How many people in here actually listen to "gothic rock"?

I'm not trying to be rude... but it seems to me that most people in here really don't follow the music.

Just wanted to know who did smile

I've honestly never listened to goth rock. Or maybe I have but didn't know it. Can you name me a few bands?

I don't listen to it exclusively, but it does make up part of my weekly listening. Occasionally daily.

When I started being interested in gothic in spring 2006 I bumped into some false information [which is much easier to find than correct information] where the musical part was totally neglected and about how it was all about a "dark" mindset etc. And I believed it for some time until I discovered the truth. Now I think that all the abstract talk about being different and dark, with no concrete information what it means, comes from kids who would like to be special and being goth seems "cool" to them but are lazy to actually research the music and so they hide their ingorance behind pretentious babbling.

I listen to different styles of music, but from goth rock I like a lot Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, Mephisto Waltz, Bauhaus, X-mal Deutschland, Skeletal Family if it counts too.
Generally I listen more to darkwave though [which belongs under goth music too imo.]
