((OOC note: This quest is free for anybody to jump in and RP, if you want, or if you have any cool ideas. smile Otherwise, I'll just be posting myself. ^___^
Solaris is really cowed by almost everybody, so he's easily talked into doing things that others want. <3 So if your character wants the talents of a rogue seer to themself, feel free to try to scare him into obeying them?))
It was a dark and stormy night...
Or not, not particularly at any rate. It was dark (that tends to define 'night' in most places), and it was drizzling, but this wasn't any downpour...in fact, it hardly penetrated through to the wolf that trots across the lands, on the lookout for a meal. His thick fur protects him from the worst of the wet, despite the fact that there's little else to shelter him from it.
The myth that wolves can see in the dark is just that - a myth. Fortunately, the sliver of a moon offers Solaris just what he needs to see, and he also has other senses at his disposal.
He can't scent any new trails...apparantly, nobody's been here in quite some time, and that includes preybeasts. For awhile, he hits upon an old deer track, but once it becomes clear that nothing's been using it for days, he wanders off it again, disappointed.
To halt, amidst an outcropping of rugged rocks and dying trees. His muscles tense up immediately.
Someone is whispering behind him.
He swiftly turns. He thought he heard something. The omega cringes, shaking, his heart thudding in what sounds, to him, like a shout. He's too terrified to whimper, however - what if it heard him? Or worse, saw him? The lanky male freezes, unsure of what to do.

Remove The young femme had been following the omega, she had seen him in the packlands and had wanted to know what was so "special" about him. She wasn't liked by anyone but they all picked on him and another but not her, from the way she had recently reacted with Reicher, the chances are she would not survive in this pack and be kicked out or worse, killed. She had no care for that though, not while she followed this strange wolf. Her paws were hitting the ground softly however the softening mud beneath her paws was becoming a threat to her secrecy. She said no words but question after question plauged her mind as she followed, her dark red pelt keeping her like a shadow in the dark. She had also been lucky to find that she was upwind, he wouldn't smell her from here, that for her was somewhat lucky. Her mean eveil grin spread over her face as she lowered to the ground, he turned. Her heart beat kept steady and she didn't blink once, her ears flat on her back. He couldn't have heard her she made no sound, its impossible to hear thoughts, maybe it was a squirrel or something, it could have been anything, it wasn't her. She couldn't be seen, not yet anyway. dustfeather The whispering stopped. That, if anything frightened Solaris worse than ever, for it assured him that he had not been hearing things. Perhaps it was only the wind... Except there was no wind. A bird suddenly flapped into existance, cawing harshly and taking up a position atop a dead tree directly overhead. Solaris's eyes follow the creature: drab gray, with lighter undercolors that are oddly muted in the faint light that creeps from behind clouds - the moon. Oh. Only a crow, then. It looks down on Solaris with one black, beady eye, and caws again. Relaxing, the omega shakes himself, more to brush off nerves than anything. Nobody else must be around. He's just being jumpy. "Lost something, have you, sonny?" The wolf near about jumps out of his fur: he whirls around, wild-eyed, to spot nothing. But the voice seemed to be coming at him from above...he looked up again. The crow surveyed him with one ironic, wicked eye. No. Surely not. Everybody knew birds couldn't talk. Remove What was she suppose to think? This was strange, really strange. She creeped forward a little more before stopping, her ears perked up a little so she could hear what was going on, a crow making a racket and a wolf looking stupid, this was too weird. She however stayed still once more. Her head lay on the gournd and only raised if she couldn't see what was going on. His name was Solaris wasn't it? Something like that anyway, she didn't care much about it. He was weird though, maybe that is why everyone picks on him, because he listens to crows making an awful racket! dustfeather He's oblivious to the proximity of one of his own kind: Solaris is simply watching the crow. It's a cocky thing, with the arrogant surity of itself as a winged beast. It hops along the branch, still studying the omega down below. It opens it's beak to caw again - and words spill out. "What's the matter, wolf? Never seen a crow before? Good grief, you're a slow one, aren't you?" Solaris's brain struggles to kick in and make sense of this. He glances around, fearfully - there must be a wolf in the bushes somewhere. Birds couldn't talk. He cringes back again, but he's in a quandry: he doesn't know which direction the wolf is in. Remove She was just getting confused now, maybe he could hear her