If one day you gave your heart away, but then you wanted it back the next, what would be the consequences?
Would the receiver of such a gift give it back willingly?
Or would they hold it hostage so that not even the rightful owner could take it over again?
I'm sure some of the people to receive the gift would give it back without a fight,
But what if someone truly treasured the fragile contribution to their existence?
Could you rip it away from them after such a limited time?
Consider as well the reason for taking such a pleasure away from them..
Could it be that you wish to give it to someone else?
But then mightn't you take that away from the new bearer as well?
How does taking your heart away from one person seem fair if your going to give it to another and take it back again?
Why don't you just keep it for yourself?
Could it be that your own heart is to heavy a burden to carry on your own?
That you need help in carrying it?
Then why keep snatching it back?
Is it because you need that right person?
The person that can carry your precious love without hurting it..
The person that openly promises,
And openly keeps?
Do you even know why you keep giving, snatching, giving, snatching..?
Perhaps you need to look inside yourself and find out.
Because each one of the people that you gave to..
Gave to you as well.
Obviously not my best work, but one that's remained a favorite of mine.
