Tell me what you think of the apt. I am only giving an apt because the research Paper is 22 pages long, with out the documents. The Citations are a little messed up, sorry.

After a while Bach put aside all of his projects and began working on a massive project. Bach began to work on the “Art of the Fugue” and “B- Minor Mass”. The piece “B- Minor Mass” had used a unique set up (see page 13, Ex. 2). What made this mass so unconventional was that the mass had been composed in a duet setting. This piece consists of eight movements and three choruses. Another unorthodox idea was the canon techniques found through out this choral work. Before this particular mass, not many canons had been used in this way. The mass was completed between 1748 and 1749.
“The Art of the Fugue”, was Bach’s last master work (see page 12 Ex. 1). The project had started in 1742 but was not finished until after his death, his sons had finished the piece for him. This fugue was written in the key of D minor, but made it so unusual was that as the piece progressed, the fugue became much more complex. This fugue was also considered quite complex and the first draft contained fourteen movements total. These movements included twelve fugues and two canons. Unlike his previous fugues, this fugue’s constant changes between the subject and counter point, constant changes in motion and the volume as well as speed in each subject. These factors made this one of the most complex fugues. What was even stranger was that this fugue has fallen into the French Style. A French Style fugue consist of two part canons, but is considered sophisticated yet contemporary. In 1746 Bach expanded movements I through III, as well as adding two more fugues and added two more canons. By adding these fugues and canons, Bach had broadened the harmonic spectrum, through out the piece. The other part that today still fascinates scholars and music lovers, it the fact that in one of the movements, Bach uses the letters in his name as notes for one of the main themes. (In germen the letter B means B flat and the letter H means B natural.) In the late 1940s, Bach gave up his position at the academy. On May 18, 1732, BWV 1079 was inscribed on copper and offered as a musical gift to the king of Germany at the time.