breathing or something. She stood up and walked closer to him, her mean smirk not on her face, instead printed a confused look. "Hey you!" She trotted upto him, still looking seriously confused. "You must have amazing hearing if you could hear me breathing. I am Shock, also in Reichers pack thing. I seen you around so kinda followed you but what are you looking for?" She was confused, truthfully, she just thought he was insane! Reivan Isaac had been skulking about not far from his packlands for a while. The Seer had been going through a difficult and wholey unwelcomed phase. It must have had something to do with his frustration over a certain brainless son of his, as well as his mate's lack of energy when i came to anything other than allowing their spawn to feed from her. The male had been finding it increasingly impossible to be around his other packmates without suffering under the temptation to do or say less than friendly things to them. Isaac never was particularly sociable. Of course, he still kept his demeanor, no matter how twisted up his stomach became. But he needed some kind of outlet. In this light, the male's coat appeared an emotionless shade of black. Only when he passed from under the shade of the trees did the moon allow slivers of its rich blue tint to shimmer in the night. As the male paced the woods, the presence of two other wolves made themselves known to him. The mind of a young, female pup opened to him like a book, and he began reading passively. As he moved closer, the thoughts of a cowed Omega begged to be heard, and the Seer felt it would only be polite to oblige. Neither of the two lives interested him particularly, but something, which it seemed the female was also keen to know about, Was different yet completely familiar about the Omega. He.. Isaac couldn't help muttering quietly to himself, He's a.. He's going to be.. Oh bloody hell, another Seer. dustfeather The cloud-patterned omega starts again as something arises out of the gloom, and he shrinks back again, seemingly to present as small a target as possible. But what comes is not particularly threatening: not even particularly large. It's a puppy, and one he's never seen before, nor smelled. As she speaks, in a quite different voice than the one he just heard, he relaxes ever so slightly, but still remains a higher level of unease than is normal, even for him. The voices are so different...she must be a good mimic, to make it sound that she was the bird. However did she manage to throw her voice like that? What kind of wolves were Reicher keeping in his pack? Amazing hearing? Confusion dominates this conversation. "I'm sorry, miss. Nothing. I thought I heard - " He clamps his muzzle shut, ears snicking against the back of his neck. Perhaps she's just waiting for him to admit he thought he heard a bird speak, just to get him into trouble. More whispers sound nearby, teasing on the edge of Solaris's mind. He swings around, wild-eyed. "Did you hear that?" He asks, whispered voice full of apprehension and fear. Remove She looked slightly confused still but was taking a liking to this wolf, he maybe a lttle strange but he was nice unlike the other wolves she had met. She did however listen carefully but heard nothing, "no, sorry, what did you hear? Please tell me, I may be bale to help!" She smiled, strange little pup she was, she rarely liked anyone or was nice but she felt a little like this omega at the moment, hated and stuff so she though making a friend, if he wanted to be wouldn't be a bad idea. Reivan For a while, Isaac stood in the dark, simply frowning in the other wolves' direction. One moment he had an urge to take care of the potential Seer before he grew into his talents and became a problem. Like Lewain and.. Lera. The next, he was off on a tangent about how the Omega could be useful against a certain sworn enemy. This self conflict turned into a decision on which would be most fun, before deciding that blood on his paws so close to home probably wouldn't result in a happy mate. Or packmates. Or.. large, muscular Alpha. Isaac cleared his throat before melting from the bushes, into the presence of the two wolves he'd tagged. Namely, behind the Omega, and with a large grin on his maw. dustfeather The whispers subside... Solaris looks warily at the pup, biting back the swift retort that comes to mind. "Nothing, miss." After all, it was probably nothin, and if it wasn't...well, he'd rather just ignore it. He's certainly not going to try to explain it to a little puppy, who might or might not be a spy. He doesn't trust Reicher, and he certainly doesn't trust any of his packmates...if she even is a true packmate. The bird gives one loud caw overhead, before flapping off. The older wolf's gaze follows it for a few brief seconds, before he looks away nervously. And nearly jumps out of his skin again. Skittishly, he swerves around, hackles raised, his tail low between his legs in coward submission. It's a much bigger wolf than the little puppy that stands nearby, looking pleased with itself. He's never seen this one