This was the first morning that Notos has been at Ista Weyr, after having been searched the night before. He had woken up early, earlier than everyone else around him, although that left him with only more free time on his hands. Quite honestly, he had no idea what to do or where to go. The only thing that the search had told him, was to wait for the eggs on the hatching grounds.

He was sure that they might have told him something else in the morning, had he stayed in his room. But the young teen wasn't used to have idle hands, due to where he came from, there was always something else to do. But due to his exploring, he wasn't quite sure where he was in the weyr. The thought should have worried the young male, but he didn't seem perturbed by it. "Now, where should I go?" One hand tugged at his black locks, debating a route between two hallways.

"Left, right, left .. right." One hand had been pointing in the direction that he had been saying, before finally settling on one. At this point, he didn't really care where he went. It led somewhere, and that was enough to satisfy the male, as he walked along the long corridor of the carved hall way. Maybe there would be something that would at the very least, amuse him.

Talar, on the other hand, was quite the late riser. Having grown acustomed to being allowed to have what she wanted, how much she wanted of it, any time she wanted it, waking up early was simply not in her plan for the day. It seemed that her body had other ideas however, and soon enough she was stretching and yawning, combing a nimble-fingered hand through her long red hair. Deciding that she might as well stay up, the weavercrat apprentice slipped into her day clothes and moved outside of the room, a hair ribbon held in her mouth as she expertly braided her long hair.

Having gotten a feel for the Weyr easily enough, she padded along the halls carved from the ancient volcano on slipper-clad feet, feeling the delicate silk snag on the ground. She winced, having made the shoes herself, and reminded herself to send word to whoever she would need to in order to obtain supplies for weaving, not wanting her fingers to lose their quick and easy way with thread.

Tying off her second braid, the spoiled girl thought that she heard a voice muttering somewhere ahead of her. Sighing at the thought of running into someone not worth her time- as most were- so early in the morning. Still, she wasn't about to turn around and go back into her room nor was she going to avoid whoever might come her way, she wasn't a coward after all. Instead, she simply continued on her walk until she turned down the hall that contained the voice.

"Good morning," she said pleasantly enough, unable to gauge just yet if this young man was worth her time or not.

He turned around at the unexpected greeting, wondering exactly whom he would see. Imagine his (mild) surprise, when his gaze rested on the features of a young girl. His golden eyes bored into the smaller brown optics, a sprinkle of freckles splashed across her face. She looked younger than him, especially with the braids tied on either side of her head. He really couldn't be sure though. "Shards. I was actually expecting something more, than an imp." Notos commented thoughtfully, his fingers rubbing the side of his face. She wasn't really short, but since Notos was taller, he categorized her somewhere between short and normal. An unfair categorization, but it worked for the older male.

"Should I say good morning here though?" Notos was seriously questioning how honest he should be, weighing to manners. "Actually, since you said it, good morning to you too." Notos leaned down, to be face to face with the small girl, with his hands in his pocket. A grin was playing over his features, almost amused by the little girl. "Are you a candidate? Or do you work here?"

Ever aware of herself, Talar was able to keep herself from gaping, moving her mouth up and down in surprise and anger like a fish out of water- but only just barely. An imp? Did she work here? Oh, to be certain, Notos would have more than an imp on his hands if he kept up this kind of attitude! Who did he think he was, addressing her like that? Obviously he was some sort of low-born cretin, not worth her time or energy. Shards, did she look like a servant girl? She was of the Weaver craft, and a Candidate! That should be as obvious as her hair color. Honestly, people these days! Clearly this young man needed to be educated, and quickly.

"I am a Candidate," she said with no small amount of pride in her voice. She stood straight, shoulders held back and high, a hand on her hip. Confident was certainly one way to describe her. "I am Talar, of the Weavercraft, and only recently of Ista Wery. And you are...?" she asked, trailing off and arching an eyebrow, indicating that it was now his turn to introduce himself. Such a dimglow would probably need to be lead through the hold conversation, if their sparse exchange of words so far could even be termed that.

Notos didn't look too perturbed by the confident girl in front of him. Both of his hands went up, elbows bent, hands held together to support his head as he straightened himself out. "Notos of the former Smith craft. " He drawled out, although he didn't really care to mention it. "Although that has changed recently to Ista Weyr too."

Taking the opportunity to lean against the wall, one leg slightly bent while he stood. His gaze moved towards the ceiling, contemplatingly. "A candidate, huh." Notos had heard of the recent changes, the impression allowing females rather than just males now. In his opinion, he didn't disagree with the change, it was rather refreshing. Who wanted an all male category anyways?

His gaze returned back to Talar, as he continued with, "Are you heading somewhere? Before you met me, I mean." A finger pointed at himself, as he grinned. "Since I have nothing else better to do, I thought it would fun to tag along." Notos really didn't have anything to do, and the girl's crafthall interested him. After all, it wasn't as if crafthalls mixed together on a daily basis.

Ugh, excellent. The dimglow wanted to follow her around. Truth be told, she hadn’t been on her way to any place more exciting than the dining hall for some breakfast, but all the same, did he have to follow her? At least he seemed to know who was worth following, though. Folding her arms under her chest, she considered her answer before speaking. On one hand, she could tell him to flit off and not bother her any more, which would leave her to eat her breakfast in peace. On the other hand, however, he could serve as a potentially valuable connection, given that his craft was so practical and different from her own.

“If you absolutely must ‘tag along’, I am on my way to get breakfast.” She heaved a long-suffering sigh, figuring that such was the plight of the beautiful and knowledgeable, to be followed by fools, and this Notos was most certainly a fool. “So if you’re going to come with me, let us go, because I’m quite hungry.” This certainly was not how she had wanted to spend her morning, but what was there to be done now? It certainly wasn’t her fault that he had turned out to be an oaf with little manners and even fewer charms.

"All right then." Notos had a thumb up, showing that he was cool with the situation. "Lead the way." He pretended to execute a bow, with a flourishing hand motion in front of him. His black hair cascaded along his neck, waiting for Talar to walk ahead of him before he followed. "After all, ladies first."

It wasn't that Notos was dense -- he was astute enough to realize that Talar wanted little to do with him. Whether it was diplomacy, manners or something else that tolerated him, Notos didn't know. But the older male was affected by little in life, a little dislike was nothing to deal with.

".. so. How were the search? Enjoyable for you, I presume?" Notos was trying to make light conversation, occupying the time with something at least. But he was looking forward to the breakfast meal.. a large cub of klah would certainly wake him up. Whatever else they had would be enjoyable -- it certain beat the stale food that was often forgotten about in the smith's hall. It wasn't the kitchen's fault, people in the smith hall were just too preoccupied to eat at the right times.
