Dole padded around the outskirts of Fu's pride, on hunting duty. He tried to help when he could, and now with the birth of her cubs, there were even more mouths to feed. So he had volunteered, hoping to catch something big. And, being one of the few males in the pride, he was strong enough to drag something back 'home' to help out.

But he hadn't found anything very big at all. Just a few rabbits that he didn't waste his time on. They were too small, too fast...he wanted something better. His paws lightly danced on the jungle ground as he hunted and prowled around. The wind was dead today. His nose couldn't catch the scent of anything edible.

Lulua'line was still slightly a cub at heart. Young, yet almost an adult, she found herself playing with a stick that lay helplessly on the ground when she found it. Now she was tossing it in the air with her teeth, and trying to catch it with her paws. Small bursts of giggles came from her every time she'd miss it and let it hit the ground before she'd pounce on it and toss it up in the air again. Life had been hard since she left her mother and family. Small adventure before meeting back up with her sister.

Any play time was good for her, she needed to smile and laugh when the day was good and young. The sun out, making the day even more beautiful then ever. Her belly rumbled from being hungry, but she ignored it. It wasn't like she couldn't find a rabbit later tonight, but for now, she needed to relax. To remember what it was like to still be a tiny cub. Then, she was careless, no worries about hunting her own stuff, no worries about creatures that could attack her while she slept, or while she try to relax. The life on her own, wasn't something she was enjoying.

He heard giggles nearby; blue ears perked up and swiveled towards the sound. Intrigued, his legs followed his ears and Dole trotted over towards the sound. Between the trees and behind a small bush, the leopard spotted a young leopardess playing with a stick, and letting out the mysterious giggles when she missed catching it from the air before throwing it back up again.

He couldn't help but smile at her innocence and playfulness. His paw stepped forward to introduce himself, but instead, stepped on a twig much like the one she was playing with and snapped with a loud crack. He winced. There went his polite, formal introduction...

Lulua'line couldn't remember the last time she had so much fun since she left her family. Though, that thought left her mind when she heard a snap. She had tossed the stick up in the air right before, though forgetting about the stick she turned her head to look at what might be around. Ears flicked back, eyes searching, then..... Thump! The stick landed on her head. "Ouch" She said as she sat down and rubbed her head, the stick innocently laying on the ground next to her.

She glared at it before looking up, this time seeing a darker blue then herself. She didn't know what to do. She was frozen with her paw on her head for a second, before she realized it was actually still on her head. Which caused her to place it back on the ground. She wanted him to be friendly, but what if he wasn't? Not that she'd run into unpleasant males or females yet, but there were still that small chance it'd happen. She watched him for a second. "Your not planning to hurt me are you?" She asked. Of course he'd never tell her directly if he was or not, but at least she'd ask and see his reaction.

Dole couldn't help the chuckle that came out of his throat when the stick fell on the female's head. "No, of course not," he called back to her. "I was hunting when I heard you playing. I'm sorry I interrupted you." And then, when he had moved to investigate further, he had startled her.

He stepped forward, out of the shadows of the large trees, and into the open, closer to where the young leopardess stood. "I'm Dole. Do you live around here? I'm sorry if I trespassed, if so. I"m still not a hundred percent sure of the boundaries here." Dole chuckled. His tail swished back and forth, kind of antsy, as he waited for a response. Usually, he wasn't this bad around females, but this one kind of...oh, threw him off balance.

She giggled at him. He seemed to worry too much, at least for now. "I'm Lulua'line." She told him and smiled. "I live nowhere, yet everywhere." For the moment anyways. That was the best way to say that she was a rogue with no particular home. Where ever she decided to plop down for the night was her home for that night. It seemed sad, and lonely to think about, but she knew she'd join back up with her sister in good time.

Her sister was out looking for land to start a pride. A good pride, in Lulua'line's eyes. Lulua was a leader too, but not one to make a pride. Join one, and help, but not run it. It didn't seem fun at all. "Do you live around here? I don't really know much about this place, or if there's any places I shouldn't go."

"A pleasure to meet you, Lulua'line," he returned, bowing his head graciously at her. "Ah, a rogue then? I am as well. The pride I am with at the moment needs me to help them hunt and protect the borders. The former of which I was doing before I came across you.

"The borders aren't that hard to detect, and we're not one to turn anyone away should they accidentally stumble over," Dole reassured her. "You're welcome to visit, if you'd like. We're all leopards, and a friendly bunch. Have you never been in a pride before?" He knew the feeling. But he liked the feeling of having a family more than not, so he liked this pride. Which helped his cause for remaining for a bit longer, even without Fu's request of him to do so.

She shook her head. She hadn't been, but her family was big enough to be called one. "No, though I've got 5 sisters and 1 brother." Plus her aunt and uncles as well as her grandma. Her family wasn't small at all, but it wasn't too big either. Just perfect she thought. Though, she felt she needed to break away from them. Which was why she left. "A all leopard pride, does that mean they don't like leopard mixes?" She asked. She was curious since her two uncles and aunt where leopard hybrids. They didn't seem bad at all in any way shape or form.

