Becky tended her plants happily, talking sweetly to them like she always did. Her ears suddenly perked at the sound of footsteps and she instinctivly jumped into a near by bush to hide. making more noise then she would have liked.
Cloche jumped back, startled and still very wary. "Why d-did you hide?" He asked of the blue female.
"Shhhhh" Worried there might be others around. "Because... I have a secret I dint want anyone to really find." She paused. "Why did you jump?"
Cloche gave her an incredulous look. "Because you yelled! In the dead of night, no less." He looked around, seeming a little angry. "What could you possibly be trying to hide here?"
"I yelled O3o?" She blinked at him a few times, not remembering yelling. "I thought I was quiet...." She looked behind her "Just.....something precious to me sweatdrop "
"Yelling or not, you made a noise when I wasn't expecting to hear one..." He said, trailing off. Truth be told he didn't remember if she yelled. It may have been him. "Who are you, anyway?"
"Names Becky. And since you're already here, if you want you can see my garden." "Though I warn you, its kinda big."
"Garden?" He says, looking at the ground, struggling to see because of the time of day.
She stood aside and moved the bush to show a huge clearing. It was almost half the size of a football field. Coverd in rows of splendid looking flowers and vegitables. Some fruit trees linning the rows of trees sorounding the garden. "I've been working on it for a while. Since before I met Shippo. She was so nice and understanding, she even bought me a fountain for the middle. "She pointed to a fountain in the middle, paths branching from it. The water shimmered in the moonlight as it fell from tier to tier.
Hesitantly, Cloche stepped past Becky, giving her a sizable berth. His eyes widened slightly at the sight. "This is all very impressive..." He said, looking at the fountain while he spoke. "Why is it a secret?"
Becky was silent for a little bit "I....dont want anyone to ruin it." She played with her tail nervously. "The only person who knew of it was Shippo, and thats because she found me when she thought I was missing one night." She laughed a little. I sometimes stay here at night so I can wake up to all the fragrance. Its rather nice acctually." "But yeah, I know theres others out there who wouldnt understand the delicacy of some of my flowers...."
"I see," he said, looking at one of the nearer flowers, understanding evident on his face. "Flowers are delicate things, petals wilt and are easily trampled."
She nodded, glad he understood. "Yeah. I'm glad the flower behind my ear never wilts though. I was born with it." She smiled brightly "Its what got me interested in plants." A wind picked up, swirling the flowers scents around them as the flowers danced around them "Oh! I never asked. What is your name?" She asked interested.
He turned to face her again, to look at the flower she spoke of. As the wind blew, the bell around his ear chimed sweetly. "Cloche," He said, "and similarly, I've had my bell as long as I can remember... Its sound is very comforting."
Becky closed her eyes. Smiling as she breathed deeply and listend to the slight ringing. Her eyes still closed, she spoke softly "You're right. It is very comforting." She opend her eyes then "Maybe I should put some bells or chimes up around here. Do you like chimes as much as you like bells?"
"Chimes can be hit or miss, some are lovely while some are a nuisance." He said, honestly and with a mild shrug. "But yes, I think they would fit in nicely provided you found decent ones."
becky thought for a moment "Would you like to go with me to find some? Some times I cant really tell if things are nice or not sweatdrop . Plants are more my thing."
Cloche frowned slightly. "No, not really, I don't care for outings. Truth be told this is the first time I have been this far away from home in ages."
Becky tilted her head slightly confused. "Why? You seem to be doing fine to me." She gave a tiny smile "Besides, it could be fun. Afterwards, I'll show you my splices." And she smiled even wider.
"Splices?" He inquired, sounding a little worried. He didn't know what a splice was, but it sounded painful. o.o
"Oh! Splicing is wonderful. Its where I combine two plant species to create a new species 4laugh . They come out absolutly marvolous sometimes. My most recent pair was a Orchid hybrid." She smiled proudly.