before, either. He doesn't meet the other's gaze, merely shrinks back and looks at Isaac's paws. Remove Shock was somewhat annoyed with not being told but shrugged it off when she heard the other, she shot round snarling a little, the small fighter that she was. She looked up at Issac and well, she thought not much of him, just another male wolf, probably not like Reicher. She was then just snarling at the thoughts of Reicher in her head. Reivan Isaac tilted his head quizically at the Omega's submissive pose and allowed a light smirk to play on his features. "Nothing?" a voice questioned briefly in Solaris's head before Isaac introduced himself. "Pleasure to meet you too. My name is Malakai." As he spoke the same false name he had also given Reicher, he bent slightly so that he could stare directly into Solaris's eyes. A gaze which was unthreatening, yet soulful in a slightly unsettling way, his eyes gently searching the other wolf's thoughts and memories. He then eyed the pup rather differently, his brow lowering with a hint of a distasteful scowl, which was quickly blinked away. "I gather you're both with Reicher's 'pack'?" the male lifted his gaze again and asked simply, aware that he probably would have just learned too much for Reicher's liking, had the Alpha himself not already told the Seer about the forming of his cult. dustfeather It's almost unnoticable, but Solaris's limbs turn slightly rigid. He's quite aware, despite that his gaze are fastened firmly on Isaac's feet, that the other wolf did not say the first word aloud. Whatever's going on, he's certain he doesn't want a part in it. This wolf has powers...and is a definate threat. Best not piss him off, or better yet, not to give him any reason to remember Solaris at all. He nervously tries to look away as the dark wolf lowers down to his level, but he's drawn into that odd gaze, and merely trembles, like a rabbit caught out in the open by a cat about to pounce. His life flashes before him: his siblings, each colored for a different time of the day; his parents, their shame and uncertainty at having four potentially cursed puppies; his eventual disappearance from the pack and the lonely months on his own; and finally his meeting with Reicher that left him timid and jumpy around his own kind. He blinks, shaking his head. But 'Malakai' has asked a question, and automatic responses kick in, despite the shocked state of his brain. "Yes, sir. This is Shock, and I'm Solaris. Sir." Reivan "Shock." Isaac repeated, his voice slow and rather sinister as he moved to peer over the youngster. He was silent for a second before two words slipped from his lips. "Run away." And as if a switch was flicked behind his eyes, Isaac's expression suddenly turned.. disturbingly jolly. His tone was as if he'd just uttered the words 'I got a pony for Christmas!' Then as suddenly as it came, the expression disapparated. His brow lowered again, and all traces of a grin were lost from his face. ((Can we God Mode and say she scrams plz? Because IC, i really don't think she'd sit there silently while Isaac does his creepy thang, so it'll get awkward. D: )) Isaac turned back to the remaining wolf and spoke lightly with a smile. "Stay." His head tilted to one side once more. "You will soon learn things you cannot escape or ignore, Solaris." the Seer said smoothely, circling the other male. Without warning, a whisper sounds plainly in the Omega's mind as if it is spoken only a fraction from his ear. "I grant you three wishes. What will they be?" His question would almost be comical, especially as the Seer still held his odd smile, if the situation hadn't been so uncertain. dustfeather He flinches. It would've been better of the darker wolf had growled and snarled, or even shown any kind of violence. 'Malakai's' calm nature is reflected in its' opposite upon the young omega. He would've known how to deal with the other type: grovel, act like you really mean it, and show fear...none of which Solaris has any trouble of doing. This weighty calm unnerves him, and his eyes dart to and fro nervously as Isaac circles him. Escape or ignore? Learn things? He's not sure he wants to learn things. He's survived so far by remaining fairly ignorant. Stupidity, which does not gain him any particular social points, leads most to believe he's completely harmless. They usually leave him alone. This wolf can read minds...or something of the sort. He's heard of them, only he never...more than half believed the tales. He's never actually met one before. He squeezes his eyes shut. I just want to protect myself. Reivan Isaac's maw hung open slightly, his tongue playing along his canines as Solaris's thoughts drifted through his mind. "What a selfless fellow you are." He purred sarcastically in responce to the cowering wolf's answer. A grin slid onto Isaac's face as his brow quirked slightly. The male thought silently for a moment, looking past Solaris. "Would you like me to make that wish come true then?" he spoke in a quiet, almost sing-song manner. "I can give you a sliver of my power for you to