Most of you probably know this, but I am able to detect life energy in my field of vision, its weaker now then in the past, but I have seen creatures with dove like wings, rings with energy flowing down them, that showed up when I sing prays to my God, and pure light energy usually showing goodness. I have also seen creatures with horns, torn up bat wings, diseased skin, with pitch black energy. As well as human spirits that was neither pure white, nor pitch black energy, and nothing unique short of the clothing was of the past and could be seen through. I am not saying christian religion is the correct one and anyone that doesn't agree are stupid fools. However, for me there is enough for me to stay...confident in my beliefs, take what I said for yourself and do what you will. However, I would like to hear what everyone thinks.

My beliefs..well it's hard to say exactly what I believe but I will say what I can and hopefully no one will say I'm nuts. Here is what I think: I believe that there is a Heaven but I don't think that there is a Hell. I believe that really bad spirits go somewhere else to be honest, somewhere that they will feel more at peace, but not Heaven. I also believe that there is a God and a Goddess. I believe that those of us that have abilities are meant to have them for a reason. I know that I am a purifier and a healer, I can sense things like spirits, sometimes I see them and hear them, but not all the time. I can sometimes sense if someone is good or bad, or see their aura. I can usually tell if someone has a spiritual ability of some sort. I believe that some people hold entities within them, whether they are guardians or companions (I know I hold quit a few myself) Umm..I sometimes can see future events or know that something is going to happen before it does. I can't think of much else that I can say here, but if people are curious I will talk to people in pms since some stuff that I have been told by other spiritual people is pretty intense.

*nods*it holds water, I might disagree because of my christian upbringing...but the only way to learn who is right is to hear it from God itself(since no one is truely sure if God should be called "him" or "her")

true, but what if you hear things from other spiritual sources? Like people that are actually up in the Heavens?

I believe in an unseen force that we can't understand or manipulate in any way. Like Angelofthemoonrabit, I don't really believe the whole "fire-and-brimstone" hell that I've been hearing about all my life. Honestly I feel that spirits that "go to hell" are actually reincarnated to achieve a better life and a better...spiritual status (I can't think of the right word, but status is the closest thing I can think of). I also believe that we are given a choice whether we want to reincarnate or stay on earth, or go to the other side when our bodies die.

I have huge issues with organized religion (primarily Christianity, and Islaam is getting that way too) because it causes so many problems in the world. Primarily war. But my biggest thing with religion is hypocracy.

...Yeah I'm gonna stop before I offend someone. Sorry...I never mean to offend by ANYTHING I say, EVER. If you feel I'm being offensive then know I don't mean it like that, I'm just voicing an opinion... sweatdrop

I believe in heaven and hell. Maybe not in the traditional sense that's given in stereotypes, but I believe they do exist. I was raised Catholic, and I've certainly had experiences enough to keep me in that Christian religion. The Catholic sect is also, so far as I know, the only Christian one that gives exorcisms.

I honestly find it more sad than anger-creating when people blame organized religion as a cause for things like war. People like to justify poor behavior, and I think they'd find ways to do so even if religion was completely eliminated from the equation.

The belief in spirits, good and bad, is an inherent part of Catholicism. The Holy Spirit is the most obvious example - the portion of the Holy Trinity that's both our direct connection between our own spirits and God and a being that's served as a messenger multiple times.

I've found that a lot of people take one portion of the Bible where Saul seeks a medium to ask advice of Samuel's ghost and translate it that all "ghost" beings are evil and attempting to trick people. In that part, Samuel's ghost essentially tells him that, by seeking advice in the dead, instead of in God, he's doomed himself and his whole family. It seems that people run with that to indicate that the ghost wasn't really Samuel, and that all things claiming to be passed-on spirits are evil, etc. In reality, I think the main point of that portion is simply to say to put trust in God first, rather than putting complete faith in something else instead. Saul sought the advice of a passed-away leader instead of following his faith. Nothing that I can find in there says that the ghost wasn't Samuel. Nothing that I can find in there said that ghosts don't exist. Nothing in there that I can find says that all ghosts are evil.

I myself am in the sect of a presbiterian because I can just sense the holy spirit is in a certain church after visiting it once or twice, but I agree, not all spirits are evil, just as not all people are evil, infact if you ask me, most are trying to get attention to tell someone something or waiting for something to happen, fewer are protective, and a very small percentage ghosts are hostile but they get all the press about it

I'm technically agnostic, but I do think there's something greater than us. I'm just not sure on the details.

As for visions... I'm inclined to believe that people only see what they're supposed to see. What may show up as an angel for some may show up as, say... Shiva, for another. Similarly with "Heaven" or "Hell," and other such things. It seems to depend heavily on the person involved, and either their conscious or subconscious expectations.

I'm not saying it's not real, but that it's often tailored to individual tastes. After all, if I was God and someone expected me to be an old man, I wouldn't show up as a little girl.

(But there I go, trying to personalize an all-powerful deity.)

In my personal opinion, I believe that you do not have to be religious to be spiritual.

I do believe in a higher power, call it God, call it Allah, call it the Force, call it what you will.
As far as an afterlife, i figure that's a great adventure that we all take someday. It's possible it's different for everyone. I personally think that like life, it's what you make of it.

I would consider myself Aethiest but, I aknowledge the existence fo the Christianity god but I don't believe and for three years I lived with Burmese people so their beliefs in Buddha rubbed off on me. I don't personally pray to him or turn to him when in need.

But some organized religious extremists from religions like Christianity, Catholics, ect ect, are way to overrated. After all, in the bible it says that Jesus was born in Jerusalem so he was most likely Jewish. Christian extremists would say that he was not Jewish. So to me religion is kinda overrated.

Religion has nothing to with if you can see or hear spirits, or if you have to or can't believe in them. I can see and hear them and I don't have a religion. My friend can see them and talk to them and she is almost a devote Christian. So religion has nothing to do with it.

Agreed.

I'm personally agnostic because I've never experienced anything that proves to me that a god, gods, or something else along those lines exsists. But I also cannot deny the possibility of such a being exsisting.

While my religious beliefs are mostly Christian, the one thing that I believe perhaps more then any other is that we are all born with a purpose. I also believe that we are all born with the power to achieve said purpose, but such ability is out of our reach until such power is needed. Like when someone falls into a body of water and is fished out three days later, alive. The God given power he was born with "protected" him, for he had not fulfilled his purpose yet. And besides, if we are all made in God's own image, what's not to say that he imparted a bit of His power in all of us? If there is an all-seeing, omnipotent God, then he also arranges all things like deaths and injuries according to his timetable. I do not yet know what my purpose on this world is, but when that purpose is revealed to me, I shall complete my task and die in peace.
