startle you," Padma said, apologizing. It seemed to her that some of these players were rather jumpy. Was it a side effect of playing the game? She smiled reasurringly. "I may have met the man you speak of. I take it that he is a mutual acquaintance?"
There didn't seem much harm in admitting this to her, it wasn't like she was trying to hide the fact. "I'm Padma."

Keeya relaxed, laughing a bit, "Oh good, you are part of the game. I had no clue how I was going to explain.. Well.. This." She motioned to the tree, her skin darkening slightly in embarrassment, "At least to someone who's not part of it." She laughed nervously.
Holding a hand out, she grinned, "Keeya, Edinkira's human avatar apparently."

"It's a miracle of the gods of course," Padma suggested, grinning. "Absolutely true, but vague enough that it won't reveal anything."
She took the girls hand, and shook it gently. "It's nice to meet you."
That was more information than she expected to get, and she filed most it away for later. Could she trust this girl? "My goddess is Lakshmi."

Laughing, Keeya nodded in a half bow, "I'll be sure to remember that one if I ever need it again."
"Lakshmi..." Keeya's eyes darted upwards as she tried to remember the name, her hand still gently grasping Padma's hand, "Lakshmi, that sounds so familiar... Mmn... I'm guessing.. Hindu?"
Remember what a hard time she had getting started into the game, Keeya slowly slid her hand away, "So... I'm not really that well informed about the game, but is there anything you want to know more about? I didn't have anyone to help me for over a year, I'd hate for the same thing to happen to anyone else."

"Yeah, we're Hindu." Padma responded. "I don't recognize your god though. What pantheon are they?" She supposed that Lakshmi might be able to tell her, but it wasn't a guarantee, and how was she supposed to learn more about the competition if she didn't recognize their gods. "Thanks. Have you ever meet a guy named Seth, kind of apathetic looking? He's got feathers, and I think he's a godling, but I'm not sure. "
There were a few things that she wanted to ask her, since she had offered, but this had been the one that was at the top of her head. She really wanted to know if she was right about him being a godling, or if he had just been messing with her.

"mmmmno. I cant say I have met him." Keeya frowned slightly in thought, "I've met.. Uh... Fish: blond with blue scales.. Gills, has water powers. Ciro: Mean guy with lots of horns, dark skin, glowing eyes, red hair with a beard. Works with fire I think. Vale, also older, With black cat ears and tail. I think his powers have something to do with shadows.. And... I think thats it of the ones I'm sure of."
She shrugged, then grinned broadly, "Mine Is African. I think I'm the only one in the game thats of that pantheon, unless you count the Egyptians."

Padma made a note of the people Keeya mentioned. She would have to either meet them, or avoid them; she wasn't really sure which would be better.
"I haven't heard of any other Hindu gods in the game either," Padma responded. "But, I haven't been playing that long. It's possible that we just haven't met others in our respective pantheons." She grinned. "Doesn't really matter though, does it?"
She shrugged, and paused in her speech. She was rambling again. "So, do we have a meeting place or something in case of emergencies? Some sort of neutral ground?"

"The best place is in middling -- Seasons, a florist shop.." Keeya shrugged, Frowning slightly, "At least, I think it may be -- its where we all gathered over a year ago when there was an emergency meeting."
She slid her hands into her pockets, dipping her head, "Usually we find each other by simply sensing it, even when it isn't super obvious apparently. Like, I just knew where to go and who to trust at one point, being guided by my goddess."

"So kind of like a type of spidey sense," Padma mused. It was nice to know that there was at least one place that could be a neutral ground, and she suspected that there probably should be a few others, but there was no way to know. Not until something happened and they needed to go there. "I suppose that makes sense. Our gods would probably know who we can trust."
She paused. Was that true? Did they know more than what they revealed? She grinned in amusement with herself. Of course they did. Why should they reveal everything they know? They're Gods after all, and most humans can barely understand human things, much less anything more. "I suppose it's on a need to know basis though." Well, that was enough of that, and she glanced up at the tree. "So, is there a reason you're growing trees? Or is it just something you do for fun?"

(*just noticed you responded* 8'D I'm slow)
"Well.. Its not like we have to stick with it. While gods may get along better with other gods.." Keeya shrugged, eyebrows arching, "the humans are different then the gods, and are notorious for disobeying deities."
There was a pause, and Keeya glanced over at the tree behind her. At least it couldn't be so easily destroyed now, "... My goddess.. Is a tree goddess." There was so much she wanted to say: That Edinkira's strength is increased by the amount of African tree's in the world. That her goddess was on the verge of dieing.. Of slowly Fading out of existence when she created the girl to keep her alive.
But she knew that if the wrong person got that information... Maybe she was being paranoid. She had, for some reason, trusted Writ with a taste of that information, but he was a known Ally, even if it was unofficial. She didn't really know anything about this girl or even that much about her goddess, "I do it in honor of her, I suppose. And it gives me practice with my powers. This game is dangerous. People have died because of it, and as I am I can't defend myself properly."

Padma giggled. That was truth. If she had a quarter for every time someone had come to her to apologize about being disobedient to the gods, she'd be relatively rich by now. Unfortunantly, that wasn't how it worked. "And it's not like they always tell us their reasons for things, so if we feel like we can't trust someone, we're likely to not trust them. The ways of the gods are not meant to be known by mere mortals."
She nodded at Keeya response, though she did notice that she had paused briefly. It was probably nothing, more than likely it was the same reason that she had lied to Seth. You couldn't really know what the other person would do with the information. "That made sense, growing trees in honor of a tree goddess. I understand. It is important to honor the gods."
It didn't surprise her to hear that the game was dangerous, how could it not be. But if Keeya, with her power of growing trees, didn't think that she could defend herself, how was she supposed too. She didn't even have powers, did she?
She shrugged. She wasn't going to push for more information, not about that anyway, the other girl had the right to decide what she would reveal. "So," she said, slightly changing the subject. "Have you planted trees in a lot of places? Can you do different kinds? Or is it just this particular one?"

Grinning slightly, Keeya rose a single eyebrow, resting her hands on her hips as she cocked it to the side, "Well, as long as its African and a Tree I should be able to do it..." there was a pause, and she approached Padma carefully, "Do you know you're powers yet..? I had to actually ask Edinkira for an ability I can fight with.. And I just stumbled into growing tree's on my own. Perhaps I can help you figure out what your goddess may have given you. What kind of Goddess is Lakshmi?"