nurture. It doesn't make things easy, of course. But you know, you hold a wise position as it is, my friend. No one expects an Omega to have any kind of talent." dustfeather "Really?" For the first time, there's something eager in the male's voice and eyes that appears to have destroyed some of his former seemingly endless supply of cautino. The next statement of flattery seems to fly right by him: he's still grasping onto the first astoundingly generous offer. Solaris eats up the lies without a problem, eyes moving slightly upwards, closer to Isaac's face, but still not meeting his own gaze. To have some power...even a little bit..."How would I work it?" Reivan Isaac showed his teeth in a grin. "It'll come to you, don't worry. Eventually you will master it, and it'll become more than just a sliver. It won't be easy, as i said. But i believe you have what it takes." He continued to purr encouragement. "Of course, there will be consequences if you let the power go to your head." Isaac calmly placed a paw on the Omega's forehead as he spoke more darkly now. "I can take it away from you at any point. And if you begin to believe that you can turn on Me.. Well, trust me when i say you'd rather claw your own eyes out and eat them than even think it." He let that sink in for a moment before flashing a grin once more. "Let's do this, shall we? Right. Firstly, come closer." The Seer then dipped his own head to face the ground and let his eyelids drop. He stayed silent like this for a few seconds, breathing heavily, readying himself for the show. Then, a low growl began to sound from within his throat, gradually becoming louder until eventually the male lifted his head rather dramatically and stared directly at the other wolf. "Look me in the eye." he demanded fiercely. dustfeather The thought of betraying Isaac never occured to Solaris - well, it wouldn't occur to him, anyway, unless he met someone more powerful than the Seer that threatened him. For Solaris, it's about self-preservation, not likes and dislikes. Isaac has him, hook, line, and sinker...and it's unlikely that, in the dazed state the day-colored wolf is in, that he realizes the claws of the other closing around him. "Reicher won't mind this, will he?" Some intelligence finally manages to peep through, clamoring to be heard. After all, Reicher's the leader of an important pack, and Solaris rather likes his head where it is. If the big wolf decided that Solaris with a sliver of Malakai's powers, things could go very badly for the omega. But he moves foward nevertheless, almost not of his own willpower. Trembling, his gaze flicks here and there nervously, tongue flicking out to moisten dry lips, and slowly moves up his eyes to lock gazes with the darker wolf. It's hard, and he almost breaks down right there. He hasn't looked another wolf in the eye since he was a puppy. The whispers are louder. Reivan "No. Probably not." Isaac stated bluntly. "I was about to say, for your own safety, i'd keep all this under your hat if i were you." he nodded briefly. The Seer's eyes didn't flicker as the Omega met them, glaring unrelentlessly into the other's. When he was finally satisfied that the terrified being had held it long enough, Isaac growled him an order. "Now Hit me." He snarled into Solaris's face. "I want blood." dustfeather There's apprehension in the omega's eyes, and confusion, but he dares not defy the Seer as well. The second statement is almost too much to ask. Hit him? Is this a test? Is he really supposed to? But there's an odd, uncompromising feeling in the back of his mind that suggests that he should be hitting the dark wolf. He raises his paw, then drops it. Again, up and down it goes, as he considers it and then fear drives him back. Finally, he manages to 'hit' the other...but he barely grazes the other male's cheek with his claws. He immediately cringes back, flattening towards the ground. Reivan Isaac's head hardly moved with the action, but then he really wasn't expecting much. In fact he was counting on the fact that Solaris was an even bigger wimp than he himself was, because he wouldn't have taken even a half-way decent blow. The Seer raised a brow at his efforts all the same, but stayed silent in order not to break the 'mood' of the 'ritual' or whatever this was supposed to be. It was Isaac's turn though, and he grasped the opportunity to release some real emotion. Despite the Omega's cowering stance, the male raised his paw swiftly, and unblinkingly brought it down with a good amount of weight behind it, aiming to smack his clawed paw across the side of Solaris's head. A growl tore from his maw as he did so. After this, the Seer released a long, calming breath and dropped his lids once more. He blinked them open to eye the ground, and reguardless of what condition the Omega was now in, he spoke softly once more "It is done." And without another word or glance back Isaac, or 'Malakai', drifted towards the trees and melted mysteriously back into the shadows once more, only to begin sniggering to himself once he was well out of earshot.

