He had been born in the month of April and it was that monty once again. The chill of winter had given way to something warmer in some ways and colder in others. Rain fell from the heavens, bringing with it the bright green grass of spring... Ah, Spring.
Endymion's long hair was still wet from the last rain, coat glistening as he stepped out from beneath the brush he'd taken shelter in, gazing up at the sun that had chased the clouds away. It was, rain or not, a beautiful day. April showers, after all, often brought beautiful flowers.

Lucianna enjoyed spring very much. Each day brough something new, unlike the monotony of most other seasons. One day it would be warm, another rainy, and yet another cold and wreaked with sleet. She was never one to complain about it. Indeed, she found it quite facinating.
She walked with a calm gate out of the dampened forest, and in to the low mist that had come over the open area, to greet the day. Her teal eyes took in the sight of the sky's radiant light. She seemed too caught up in that sight, at first, to hear the rusteling of the brush Endymion had stepped out of.
Lucianna, too, was wet from the rain, though she had avoided what she could within the forest depths. She shook out her short mane, and flicked her tail to rid it from what water she could. Her responce to the sound seemed much delayed, as finally she turned her gaze to it. She knew not what to expect when she turned, but whether or not another soquili was it, remained a mystery.
She did not begrudge the encounter, however, and let out a soft whinny in greeting.

The soft sound of a greeting stirred him from his thoughts, head lifting as he tried to figure out whether or not it was someone he knew... In this forest the chances were always high with various family members living nearby. It wasn't familiar though, which meant someone new.
He shied back slightly, lowering his head in a bow of sorts as he whickered a greeting of his own. "Good morning." He smiled as he lifted his head. "I see you've made it through the rain as well."

"Like wise," Lucianna replied, stepping further out of the forest and into the mist, as she put on a friendly smile of her own
The scene seemed so quiet, and yet not. There was the early morning chirping of birds, and somewhere, the croak of frogs, but at the same time, silence. Gentle, pristine, and beautiful.
The dull clump of her hooves against the ground as she neared Endymion broke the morning's silence, but only long enough to cover the distance.
"My name is Lucianna. Yours?"

"Endymion." His smile brightened slightly as he glanced up at her approach, glad that she hadn't been startled by him. It seemed as though many who he thought might weren't, but he always felt it was better to err on the side of caution, especially with eyes like his own.
"Does anyone ever call you Luci or Anna?" His brow lofted slightly with his genuinely curious question, tail flicking droplets of dew behind him as it moved. "It's a beautiful name either way... A beautiful name and a beautiful morning. It's amazing... What the rain can bring to life."

"Why, thank you. Feel free to call me which ever you prefer. Might you have a shorthand of your own name which I might call you by?"
Endymion's strange eyes seemed the least of her concern. She'd alwys been taught not to judge others upon their appearance. I t made her curious, none the less.
With his later statement, she had to agree, "The rain, though sometimes dreary, is beautiful." She searched the skies for a moment, "I wonder if there will be a rainbow,..."

"En, Dy, Mi... I suppose my name could be broken down into bits as well." He chuckled softly, amusement curving the corners of his mouth as it danced through his eyes, signs remaining on his face even after his eyes closed. "My favorite... Is light summer rain, dripping through the leaves of the forest. Those mornings after are always so vibrant, as if the rain breathes life into everything while we sleep."
He paused, pondering for a moment as eyes opened to join her in searching the skies. "Maybe... We might have a better chance of seeing it closer to the plains though. That was the direction the rain was moving, I think, heading out to sea."

"Yeah,..unless it's so hot, the rain just makes everything so miserable, and muggy,.." Lucianna could well imagine the feeling of damp summer heat making her sleepy, and her hair and furr sweaty.
She shook the thoughts, and once again gave a smile.
"Really now? You wouldn't be interested in a little race there, would you?" she lifted a brow, and tilted her head to the side.
"If we went fast enough, perhaps we could catch up with the storm~" Her voice containe a whimsical tone, which gave way to light laughter.

"That's when you go down to the sea." He nodded, his smile seeming bright. "As the night moves in the waves cool off and you can run through them until you're tired and cool again." Even if it did seem odd to suggest running to cool off... Most of the running involved splashing and general horsing around anyways.
"Most I know talk of racing with the storms, not racing after them, but..." He laughed, giving his head a light toss before glancing at the spirited mare. "... I would be most interested in racing with you, Lucianna."

Lucianna gave En a bit of a smile, "Alright then, you ready?"
Her smile was then accompanied by a friendly compeditive glimmer in her eye, as her hoof swatted at the ground, and she swished her small tail.
She loved a good challange - win or loose. Running was a common form of challanges, and she never tired of it. Sometimes, when running, she felt as if she could fly~
She'd seen, and sort of envied other soquili who could soar the skies, but...
Complain not about which you need not subject yourself, or which you cannot change.

"As I'll ever be." He nodded, meeting her gaze for the briefest of moments before taking off, laughing. "GO!" He didn't go too far too fast, wanting to make sure that she at least caught up to him since he'd taken an unfair head start. He'd wait until they were evenly matched pace for pace before giving it anything else.

"He-ey!" Lucianna said, with a small laugh as she ran after him.
Catching up, Lucianna shouted over the whistle of wind and the clump of their hooves, "Y'know, the whole point of starting like that is to maintain a lead--" and with a small burst of speed shee teasingly pulled ahead a little.
She hadn't missed how he had let her catch up - oh no. She was also pretty sure there was more speed in the stallion, so she reserved her own energy,..one could never be sure, but she'd seen time and time again a final burst just before the end...
