Allo all. I'm Neko, Nekojin, or Kitty. I'm a 20 yr old Kiwi (from New Zealand). Occupied as a checkout b***h while marking time until I can study vet nursing next year. I would identify as bisexual. I look like this: I know, I know, block your eyes. Hobbies include a lot of dabbling in variously creative ways. I like reading, to the extent that I have more than 400 books. Favourite authors include Stephen King, David Eddings, Isobelle Carmody. Favourite children's book/s would be the books about the mice of Brambly Hedge, by Jill Barklem. I also dabble in painting very abstractly, occasional origami, making jewelry, and collecting (standard) earrings. A future goal is to learn glassblowing skills. Major likes include chocolate, rollerblading, playground swings, animals in general. I'm a bit of a cat maniac. My favourite job that I've ever had was working in a cattery, which was highly entertaining, and a lot of fun. It's something I'd like to do for a living. And my old cat, Lolly. She was almost 18 when I had to get her euthanized. I miss her, but I loved that cat. My other major like would be music. I like a bit of an odd mix, favourite bands including Keane, Marilyn Manson, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Placebo, Lordi. Pretty much anything except for hiphop, rap, and overly screamy death metal. Major dislikes include most bugs, spiders and flies in particular, waking up early, watching sadistically violent movies, and violence in general. I don't do very well with loud argumentative people, and spiders just have way too many joints and legs. I'm also very slightly phobic of dead things, more specifically, dead things that are not behaving as dead things should, and staying still. Yuck. Interesting fact about me of no practical importance: If my job allowed it, my hair would be at least temporarily bright purple, just out of curiosity.

Currently my mods are limited to this: If anyone could give me an official name, that would be wicked. I call it my industrial helix corkscrew, but that's a bit of a mouthful. I got it done in two parts. It's in my right ear. Well, I also have twothree holes per earlobe, but they hardly count. I also now have a tattoo of this cat, who is called Emmy: on my right hand shoulder. That was done on the 8th of April, and was far less painful than I was expecting. Pictures of Emmy-the-tattoo are on their way, as soon as I appropriate someone's digital camera... //edit// Also, I want to get my left tragus pierced. Does anyone know how much it interferes with headphone usage, to have a pierced tragus? I also want to get a third hole in each earlobe, possibly my navel, and possibly a helix piercing in my left ear, if the tragus is likely to get in the way. Tattoo-wise, I have several ideas. I want to get a birdangel on my left lower back (her wings would be patterned similar to an owl's) sitting on a swing. possibly extended into a tree as well, to attach the swing to, which would wrap around my left side. I want to get two cats on a wall, in dusk, with the moon. It'd be quite circular, with the colour fading raggedly out in cloudylike shapes. That'd be on my central mid-to-low back. On my left hand shoulder, I want to get a cat's paw print. Eventually that would extend into four plus paw prints, placed diagonally from my left hand shoulder down towards my right hand midback. Each paw print would be in memory of a cat I had lived with. And of course, Emmy. More unformed or less certain ideas include: A question mark on my left inner ankle. A semitribal spiral type of design on my right hip. The words "The night is darkest just before the dawn" somewhere on my body. A tiny paw print on my pulse point of my left hand. Highly impractical, but I'd like to be able to see at least one of my tattoos without a mirror...

Mine ignores me unless she wants food or pats, or unless she doesn't know exactly where I am. Woe betide me if I dare to shut a door between her and me...she sits outside it, and meows. Heartbreakingly. Until I open it. stressed Oh, and unless she's decided I need to get off the damn laptop and go to bed so she can sleep on me.

Lance Castle I love your cat, and Stephen king is the bomb. My cat actually used to fight dogs. LOL! My cat's pretty much the opposite. I used to share pet rats with my ex, and one of the rats (while pregnant and hopped up on hormones) charged Lolly and nipped her nose. Poor Lolly never felt happy within a metre of the rats after that, despite her being ten times their size, and you know, their natural predator... And yeah, Stephen King rocks. I'm slowly collecting all of his books. The dark tower ones are good, but I think the Most Creepy award has to be shared between Pet Sematary, The Shining, and Misery.

Ah yes, Ive yet to read both the shining and Misery. Although I almost have all of the dark tower books. The biggest problem is that im missing the second so I dont want to commit to series until I can read them all in one go.
And ya my cat developed that out of necessity. Where I lived we had a bad position for cats. The left of my house had a golden lab, the right had a chocolate lab, behind were two yappy little dogs, and the front was the shoreline so nothing but water. Beautiful place for a boy, not so much for a cat razz

Beautiful place for a boy, not so much for a cat razz The Shining, I can't read if it's just me in the house, it's that creepy. Misery is definitely worth reading also. Both these two are more people-based scary, rather than It, or The Stand, which are more Thing-based scary. If that makes any sense at all. Second-hand bookshops are good places to find his work? Maybe try there to find your missing volume. I still need to get the last two (two? maybe three, I forget), myself. Hehe, that reminds me of a rabbit that found its way to my lawn one year when I was little - we went round all the neighbours, asking them to please keep their cats inside so they didn't eat the poor thing...and found out a few days later that the sweet lil bunny rabbit had been beating up all the neighbourhood's tomcats. xd My cat would stand her ground against a dog as long as the dog didn't chase her. She has a nasty habit of demanding a share in everything (like my chair, for example), which she thought she could rightly extend to my grandparent's dog's blanket when we were dogsitting. Turns out she was right...we have a picture of Sophie (the dog) sprawled on 85% of a blanket, with my cat grimly curled up on one corner. But as soon as a dog (or a cat, or a rat, or a dust mite) chased her...Wuss-in-Boots exits, stage left.

Hehe, my cat's only a lap cat with me. She's very much a one-person cat, probably because I have the Amazing Power to Open Tins (And Doors). Oh, yours does that too? I feed her breakfast, and two minutes later - "Meow. Meow. Meow. MEEEEEOOOOOWWWW. Meow. Meow." Until I show her that YES, dammit, there really IS food in your bowl. Lol! xd I've seen a video on YouTube of a cat doing that to a black bear cub. Teeny little kitten, big big bear. Bear goes walking, walking, walking....cat goes BOUNCE! HI THERE! and bear goes ZOOOM.

Search "Funny cat video" and you'll probably find it. 3nodding
Hehehe...if I'm not paying enough attention to mine, and am paying too much attention to a book/laptop/other cat, she will sit either on the offending object, between me and the offending object, or (where possible) will remove the offending object from sight. As you probably know, working around a cat who doesn't want to be worked around is pretty damn impossible...
Ah well. She gets her comeuppance soon. I'm moving house (again) and she can have two MORE people to frustrate. xp

Also way overdue update. On April 15th, I had to get my cat euthanised. I miss her terribly, but I hope, if she is somewhere, she's happy. If she isn't, it doesn't matter. It's times like this where I wish I believed in an afterlife, so I knew at least I'd see her again and get to say that I'm sorry if it wasn't what she wanted, but.I don't know if there is.
I really wish things could have turned out differently. I wish pets didn't have to live such short lives. She was there for me always, as long as I remember, and it hurts to think that she's gone.
Miss you Lolly. I really do. No other cat will ever, can ever, compare to what you meant for me.