Though her mother did tell her that some creatures frowned upon hybrids because they weren't pure. She just didn't understand it, nor would she ever. She smiled at the other friendly like.

"Ha, wow, quite a family you have." Dole didn't have any siblings. Just his mother, who left his father while he was still a small cub. Not that he regretted such a thing, but the blue leopard had promised himself to raise a family with the mother, and make a happy family situation for them all. Just because he had seen many a happy family, himself, on his travels. And he yearned for that.

Now all he needed was a mate to settle down with. Boy, it was harder than he thought it would be.

"I'm actually not sure about hybrids," he thought with a frown. "I don't see why they wouldn't allow them. They're still leopards, even though half, and therefore still a good creature." Dole didn't understand the dislike for hybrids, either.

She giggled. "Yes, well it wasn't big until my mother had me and my siblings." She said. Then it was only five. She wondered how a small family were to be. It was one thing she always wondered. Seeing as she never got along with most of her siblings, but she figured it'd be boring and lonely without them as a small cub. She gave a mental shrug and stopped thinking about it.

"Well, hopefully they do. Hybrids are just as good as any creature. Weather they are liones, cheetahs, or leopards. " She nodded. Though, she sure liked leopards a lot better then anything else. She'd never really been around anything else. Though she met a cheetah once, and a lion. But only briefly.

"My sister has a pride she's making." She spoke up thinking about stuff like that now. "It's for all who have leopard in them. Weather pure or just half." She nodded. Since they were in words of prides she might as well as mention that one.

Dole nodded. "I agree." Though he had met many different other creatures, leopards were his favorite as well. That one lion, Unguzo...He still sent shivers down Dole's spine. That lion had been a crazy one, and he did not miss the male.

"That's definitely a question to ask Fu," he added, more to himself than an addition to the conversation. "Fu is the leader," he explained. "We're friends, and she's the one who asked me to stay and help. So here I am."

His ears perked forward a bit at the mention of her sister creating a pride. "Oh really? Are you interested in joining that one, then, since you'd probably be more than welcome, being blood-related and all? Not to mention your leopard blood, of course."
PostPosted: Wed Apr 08, 2009 8:31 pm

She nodded at him as he spoke of the leader. "That was really nice of you then." She said with a smile. She didn't know how many would actually stick around when being asked. She knew she asked her grandma to stay, but she left anyways. She continued to smile, even if it brought back some slight bad memories. It wasn't his intention.

"Maybe, most likely. She wants me to." She said with nod. "I feel it's my obligation to help my own sister." She spoke with a slight sigh at the end. She wasn't sure truly if she wanted to join it or not. She figured her sister would be bent out of shape if she told her no she wouldn't join. What could one do? Kalama was the closest of her sisters Lulua had gotten to. Most of them found Lulua annoying, since she never listened to mother and father, and always got into trouble.

Good times she had with Kalama though. She couldn't have hoped for a better sister. Though, one of the five was bound to be good. She never even talked to her brother much. He was always doing his own thing, anyways.

"She's lucky to have you then, your sister. If I had any siblings, I would gladly help them. Like you said, it's a bit more than an obligation," Dole chuckled in reply. "Do you know where she's planning to home her pride?"

Perhaps, if it was close enough, Lulua could be a simple 'visitor.' Still be welcome to visit and spend time with her sister and other pride members, but not be weighted down by possible duties that would come with being a blood-relative of the leader.

His stomach rumbled absently and his blue cheeks darkened a bit as he blushed. "Uh, excuse me. I'm a bit hungry, I was out hunting after all. Would you like to join me and I'll get us something to eat?"

She shook her head. "No, not yet. I'm suppose to meet up with her in a few days." She told him honestly. Why she was telling him? She wasn't one to keep secrets good, even if they weren't really secrets. If he had not be interested, she probably wouldn't have said a word. "I'm not sure where we are meeting up either. I know which way she had gone, but I suppose it'll be back close to our home." She didn't really catch everything her sister had told her. She was good at not listening at times. She needed to fix that.

"Sure, though I do warn, I'm not the best hunter." She giggled. She was a bit hungry too, but she hadn't noticed it until he actually said something about it. A slight pain in her belly seemed to appear now. Though, it was more of an annoyance then anything.

"I'm sure you'll find her just fine," Dole reassured her with a grin. It couldn't be too hard to find a relative in a specific area, after all. With a good nose and a scent, it wouldn't take very long at all. Even though a trail could do wonders.

Speaking of trails... "I saw a rabbit trail not far from here, and it was pretty fresh, if you'd like to come follow it with me. I don't mind; I don't think I'm a very good hunter either," he confided in her. Which, wasn't necessarily true. Why he was trying to make her feel better, he didn't know. But she was a girl, and therefore, Dole had interest.

"Come on."
