Breaking news
"Good day viewers, and welcome to Channel T89. Today we have the Tyrgani Alliance's representative of the Military Division for an exclusive interview on our show! Here he is now! Let's give him a warm welcome, everyone!"

The studio claps for me. This is not unexpected, but it is meaningless. They don't know me, they don't know why I'm here, they're not going to understand a word I say....

"Now, Mr. Arkady, the last time you were on our show, you made a vague allusion to a new weapon under joint Tyrgani development." Of course. We can't tell you about the Illuminati involvement. They won't have any of that. And of course, you won't say a word about the Ghosters. "Tell us here at T89, has it gone into use yet?"

No. "Absolutely. We're incredibly proud of the effectiveness of our new White Wolf 8 Torpedoes." Those have been in use for months now. Old news. "They were crucial to our seizing of the Australian Crescent Leyline. Now, with the Australian Crescent under control, we can produce our Thaumatanks and small cruisers, like the Perun class light strike flyer, out on the front lines. This frees up more of our Russian and Arctic leyfactories for production at home." And for Project Apocalypse.

"I see. And do you think we can maintain control of the Australian Crescent?"

Not a damned chance. "Of course. The Confederation is not nearly as strong in the Spheres as it is in Crossover." We couldn't touch them in Crossover. "They've spread themselves too thin - for instance, their pushes to the Seine-Alps Leyline and the Himalayan Leyline. They can't possibly hold those for long." And when those forces are free, where would they go but the Aussie Crescent?

Ring. Ring. Right on time. Click.

"Hello? Yes? Oh. Well now. I'll be there in a moment. Well, I'm afraid this interview must conclude. State business."

"Of course, Mr. Arkady. Everyone, let's say goodbye to Mr. Arkady!"

More mindless cheering. Good thing I had that fake phone call set up.

"Citizens of the Coalition, His Eminence Duke Yang has an announcement for you," the synthesized, tinny voice announced from the zeppelin as it cruised low over the Necropolis slums. Of course it would be too much to ask for the Necropolis slums to see surplus food or luxury goods from a Leyfactory.

"Vampires, werebeasts, humans, assorted corpses, undead, and demons, the August Day of Reckoning has been altered. It has been moved from the traditional fifteenth day to the thirteenth to permit an empirewide day of celebration on the fifteenth for the launching of the Dominator, the first of a new type of airship!" A hoarse, unenthusiastic cheer went through the slums. "That means those of you looking to move up in the world by challenging your masters had best get to training and choosing the challenge soon. Again, the Challenge Registration Office is...."

"So what is it, precisely?" Magus-General Joe Simpson asked, looking at the diagram. He traced the outline of the enormous mana battery embedded in the torso of his semi-decorative armor as he stared at the schematic.

"A sort of teleportation beacon, we think," Director of Ops Paul McCulloch replied. He squinted his right eye, then rubbed the long, thin scar that ran from his forehead, across the eye, along the cheek, and down to his jaw.

"Eye bothering you?" Linda asked, fiddling with a hand mirror and a fine black powder she was applying to it.

"Nah, just the REF scar. The eye is fine," Paul replied. "You got the scry ready?"

"Almost... and... done." She held her hand over the mirror and the black dust began to glow. A ripple ran across the mirror's surface and the Dominator came into view. It was an enormous metallic ring that appeared to act as a scaffold for a sphere of black-and-purple Shadow energy, a whirling eddy of power floating in the air. "And if we can move to the other... oh s**t." Linda turned pale. Paul and Joe crowded closer around the mirror.

The gunship part of the Dominator was cylindrical and bristled with missile launcher, guns, and thaumacannons.

"Damn," Paul grunted. "Anyway, how's that Angelcorvette request? Did it go through?"

"Yup," Joe replied. "We are now in possession of the Angelcorvette The Triumphant, a great instrument of JUSTICE!!" Joe proceeded to channel a great deal of fire around himself, standing and knocking his chair over.

"... Right. Right, that's good," Paul replied, rolling his eyes.

"How's the Ley Runner coming, Helicosto?"

"Almost done, Cap'n," Dremmeur Sai replied on behalf of the Ley Runner's Head Engineer, allowing the demonic genius to finish his checkup.

"Good. Good. Well, I'm going to go talk to my crew. We have a Leyline to recapture soon, eh, Sai?"

"Aye, Cap'n." Dremmeur Sai pulled an unlit cigarette from his mouth and puffed out a smoke cloud.

"Drakken boy, outside if you're going to do that," Helicosto grunted. Dremmeur Sai dodged a thrown wrench.

"Sorry, mate. I'm out."

The prototype of the Apocalypse-class Tyrgani cruiser attacked the Triumph after going rogue. The Coven counterattack resulted in the freeing of Dremmeur Sai, who had been imprisoned on the ship.

Discovering that a Masker and Madison Grey were commanding the ship - likely without the knowledge of the Tyrgani on-board - the Coven forces withdrew and fled, using a blind spot created by one of the ship's weapons having been disabled.

The Coven, naturally, denied that the incident happened, officially, because the Triumph doesn't officially exist.
