It'd been a rather long, tiring day... Maximus had had quite a bit of work to do. He always loved festivals, and looked forward to them, but once they had started he found himself looking towards the end, and looking forward to a time when things would be easier.
He returned to the den with a wide, loud yawn, his tail flickering around his back paws. He glanced around in the dimming light, the sun setting behind him. "Nyao?" He called, in case his new mate was here.
She was indeed there, she had been there for a couple of hours. The den smelled of lavander and lilacs, a sweet relaxing scent which filled the cool air, the ground had clearly been 'dusted' it wasn't clean but much of the muck had gone from the floor any bones and debree removed. Where they had slept the nigth before had been piled with furs of all differnt kinds making a bed, which also smelled of the sweet lilacs.
Nyao had been busy making it a comfortable haven for Maximus. Padding fromt he shadows she walked up to her mate and greeted him with a nuzzle int o his thick mane and a pleased purr. "Welcoem home." She whispers leaning her forehead in to his mane for a long moment.

He blinked, a little taken back by the change. He didn't seem angry, per say, just shocked for a few moments as he looked around. He breathed in the scents slowly, his chest swelling with them. Well... it was a bit... girly, but he didn't mind it. In fact after a few moments of breathing it in, it was rather relaxing.
"I see you made yourself at home." He chuckled, tilting his head to nuzzle her back.
She grinned widely as she lifted her head and licked his nose playfully. "I felt it needed a womans touch. Do you like it?" She tilted her head a little her soft pink eyes smiling. "Plus it smelled of boy in here." She chuckled playfully and beconed for him to enter nudging him gently towards the fur pile.
"I make these for my paitents when they are ill, these are new though I thought you might find it comfortable after your long day."

"No, it's.. different... but I do not mind it." He smiled at her and follow when she beckoned, moving to lay down on the bed of furs. He perked a brow once he was nestled into him, shifting as he got more comfortable. "My, this is nice..." He smiled wider and patted the space beside him.
"Come, lay with me."
She smiled gently and moved to curl up beside him her nose turned up to his a glimmer in those soft pink eyes. "I'm glad you like it." She puurrs grooming his cheek gently.
she lifts her paws and gently carresses his shoulders, massaging the aches from his mucles.

He lets out a long pur, his front legs stretching out to enjoy the massaging, his claws raking against the ground. "Ah... thank you, Nyao..." He smiled towards her, his eyes already a little heavy with sleep. "You are already too kind to me..." He licked at her cheek, then settled further into the furs, his eyes closing for a few moments.
Then they opened, looking over her. "Did you eat today?" His eyes trailed to her stomach in a curious manner... If she were to bear his children, he'd have to be sure she was taken care of. Even if he had to hunt himself.
Nyao looked down at him her eyes full of the adoration she held for him, as she had worked on making their home more homely, she had found herself considering more and more what Maximus would like. "You know I will do anything for you maximus." She whispers grooming his shoulder getting rid of a little patch of discolouration as she did so.
The subject of food never really occured to her. She ate whens he thought about it, she could be a little scatterbrained when it came to making sure her own needs were taken care of. "I can't remember, I perhaps nibbled some weat earlier. i forget." She laughs and continues massaging down his body with her competent paws casting away the question in ehr usual jovial manner.

He frowned a little at that, anxiously looking over her. "Nyao... If you are to remain in prime shape, you must eat. Especially if you are... hopefully... eating for many."
Though it was mostly impossibly to look sternly at her while she was massaging him, his knotted and tense muscles slowly unwinding. He couldn't help but pur and be calm, melting away into a puddle in her paws. Still... he tried to look stern...
She flushed deeply as he said that. If she was eating for many? Oh dear, what if she was eating for many? What if already she was pregnant and she would have to worry about herself for a change? She paused for a moment and looked towards the calm face of her mate and smiled. "Don't worry Maximus, I will not allow myself to become desimated. I am a medicine woman you know." She laughed gently and continued massaging.
Pausing again her brow creased in thought. "I have never thought about being a mother maximus." It was an odd statement perhaps but she truely had never thought of giving birth or being pregnant, though she had watched others grow their girth then give birth to many little fur balls. She had spent many years perfecting her craft but now she was expected to be a mother to someone, to many someones perhaps. It was almost a worrying thought.

Her worried words made the anxiety flow into him... He frowned, watching her out of the corner of her eye. He was no longer purring.
He hadn't thought about her feelings about becoming a mother... He'd always been thinking about it, because... well, as a Caesar it was one of his jobs. Did she not want to be a mother? Did she not want to have his heir? "..Nyao... I..." He closed his mouth and thought for a moment more, then sighed. "Do.. you... not wish..."
Nyao's blush grew brighter as he asked her he question, her nose turned towards his and she touched his nose with her own. "Just because I have never thought about it, doesn't mean I never wanted it. It was just, I had other things to worry about..I guess having a mate and cubs was never at the top of my list." She laughed and moved her nsoe to his ear licking it and whispering "I promise it will be the only thing I will worry about for a while."
She smiles in a very winning manner nuzzling his cheek. She didn't want to worry maximus, she could worry for the both of them about what sort of motehr she would be. She would be raising the heir to the throne after all, which was a little more than daunting.

He smiled slightly, reassured but still a little anxious. "Nyao, I know you will be an amazing mother. One of the many reasons I chose you." He nuzzled her cheek again, licking it before settling back down into the furs, purring once again.
"I will help you, of course... I will hunt for you, so you can take care of yourself and still not be taken from your duties... Try not to fret. It will all work out."
The pale blue lioness smiled and curled up in to his thick framed body nuzzling happily in to his thick mane. "And you will be a strong father my lord." she whispers gazing up at him her tail flickering as she bats playfully at his thick wavey mane.
"I fell almost excited but frightened. I have seen many give birth and it is not easy." She pursed her lips and rolled over on ehr back tilting her head to look at Maximus,s he wasn't sure if she could quite do a come hither look but she could at least attempt it, fif they were to have cubs, they needed to continue their honeymoon, so to speak.