Lethrossen Kamali yawned as he stretched, moving away from the icey-cold river. Hunger had gotten to him today, so he'd 'gone fishing'. Fishing was one of his more favored ways of hunting, certainly there was less blood. But he was done with that and just moving quickly through the woods, today he would walk far. That was what he decided. So far he'd gone not too far from his beloved feild, which was rather close to the den Noke had picked out. Everything had worked out nicely, really. But now he was moving north-east, in hopes he could run into some company. Kamali loved meeting others, loved conversations and even loved departing with a sense of.. well, Kam wasn't sure what sense he got when meeting a new friend. But he got it, and that was what counted. His tail was wagging back and forth, ears perked atop his head in an alert manner, his general stance was friendly and happy. dustfeather After Isaac had 'given' him powers, Solaris managed to sneak away from the packlands for awhile. He's not sure why he's doing it, precisely...if caught, he faces death, or worse...but his feet carry his protesting brain into the freelands, and the omega to the Tyranny pack quietly lumbers through the undergrowth, trying to ignore the chorus of voices that flitter through his head. He can hear all the birds now, he's sure of it. But it flitters in and out, like a badly tuned stereo set. Isaac clearly neglected to tell him exactly how to utilize these new powers, but Solaris is too frightened of the Seer to go back and ask him about it. Instead he wanders, starting over and over again until he's exhausted, and curls up at the base of a tree inbetween massive roots, and sleeps. He wakes with the scent of another wolf in his nostrils, and tenses in fright. Not Reicher, nor any of the scents from the pack...he'd know them. But a wolf nevertheless. He crawls, stiff, out of the makeshift shelter, looking wild-eyed around. Someone's coming. A whine escapes him. Lethrossen Kamali could catch hints of the scent of the other, but he only payed it little mind. He was headed in that direction, each few steps he was sure he was getting closer to another, and unlike Solaris he was quite pleased. He slowed after a bit, and then gave a few woof's into the air, golden eyes flicking around, trying to see where the other wolf might be. "Hello?" Kam cooed out, his voice soft and friendly. dustfeather With the shifting wind, it's as Solaris fears: the other already knows he's here, so any chance of slipping quietly away is completely lost. Instead, cringing, he moves forward again, belly scraping along the ground, his tail tucked firmly between his legs. In a moment, the omega is cringing and offering a babbling apology to the green-pelted wolf. Instead of a simple coordinated sentence, the words all seem to run together. "Please-don't-hurt-me-I-didn't-mean-to-be-on-your-land-I'm-so-sorry-please-don't-hurt-me..." Lethrossen Kamali blinked as his golden eyes fell on the omega. Oh dear, he didn't like these types of wolves. Well, not 'didn't like' but they made him very uncomfortable. He backed up quickly his own tail pressing against his legs, but not tucking in. "S-stop that, these aren't my lands!" He said, in a rush but his words did not tumble together like the other's. "I'm not going to hurt you, either!" He added, cringing. dustfeather The torrent seems to keep going for a full minute before the omega's brain seems to kick in: a slow process, to be sure. His eyes, which are studying the ground in front of Kamali's paws, flick upwards for the briefest of moments, then dart back down again. "They...aren't?" He questions, uncertainly. The words are laced thickly in suspicion. It could be a trick, to throw him off his guard and humiliate him. "You...aren't?" Even more suspicion. Lethrossen Kamali slowly sat, still watching the omega, a frown on his maw. "No, the lands I live on are southwest from here. And I have no want or need to hurt you, I assure you." His right ear flicked and he let the frown slide off of his face. At least this would be an interesting meeting, right? "My name is Kamali." dustfeather The frown is noted and filed away for later, but the omega still seems ill content, and he licks his lips nervously, eyes darting here and there, refusing to make eye contact with the other. "Ah - pleased to meet you, my lord Kamali. My name is Solaris." He's learned that steeping things in flattery tends to keep your hide on better, and since this newcomer is an unknown entity, he'd rather err on the side of too much flattery than not enough. Lethrossen Kamali almost snarled at the other. What the hell, lord? But instead his ears just went flat. "Don't call me that." And after a moment came a belated "Please." Kamali shook his head lightly, glancing around slowly. "Solaris... yes, it's nice to meet you." Well. More like unnerving to meet him, yes? "Are you on your way somewhere?" Kamali just realized now the scents of others faintly mixed with the other wolf's scent, from a pack perhaps? dustfeather Even Kamali's ears going flat cause Solaris to cringe, sinking down a little more. "N-no. I was just..." Well, what was he doing? Something tells him that 'trying to make the voices in my head go away' would not really be an appropriate response. Neither would 'dodging my packmates.' So he lies, instead. "Out h-hunting." He doesn't have the nerve to ask Kamali what he's doing here. Lethrossen Kamali looked around slowly, hunting? To each his own he supposed. He wouldn't see why anyone would waste such a beautiful day by hunting. "Ah I see, catch a glimps of anything good?" Then a thought struck him. What if Solaris was on the trail and kamali was keeping him from it? That would be terrible. I think what he should be wondering, though, was if Omegas were even allowed to hunt. "I was just fishing, myself." dustfeather "Some roe deer," responds Solaris automatically. Lying has become second nature to him, and it's a skill he's oddly proud of. "Slightly north of here." Kamali's mannerisms make him think that this, at least, is probably no alpha...and his friendly nature could potentially be taken advantage of. Still looking like a miserable bundle of fur, he licks his lips again, summoning up the courage to ask a question. "Please forgive me for my abruptness, my lo - Kamali...but...do you know the wolf Malakai?"

Solaris was running.
He had lost Kamali in the sudden flury of emotion and...things in his brain. Things that, he knew instinctively, should not have been there. First the crow...then the wolf...Malakai, what did you do to me? he cried out inwardly, stumbling blindly against a tree. Thoughts flicker across his mind in quick succession, except they're not his - a mouse scampering in the underbrush, a deer lying still in a copse not ten yards off, and, perhaps most terrifying at all, for a split second he's an owl passing overhead, stretching his wings and floating, floating...
The problem with that sort of thing, however, is that he cannot truly fly, and when he comes back to himself, he finds the snow has come up underneath him. Solaris slams into the powdery whiteness. A few drops of blood quietly sprinkle on the snow. There's silence, except for the harsh wind that blows across his cloudy fur.
The once-omega doesn't open his eyes. His breathing, shallow to begin with, almost stops as he roves outward with his mind, not his body. His rugged form has a death-like stillness to it, and anyone watching could well assume that he had broken his neck with the fall, even though it was only a handful of feet down from the ridge above.
Seeking, seeking, seeking. Minds jumbled up, tangled...so confusing...all over...gone...no here, there....mine... It's his right. Didn't Malakai say as much? His right to defend himself. The gift of Malakai...that's the only one he should have to fear anymore. And he cannot learn from him, so he must learn on his own. A sort of savage triumph fills him and threatens to overwhelm him. He stretches his mind out further...
And takes hold of a small wolverine on the edge of a river. He grapples with the mind momentarily, but it's a weak, old creature, and puts up little fight. With no subtlety at all, the omega mentally shoves the wolverine's mind back, and takes contol of the body. It's wonderful, at first, the feel of this new shape, running and slipping through shadows, his claws ticking quietly on rock as he heads up the bank.
But a few hours later, already tiring of the creature, he feels himself slipping away. It was a gradual thing at first, and he barely noticed it until he tried to recollect something...
Who am I?
Wolverine.
No.
No?
Wolv-wolf...wolverine...
No...
Solaris...
SolariswolverineSolariswolfwolverine-
SOLARIS.
He wrenches his mind away, and hears a mental 'gasp'; his own. A moment later, he realizes that he's done the same thing aloud, and that he's come back to his own body, which is now shivering convulsively. He licks his lips, and tastes blood. He must have bit his tongue. Slowly, painfully, he gets up again. Snow falls all about him as he limps off, pausing for a moment at the edge of the stream again.
He casts about for the wolverine mind. But there's no trace of it.
Quivering, and wondering, he slinks off through the snow, headed away from the packlands.
